I'd use braid and never use a back lead to much movement in the line must be a good 3ft plus of movement there. The back lead lift's when the fish run's giving a good chance of finding it's way in back to the snags just my opinion having fished snags
Lot of placers I fish have a no braided main line rule but I do agree with you 100% I fished a lot of lakes with heavy weed and back leads are a big no no.
Ask yourself this. If your fishing a heli setup and you have a fish the lead discharges and everything is fine. Next minute it’s snagged, weeded or your simply cut off how does the top bead on your heli come off?. The heli system relies on the weight of the lead to pop the top bead off to make the system safe. If your dropping the lead on a heli system and your line parts it’s effectively a death rig the top bead will never come off. It’s a bit ironic how it’s called the heli safe when it’s literally the most unsafe item in carp fishing. Please don’t drop the leads on heli rigs the whole system requires the lead to free the top bead. I would like to add I have nothing against Korda I own a huge amount of there end tackle but I feel people do not think about this when heli fishing
@@jamesgibbons901 if the helisafe gets caught up in something that will be the weight ,the fish will be able to use the snag as a weight and free it self
@@GG-ch1hm If the heli safe gets snagged up it’s safe to assume the leader behind the bead could also be snagged. If the lead is kept on the heli as it should be it will free itself fine every time. No need to rely on a heli safe snagging.
Personally I wouldn't use a backlead fishing to snags, thats essentially 2/3/4ft of slack extra line that the fish can use to its advantage, kind of defeating the object of what you are trying to achieve by doing everything else. I would be having the line bow string tight and directly pointing towards the snagt. I dont see what the benefit of putting a backlead on would be if you are fishing to snags as its not like you are fishing short or in open water, you are fishing to the opposite side/s so any fish between you and the snags are irrelevant as you have chosen to fish this area over open water so for me the backlead is a hinderance. Not only that if that backlead doesnt discharge and come off its another piece of weight that you will have to contend with when doing battle or if not used correctly the fish could be towing. Its a no no from me.
Nice Korda teaching people how to snag fish
Three lakes Burrell’s lovely lovely club lake I love it over there somewhere so beautiful great video

The one thing he did not mention is snag fishing at night !! Unless your staying up and sat by your rods .
always use braid whenever possible, far too much stretch in mono
Yeah but if that gets snagged, you'll have to cut it.
6 of one and all that 🤷♂️
Mono is much better for the fish it absorbs shocks instead of tear their mounths up so not really
Great video 💚
you ever going to do your heli safe in a pack of 3?
They want you to buy two packets so the answer will probably be no lol
@@flynngreen yh I know it's just so they can get more money 😑

Very Good
Braid all the way when snag fishing.. Fishing directly to the spot.
No barbless?
