    I have a “Needleaze” that helps install and align needles on my embroidery machine. Can’t wait to try using it on my machine.

    Changing the needle on my new lsz, to the DI needle,, loosened the set screw, eventually took out complete because the needle was stuck. I had to use a pliers to remove it. Got the new needle in but was tight.
    Also changed the feed dog and foot to the knurled set and leather seems to dog track.
    Looking at the machine, with the foot on the feed dog, the left side looks flush, not touching plate, but the right side doesn’t sit flush, also not touching the plate. Do I need to fine tune the feed dog better?
    Sure wish there would’ve been a shorter screwdriver sent with. I’ll make due though..

    The Ultrafeed uses a DPx17 for fabric and a DPx16 for leather. I have seen needle system 134-35LR (for leather) as an equivalent to the DPx17 system. Can the Ultrafeed use 134-35 needles?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  2 года назад

      No, it cannot use a 134-35 needle. It uses 135 x 17 or 135 x 16 needles (DPx17 or DPx16).

    The little screw fell out when I was replacing the needle. Now the needle falls out after just a couple stitches. What am I doing wrong?

      Are you sure your using the correct style needles? What sewing machine are you using and what style needles?

    I use these needles in my longarm quilting machine - the best way to properly line up the new needle is to put the tip of the old needle into the hole of the new needle - turn it to where it needs to be and tighten. This also helps to push up into the hole. I then write the date on the needle case so I know when I last changed it.

    I bought a lsz-1 6 months ago and have yet to have a good consistent stitch on the few trials. So after bench wishing over the holidays I thought now is a great time to fix my $900 sewing machine.
    I've polished a middle strike scar from the back of the hook, I've flattened the retaining spring to fit properly and I'm addressing the timing. The machine was sold as in "working condition", but hasn't yet in my hands.
    Reviewing the timing video and needle bar ht adj, my needle still looks too "long" and the eye doesn't line up with the hook tip. (It no longer picks up the bobbin thread).
    Here's my point: before I start readjusting the timing... I need to check to ensure that while sewing through some thick heavy layers (poorly), I did not dislodge the needle from being fully seated.
    Obviously, a needle that is 1/8" from being seated fully will show up on the timing cycle as the hook being too far advanced. I'm going to change the needle then re evaluate the timing before loosening any timing set screws. Perhaps that will help other newbies?

      Did you get yours sorted? I have one I picked up used and the timing was off with mine as well. I had to adjust the arm height. There is a document on the Sailrite site with all the timing specs you can use if you still have problems after setting height.. There are some other distances that have to be set also.

      @@shawnmaxwell8544 Once I set the needle bar height and checked a couple other little things in the online manual I was golden. Mine is stitching perfectly. Need I mention that I got it for $150 instead of $700 or whatever they are going for on Sailrite? : ) Keep an eye out on Craigslist and you might find a deal. I saw an LZ1 that came up with a bunch of accessories with a Monster Wheel for $650 but someone beat me to it.

      Try putting a drop of oil on the top of the needle, then push the needle in and out of the hole at the bottom of your needle bar several times. This will typically resolve the problem!
