2:53 This was actually released on the PS2 in '04 originally. One of the few games that pushed that console to it's graphical limits. Still looks good even two decades later. 👌🏼

@@Welchy-TVyep, it’s a joke in the Japanese version as the colonel’s voice actor also voices doc brown in the Japanese dub of back to the future, the joke isn’t there in the English version but they still got Paul Eiding back to record a single voice line lol.
The name of tank is ShagoHod, which according to Russian language devides in to words: shag(step) and hod (walk), fun fact as it translates as "Stepwalker", and there is another metal gear game called "Peace walker"
I'm only halfway through the video so maybe you do figure it out by the end, but one thing I will let you know is since MGS3 is from the era of instruction booklets there are things they don't just tell you in the game (there is a control menu somewhere in game - maybe at the main menu somewhere- where it tells you every option you have). There is a stalking system attached to the d-pad that lets you sneak while walking very slowly, it is how you are supposed to get up on guys without them turning around from the noise when you walk/run up, if you noticed they keep seeing you before you can get to them. I'd also recommend looking into the CQC controls as the CQC system adds a lot of fun options to the game imo it adds a lot of way better options than the knife waving 2 piece you were hitting guys with. Like you can snatch them and slit their throats, or interrogate them, slam them and knock them out, take human shields, it's awesome and is a lot of the intended use of the knife or knife/handgun combo. Awesome you are playing 3 already, hell yeah. (I guess I should also mention MGS2 and 3 are some of the only games that made use of the pressure sensitive buttons so you may have trouble if emulating. There might be a workaround, but I'm not sure what that would entail.)
Some freaking good info there, much appreciated. I did a bit more recording tonight and will be doing more tomorrow so will definitely investigate. The MGS community has been awesome throughout these playthroughs. Supportive and full of awesome advice and explaining parts of the lore as well.
Yeah it has definitely helped so far. I am not writing down large notes, instead I am just doing things like names, events, possible story points to question or remember. Just things to like jog my memory.
@@Welchy-TV MGS influence goes deeper than you think. On youtube called "Son who turned Capitol rioter in reacts to father's sentence" showcases the franchise power. Notice the posters behind him and he openly stated on twitter that his composure is directly linked to MGS.
I'm guessing you figured it out by now but the entire story of the metal gear solid series was that Solid, Liquid and Solidus Snake were clones of Big Boss. Hence, Big Boss looks like the other Snakes.
yeah the fandom hated Raiden so much Hideo Kojima take the piss out of Raiden in this game and the fandom for hating him, that why it was joking that you be playing as raiden again with the fake out at the beginning
Yeah I am quite annoyed atmyself that I didn't pick up on that in the video itself when I was recording. As it also makes sense as to why the I was asked whether I liked MGS2 in the initial menu when starting the game. A very Kojima thing to do to troll people after knowing what the fan reaction was like to playing Raiden for majority of MGS2.
An even bigger troll would have been to feature the Raiden mask for picking any other option _besides_ "I like MGS2". That way diehard MGS1/Snake fans would have been even more livid when booting up the intro lol

Yeah, it came out mid way into the PS2 generation. MGS4 was on the PS3. There's a massive difference in graphics between the two.

Can you disclose anything without it being a spoiler? I worked out the raiden reference which I missed at the time.
