Right makes no sense. I make my grandson wear a life jacket at water parks and he’s a strong swimmer. We all are, my girls taught swimming, are all lifeguards and swam competitively and still were life jackets. This just breaks ny heart, that poor mom.

As kids we all took the boating courses since we all had boats and all our dads are either firemen or police officers so everything is about safety. My brother is an ER doctor and he sent me pic of my son on the boat and I laughed as he of course had my son wear one. I just love how he would never not allow my son on without one. You just never know what could happen. Remember that one girl from Glee? I always think of her story and how if she just had one on she’d still be here. Her son was left on the boat by himself for a couple hours 💔

yes deedee, people make all kinds of excuses as to why they shouldnt, as in "it would have happened anyways" but the cold hard truth is, if you are wearing a life jacket, its a lot more likely the searchers will be able to find you, whether your praying to God (to float you to shore) OR (bcus you already in heaven) talking to God directly. I had a friend killed at sea, she was 18, another boat had hit their boat and cut it in half. They found her and her step sister holding onto a life jacket. It was heartbreaking, they didn't find the others until a week later.
The report about this says the father and son went “ shrimping “. People do scuba diving to go on this kind of a trip. If you look at a video on shrimping requirements there is nothing about a life jacket. You might be swimming underwater. The boy’s father was a coach. I don’t see anyone doing shrimping wearing a life jacket. It’s not that kind of a trip. How can you go snorkeling with a life jacket on? Unfortunately, it has risks. Why don’t you see some videos about “ shrimping” before you judge someone.
A kid at that age should probably stay on the boat with a life jacket and cast out nets. Maybe he was too young to go scuba diving or whatever they do. I have seen several reports of father and son deaths doing this kind of thing. They probably told the mother “ Don’t worry, we’ll be fine”.

Somehow I don't believe she'd want to see him after 3 weeks in the water. Lot's of skin slippage and the fish have probably eaten anything recognizable as him. Plus you don't need a funeral for him to go to heaven. He's been there since he died. This is heartbreaking 💔. I had life long friends that spent every summer at Dolphin Island. They ended moving back home about 1.5 yrs ago. The husband came down with cancer and passed. The kids had moved down by their parents. They all came home and moved everything back once the dad passed. This place was so peaceful. My visits were such great memories. Now, the dad is gone and he was as much to me as a dad as a dad could be. This breaks me for the precious momma. I'm so incredibly sorry for the pain and deep hurt she is having to endure. Praying the Lord wraps His arms around her and helps her through this horrific loss. 🙏

They’ve got thin jackets now that go over your neck and shoulders, they will automatically deploy when you hit the water. They are unencumbered for the heat in the summer nand don’t get in the way of your arm movement or in small spaces like an engine room
The life jackets available nowadays are not that bad. Too many people don't think SAFETY while boating & they're usually the ones that suffer. This so called wonderful father was very neglectful to not make sure his SEVEN year old son was wearing a life jacket!!!!

Something isn't adding up to me. According to this they found 2 adult men dead in water but yet the boy is missing? I wanna know cause of death!

This is so heartbreaking 😢 so sorry to his mother and whole family! Please wear life jackets, my cousin had a crash on the water and didn't see it coming. She woke up in the water with a head injury so she would've drowned had she not worn a life jacket.

3 generation and not one wearing a life jacket. These are the sort of people that boat licences should have never been given.
People don’t wear life jackets because they are uncomfortable. That’s it🤷🏽♀️
They’ve got thin jackets now that go over your neck and shoulders, they will automatically deploy when you hit the water. They are unencumbered for the heat in the summer nand don’t get in the way of your arm movement or in small spaces like an engine room
I think death is probably more uncomfortable. But, that's just me. 🤷♂
The life jackets available nowadays are not that bad. Too many people don't think SAFETY while boating & they're usually the ones that suffer. This so called wonderful father was very neglectful to not make sure his SEVEN year old son was wearing a life jacket!!!!

That’s why there are all sorts of sizes and materials. Maybe it’s because I live on an island but there are so many options… they aren’t the big uncomfortable mustang life jackets of the 70’s. They are sport specific to.
