My mouth is watering when yo mentioned the banana bread. Your Voice is so lovely- you can have a Podcast and listening to you is theraputic. Journal is cute. Shells are beautiful.
I always enjoy your chats with us, Brie. I've had fun watching this journal come together through your sketching videos and to see it complete is so cool. Beautiful work, as always, and I like so much that each book documents snippets of your life.
Oh yes pls to the koi cover - it is a fantastic spread. Thank you for sharing your work - it is so inspirational and I think your collage pages are proper cool!
I like your consideration fish picture. It would be a nice journal cover. The Christmas hair now in May is wonderful. I celebrate Christmas everyday, so I rejoice.
Wow, I think the koi fish would make a wonderful journal cover. I just hopped on over to your website and so want to purchase one of your journals. I love that you've created them with both types of paper. Hmm, I need to make a Christmas wish list for my family. Hopefully I will make a purchase soon.
Oh Brie, I am so happy when the pain in my knee wakes me up in the middle of the night and I see a new video from you. I think this is 3 times since April. Thank you! Yes to all that you asked us. You are such an inspiration!! ❤️
Sharon I feel your pain too. Psoriatic Arthritis for me...SUCKS. This winter was ruff. The rain storms we have had lately has been ruff.I too am so glad when Brie and others have filled my "to watch" list with new videos to keep my mind off my pain when it wakes me at 3am. I have to get up and move around. Some of my best drawings have been done at 3am in the morning. And I get lots of laundry done then too. 😳🙄🥰
Happy Mothers day to All! Love your sketchbook. It is my inspiration!! You collages are beautiful. I too struggle with them. I always want them simple and neat...lol... the opposite of what I think they should be. I haven't purchased any stickers from you yet or books. But you are next on my spending list. So yes to all the cover and sticker ideas. Your work is beautiful. Thanks for all your inspirations! Weather... I live in Kansas... your weather blows my way. I know how you feel about the back and forth of the weather. The up and down of tempreture. We had soooo much snow this winter for our area. When it snows in Colorado It usually turns to cold rain here. Not this year.We got dumped on. Piles of snow not melting for weeks. Lots of missed school days. The grocery stores were crazy. All I wanted to do was stay inside to draw and paint🥰. This spring I will be drawing more botanicles and my new inspiration, our new Puppy!!
Love seeing your flip through! I love your style and how each of your pages are unique and also clearly done by the same person. I think your koi fish would make a beautiful cover/writing board/sticker and I would also love to see a leaf sticker 🌱🌿
Thank you for such a wonderful share! I would actually love any of your on a sticker. I love my Field Notes journal from you. You are such a positive inspiration for me to work in my journal - I simply cannot shade with my pen like you - but practicing!
Oh, again! I keep remembering things I wanted to say.... I like the look of your vinyl sticker on the Pocket Palette. I got several of your vinyl stickers, and while I would usually put stickers in my journals, I want to see yours over and over instead of closing them inside a book, so I'm copying your idea. 😁😁😁
Loved the look into your sketchbook Brie. And I really enjoy how you do the letting on your tabs. It really pops. Yes to the koi fish cover. Have you made the seaweed into a sticker? If not I'd be so down for one!
Your sketch about six minutes and 45 seconds in, the one you said you’re not a big fan of.. the first thing I thought when I saw it was omg I hope she makes a sticker out of this!
do you work from front to back in your journals with both papers, or do you find you jump around in it, or have a sketch you know you want on one paper or the other? Love these flip throughs
I wouldn’t say it’s talent. It takes a lot of practice, motivation, and determination to get to where I am at. Anyone can do this! Just gotta put in the time.
Nice flip through Brie. I love the lily and koi and I think you could make 2 options by giving the option of the koi on the front cover or the limit. Just mirror image it. That way you have 2 cover options for people who prefer love over the other. I also have a similar poem which is brass but has a screw in cap. I love the look but I tend to crop tightly. Idk if that's a lefty thing it what but the edges are sharp. I have been looking for another. So, are the edges of the pen a bit sharp or are they more cooked (if ya know what I mean)? I'll go check your favorites too find it. And did u say that Parker ink is the more archival one that you have found?
I'm so happy about this video! I'm starting my first mixed-paper journal of yours, and the impression of the ballpoint was so strong that I wasn't sure about working on the back side of the page, but this flip-through shows that you work both sides and it's fine. The koi would be a beautiful cover ... but I'm such a fan of your botanicals that what I REALLY like is the water lily! Question: what camera do you use for your little photos? Is it one of those instant-print cameras? I would love to be incorporating photos into my journals. Thank you for putting your work out into the world! 😍💖🖌🖊😎
I use a writing board (some people call it a pencil board just a thicker cardstock) in between pages to keep the impression of my pen down to a minimum. Hope that helps. The portable printer I use is the Polaroid zip. It’s not the best but I got it cheap on eBay and it gets the job done.
I really like your art style so much! I'm tempted to order one of your journals to try... I did have a question though: Is there a way you recommend storing them when done? Is there any risk of the spine fraying or anything like that over time? Sorry, I'm not familiar with this kind of binding.
Thank you. I just store it as a normal journal. If there is something rubbing on the binding thread I could see it’s breaking but I’ve been making my own journals for 15years or so now and none of them have had binding issues.
Watching this video for the nth time, and I'm imagining a seaweed sticker. I realized I'm imagining the tall narrow version from the previous journal, so I'm putting in a vote for that. Do you have a smaller version of your daisy sticker on your pocket palette? When I put one on mine yesterday, it covered the whole thing.
Lovely journals, Brie. I've been on the Sojourner website- is your cover a Field Notes "Small", "Signature" or "Large"? I really like your hand bound inserts.
Your sketches are really nice. Yes the coy fish and lotus will be a nice sketchbook cover. Awesome work!
Thank you!
My mouth is watering when yo mentioned the banana bread. Your Voice is so lovely- you can have a Podcast and listening to you is theraputic. Journal is cute. Shells are beautiful.
Thank you so much!
This is excellent work. The Koi is kicking.. I will have to check out your work. Thanks keep creating.
Thank you!
Awesome video. Loved the koi fish and all your work. Your style is so creative...
Thank you!!!! Your words have always made me want to keep going.
I like your mix of botanical, sketches, writing, and photos/personal stuff.
Thank you💚
I love your sketchbook so much! The koi fish spread would absolutely make a great cover! Thanks for making such an inspiring video!
I always enjoy your chats with us, Brie. I've had fun watching this journal come together through your sketching videos and to see it complete is so cool. Beautiful work, as always, and I like so much that each book documents snippets of your life.
It’s fun to look back on, that’s for sure.

