Thanks Shane. I am sold. Going to grab a couple pros. The 115k is unuseable. I think the slower baud rates though will be plenty. Most of my modbus stuff is at 19200 and 38400.
Might want to try a faster time base. At 38400, a single bit width is only 25uS. Your timebase was 1mS/div meaning that 40 bit transitions could occur in one scope division. At 115200, 120 bits per millisecond. I think thats why it looked choppy when you zoom in. I don't know if you can see or control the dample rate, but it needs to ve fast enough that it captures several samples per bit time. If ut truly does 1M sps, it shoukd be plenty fast enough to show a decent representation of the modbus, though it might require getting the sample rate up by capturing at a faster timebase.

I can run the test again and see if the results are any different, what timebase would you suggest?
