This was one of the first Warhammer stories I read. It was in The collection Let The Galaxy Burn and evidently it's in other collections as well. Takes me back and it was one of the first stories where I learned the Word Bearers are actually extremely fanatical and dangerous. They are not a joke. They treat blood like water when they sacrifice thousands of slaves and their own Cultists. Blood magic is a powerful thing.
@adeptus-astra lol I know your pain. BTW did you know that there is a prequel to the Night Lords Trilogy? It's just before Istvan 5. Talos is still an apothecary, Vandred is daemon free and Malcarion the War Sage (the Dreadnought they revived in the trilogy). It's called Massacre and someone on youtube did a reading.

The word bearers are truly terrifying. The most devoted to chaos.