No one shades the same. Don’t compare yourself to me. You do you!!!!
I vote YES YES YES on the koi fish cover :)
Great journal. I really need to go check your shop out .
Absolutely loved looking through your sketchbook! Very inspiring. I just ordered a couple of your stickers!
Awesome. Enjoy the stickers!
This is SO beautiful!💖 And what camera do you use? Love the quality!!
I use my phone!
It’s good to be silly once in a while💜!
It is!!
I love your sketch book! I would love to see another leafy sticker!

This is fantastic! I love your work! ❤

Yes!!! They are waterproof and dishwasher safe. Stick them everywhere!!!
Love your sketchbooks xx
Thank you

I haven’t and I will!!!

The ladybug?
The girl with the big moon and blue and purple background 🥰🥰🥰
Aw!!!!
Oh! I would love a seaweed sticker, as someone else mentioned.
I put it on my list!
Yay! I'll be ordering!
do you work from front to back in your journals with both papers, or do you find you jump around in it, or have a sketch you know you want on one paper or the other? Love these flip throughs
Great question. I do skip a head to mixed media papers to do most of my sketches. And fill in the rest with photo documentations.
We say that about the weather in Michigan.i i think the koi fish would be a great cover. Im looking at your shop right now
Thank you!!
How does it feel to be so talented? 🌸_🌸

@@DocumentedJourney Aww you're so humble sis. Gonna go and watch all your videos now. Maybe I'll learn to draw like you!💗

I would say they are a bit sharp but not enough to stop me from using it.

loish art!
First of all, I love your videos. Thanks for sharing. I was about to ask what paper you use, but I guess you have explained in this video.
Thank you so much!!! I might have cut out the part we’re I talk about my supplies. I use 68gsm tomoe river.
Would you ever be willing to do a tutorial on how you do your Coptic stitch journals?
Honestly the video I found and learned from is this: ruclips.net/video/S2FRKbQI2kY/видео.html
I wouldn’t be able to do it any better than this!
Thank you!!
love your channel,, inspire me so much to create my own channel 😍 😍 😍 😍
Awesome!!!
I love your drawing style! Great video 👍🏻 I was actually wondering, which company prints your stickers? I would love to make some of my own 🙂
Thank you. I use sticker mule. If you want to get a $10 discount email me at Brie.hatton@gmail.com and I can send you a link.
One more question...how many pieces of Tomoe River paper per signature works well? Sorry new journaler just trying to figure things out!
That’s personal preference however a good start it 5 pages folded in half for 5 signatures.
Watching this video for the nth time, and I'm imagining a seaweed sticker. I realized I'm imagining the tall narrow version from the previous journal, so I'm putting in a vote for that.

I do have the smaller version of my daisy sticker on mine. And I imagine the tall seaweed sticker too.
Lovely journals, Brie. I've been on the Sojourner website- is your cover a Field Notes "Small", "Signature" or "Large"? I really like your hand bound inserts.
Mine is the small. 3.5x5.5. However you can get any size you would like. My inserts fit in all of them. ☺️
Yes, koi cover; yes, leafy sticker.
What do you use for printing pictures?
A Polaroid zip printer. It’s not the best but I got it for cheap on eBay.
Hello Brie! Which field note size are you using for your sketchbook, large or small? (Thickness from your Etsy shop)
Large, however I don’t bulk up my journals. If the journal gets too bulky the large won’t fit in the pocket slots in the front and the back.
@@DocumentedJourney thank you
i ordered a few stickers and one of your book last week! i cant wait until it gets here! but it hasnt shipped yet =(
It’s going to ship in the next couple days. I make them all by hand and I hope you love it.
@@DocumentedJourney I know I will because I've been eyeing it for some time now!! thank you so much Brie!
I know I shipped yours today!! I remember your name!
@@DocumentedJourney YAYYYYY!
