  • Do you struggle to pay attention? Have trouble retaining important information? Put off big projects in favor of menial tasks? You may think this sounds like attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is also called attention-deficit disorder (ADD). But ADHD isn’t the only cause of attention problems. A host of other issues can sometimes be at the root of inattention, forgetfulness, and procrastination.
    That’s what chef and wellness expert ‪@radhidevlu‬ discovered when she visited Amen Clinics with her husband Jay Shetty. The couple wanted to see their brain SPECT scans so they could learn how to optimize their brains for ultimate health and well-being. In an episode of Scan My Brain with Daniel Amen, MD, Devlukia-Shetty says that her mind can be very creative, but structure, attention, and focus can be difficult. She has trouble starting on projects unless there’s a deadline approaching. In addition, she says that “names won’t stay in my mind” and wants to improve her recall.
    Although these are some of the characteristics seen in people with ADHD, the wellness influencer’s brain scan and psychological assessment did not indicate this condition. According to Dr. Amen, when people who don’t have ADHD but who experience issues of inattention, forgetfulness, or procrastination, there are likely other issues at play.

    Is there a follow up to this- because she names a number of issues - most I am completely the same exact way- but Dr Amen says she has a healthy brain. Would be helpful to know more.

    She sounds classic ADHD. I know because I'm ADHD and everything she described is what I go through and more. If I were to guess, a scan would show low function in the frontal cortex.

    She definitely sounds like ADD/ADHD. I have it and have most of these symptoms. Surprised she didn't get that diagnosis 🤔

    Hmm, I think the editing cut the important part. Usually Dr. Amen shows the brain imaging. Then, out of the sudden Jay is in the video. 🤔

    Can you do a scan on sleep deprived brains?

    • @AmenClinic
      @AmenClinic  2 года назад

      Absolutely. Sleep issues and sleep disorders can be disruptors to blood flow in the brain. Here is more information: www.amenclinics.com/conditions/sleep-disorders/.

    This doesn't show her brain, or tell us anything about her brain or why she may have focus or memory issues, or why she can only perform under great stress?
