Even though I already know everything you talked about in this video, I watched it until the end because it's so enjoyable to watch you explain stuff :)
Great video; been playing jazz guitar for over 35 years, late 70s never had all this home studio stuff, i use to practice and record tracks on a Grundig tape recorder, i thought it was brilliant then, ha ha ha ha ha, and you had to pay and hire out a studio, with a sound engineer, and lay your tracks down, any tracks that needed playing in a different key, i had to transpose the track into the new key by writing out all the chords, and key changes in transcript, now they tell me, it can be done with a flick of a switch, i have mixed feelings about that, as it can make a musician kind of lazy. I have studied hard with the guitar over the years, and played with some amazing players; but now the home studio is here, is just fantastic. I have found over the years, if you don't keep up with technology in the music industry, you just get left behind, which is not good at all. Your video's are amazing.
For expanding your Soundinterface you can buy a used or new yamaha AG06 mk1 or 2, or / and a bigger channel mixer🎉 its a extremely extensive versatile USB Mixer with build-in 24bit /192khz audio interface
noobie question... I bought a pair of studio monitors (presonus R80s). I plugged scarlett 2i2 in then Powered my monitors on. Then accidently I knocked my USB cable came out on my audio interface - was not intentional. I might just be overthinking things (given they're my first studio monitors) but there is very minor noise from the tweeters only with volume off, is this normal? When I play my monitors they sound great... But I can't tell if a slight static noise is normal?
Hey Lina, (remember me? lol) Now that I upgraded to the Yamaha Hs7, I want to use them only for mixing and my old pair of active/passive, I want to use them for recording only. How can I plug these too, when my audio interface outputs are connected to the Yamahas? Should I buy RCA cables and connect them directly to the computer's headphone jack? thanks in advance for your reply!
Welcome back! Best is if you have balanced two outputs from your interface to connect to your speakers. If not you just need to go between the two speakers. Going directly from the computer is not a good idea, as interface always gives you the best results. :)
in general: passive speaker = home theater and audiophile speaker... (and the amp is that big box that control the volume of each speaker and surroud set up) (in general passive speaker are cheaper to produce and more for general public to enjoy their favorite content... with higher margin for those who make/sell them) (the sound quality will also be very dependent of the quality of the amp itself) active speaker = studio reference monitor they are made with certain specification with less variable) they are more expensive to produce and are more towards a more "professional" use... (passive and active often offer different connection... the passive speaker with have input compatible with home theater output while active one are mostly always the same type (XLR or TRS which are connection build around professional gear) they are both great but have different use case (but i manage to be able to use my reference monitor work with my tv and console setup lol)
In addition to building my home studio around it, I would also like to use hs7 to play my live keys setup (Cp88+Mojo dual) just for personal pleasure. Do you think they are suitable or not in relation to low-end frequencies or should I add a sub? My room has an area of 16 square meters..
Hey Lina I just purchased HS7 and Scarlett Focusrite Solo. Is it possible that I can set up both studio monitors to the interface? If so what cables I need?
Hi Lina, I'm using, Scarlett Focusrite Solo, MacBook Pro 2019 Catalina, And Pro Tools. I can't get an audio playback through my headphones... Instrumentals nor Vocals. Any Suggestions?... Thanks in advance!
What difference does it make when you connect the other end of the cable to the monitors, the thing you said at 13:25? Also, sorry a lot of question here :p why do i need an interface? i understand that you need it to record instruments but does one need it when sounds are coming straight from the computer? Thank you in advance! :D
Tseppii :)
also I have older full size keyboard with midi in and out. I found an adapter that is supposed to allow this to work as a midi controller. I also have a Numark Dj controller. have u ever used similar and if so how does it compare to the keyboard controller u have?
Pure fun to watch your videos ! What a difference to someone of my gender to explain that dry stuff ;-) Hopefully, the young creator, I have recommended your channel, will set up a big smile too, and then plug all her cables and interfaces now in the right way to the rest of the waiting items. So difficult, if you don't know the difference between XLR and USB ;-)
Really enjoyed this video! I was looking for home studio videos just to learn more about their set-up and this actually made me laugh quite a lot whilst teaching me some things! I’ve subscribed! If you’re interested, I’ve started a music related channel myself. Thanks for making this video! :)
Speakers can be very sensitive for sudden power changes. So if you turn desk/interface or the power from the plug off first, it might cause interfienece on the spekers and brake them. So better always turn everyhting else on first, then the speakers. And same when turning them off. First speakers and then everhing else. 🙌 This will save you a pair of apeakers!
@@LNADoesAudioStuff aah I see. I accidentally did this because my Mac was on standby and I didn't notice my interface was as well. I turned on my speakers and they made that little "Puff" noise. Does this mean they lost quality of sound now?
@@LNADoesAudioStuff Is there a way to check if they got damaged? I've only had them since yesterday so I don't really know if they sound worse than before the switch :-)

That’s awesome! I think for Solo that’s RCA cable to either Jack or XLR :)

dehdi ermi they can be tested but it gets really tricky. If there is no notacitable noise, buzz or humm... you are fine :)
Pretty.
Can yamaha hs7 play songs from mobile phone
Yes it can if you have the right cables. It does not have RCA connection.
