The barn stands by itself in the South Boulder Creek open space just off of South Boulder Road. The sound of the early morning commuter traffic dominates the background as we wait for the sun to rise and illuminate the scene. The Flatirons that front Green Mountain in the distance take on a pinkish glow. The color of the clear blue sky deepens. Longs Peak can be seen on the middle right horizon. The sun finally catches the gable end of the barn roof and makes its way slowly down the front side until it illuminates the autumn brown field in the foreground. The occasional cry of a bird pierces the air.
