@Yuki Gónzalez they do! That's the motivation for trying to keep as many of their members on their team as possible, because if their team makes it to the finals, they also win
Yuki Gónzalez I believe it was the first season they implemented coaches. Not including the judges as coaches. And now if you come back as a full season coach your prize money is matched to the winners prize money it seems. The current season with single episode coaches they get a chance to win $25,000 at the finale.

I have to say this guy is absolutely insane with his creativity and passion for just creating anything. I didn't see works from all ink master competitors but I guess as far as creativity goes he is absolute winner always.
I know DJ from his participation on Best Ink like 6 years ago and the dude was a monster in that one (the only reason he didn't won was because Teresa was also another monster), so when I saw him competing here, I knew he was gonna do great things (the only thing I was afraid is that Bubba could put him down), glad he didn't just vanished after Best Ink and decided to try Ink Master to show how much of an amazing tattoo artist he is.
@@FernandoTorres-bz5tf I saw that season too. I didn't realize it until I looked up Shop Wars on Wikipedia that it was him. Btw, there was also a Best Ink Redemption webshow where the eliminated contestants compete for their redemption and he won that one. Just throwing that out there.
Bubba played it smart and allowed DJ to lead him. DJ did more work but the efforts from both were equal. See the 4 horseman episode of s9, DJ tat first but the 4 shops lost so Bubba had to tat as well to keep them alive
Forreal have never ever thought of getting a backpiece done, just because it's a lot of commitment and I'm indecisive af. BUT when I saw that b&w backpiece man.....I want it on my own back. It's so solid and beautiful
The challenge was to not use any shading but mimic shading with lines. Everyone else took that to mean, don’t use shading needles and only use lining needles. DJ chose to follow the exact wording of the challenge and used his shading needle to make lines which was quicker, much easier, and looked better.
Imo he's too pretentious at times. Anthony Michaels and Joey Hamilton are way more likable and Joey is practically too wholesome for this show lol. Ryan Ashley's also really likable.
As a dude working in the art industry I can tell you that his designs are one of the best works I have ever seen in my entire life, they are breathtaking especially the black and white portrait... I envy the dude have it in his back.
DJ is so unreal. Like half of his work that hes done on the show it all looks like it wouldve taken months to make and to do it with that much detail in just a duration of hours is very impressive. Glad he won two times in a row.
Not only does DJ have some of the best, consistent tattooing in the competition, he’s one of the few contestants who doesn’t seem to care about the theatrics of it all. He’s just there to tattoo
Judging by his work on 2 seasons, St Marq was a one trick pony lol. Still nowhere near as bad as Mystic Mike though, that guy was terrible, what kind of idiot brings only one machine to a tattooing competition 😂😂😂.
The people getting salty about him using a mag are wack lmao.. Make 5 individual lines and make them half assed or use a mag and make them perfect?, it’s a fairly simple decision, and a smart one at that!
Actually the mag is somewhat risky as well. When you use a mag, you are essentially doing multiple lines at a time so if you screw up, all the lines are going to be wack
DJ is absolutely a Master Artist! His talent is other worldly, he’s amazing! ANYONE going up against him , in order to win would HAVE TO BE a Master Artist themselves.
For tattoo shops all over the world to have all the signs in their shops saying no whining or crying or complaining that's all these tattoo artist do is cry and whine and complain.
I think DJ is such a great artist! His illustrations are always beautiful and his execution is always super clean. His imagination and technical skill are what makes him so good!

DJ is DEFINITELY one of my very top, ALL TIME FAVES!! This was a really fab video, although honestly, it’d be EVEN BETTER if you’d just included a quick glance at the pieces that HIS pieces were up against..... for instance, when showing him winning the (multiple) series that he’s won, to have just had a quick glimpse of the other finalists’ day of 5-6 hour tatt AND the 24-35 hour pieces would’ve been really nice. Or even with the Flash Challenges....a quick look at those he’s beaten would have been nice!! I’m sure there’s probably loads of people who remember each & every tatt ever on Ink Master, but after nearly 12 entire seasons, IIIIIIIIIIIIIII’MMMMMM NOT ONE OF THEM!!!’😊

The way he hugged Anthony at the end and how Anthony hugged him back pulling him in was pure as fuck. Easily my two favourite artists

It's funny he came in as a sidekick for Bubba and ended up carrying him through the entire competition and now becoming an Ink Master regular...
I don't think he ENTIRELY carried Bubba. There were some moments when Bubba was able to carry his own weight.
bubba was a great partner and def is strong enough
