Delta A321-211 Night Takeoff from Las Vegas

- Departing Las Vegas late on a Friday night for another red-eye to Atlanta, this time from Runway 1R, which runs directly parallel to the strip, making for some great nighttime views as we climbed out. This was my first flight on a Delta A321, and I found it to be pretty nice and comfortable. This video starts during the taxi because the cabin lights weren't dimmed right away which made a reflection on the window. It was a pretty long taxi out to the runway, and the pilots had to spool up the engines a lot in order to keep up our speed during taxi, it seemed. This reminds me of the time my parents and I flew from Las Vegas on that same Delta plane three years ago, but we had to take TWO flights to get back to Florida, we flew from Las Vegas to Atlanta, and then it was from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale, and boy, if one flight was scary enough for me, TWO flights was a living nightmare for me! At least I'll never forget when I distracted myself by watching the live action 'Beauty and the Beast' movie on our second flight, and when I looked out the window, the sun was already setting causing a beautiful orangey to form behind the clouds, and it almost looked like the background used for the end credits of the movie!! I nearly cried!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ladies and gentlemen we have been clear for departure sit back relax and enjoy the flight with an 1 hour over to Chicago midway thanks again for flying southwest airlines
Pretty good night takeoff video, the view of the strip was impressive. I notice how the plane flies so far to the metro limits, and then from that 'point', everything is dark, being above the desert then. It's like the city has a winding light-defined boundary cutoff between urban and 'rural', whereas with many other cities, the lights just gradually wane to virtually nil after a while.
Thank you! Yeah, Vegas really does just appear out of nowhere at night. You see the contrast really well while driving there after dark, once you're about 45 minutes out you just see this big bright light in the distance behind some mountains.

I remember I did a night flight to for Christmas to San Francisco y’all the best it was amazing I went to sleep and then when I woke up we were there involve night flights. And Atlanta to Cali is 4hours soo that was amt
I live in vegas and go to winnipeg every year to visit my cousins. I see this all the time and its beautiful and calming. 2020 we couldn't go cause of covid though

I flew at night once but I went to sleep and was mad at myself when I woke up because I couldn’t see the Bright lights
I think I had that type of sound before on Eva air
i know that Vegas is landlocked but the southwest environment makes it seem like it's an island at night. Vegas metro just ends and then there is nothing.
