Thanks for watching and commenting. We received on check in at the booth when arriving at Ferry port, as soon as we left vehicle we were able to go straight to our cabin.?
So cool adventure I dream about it with my family ☺️
Ex Portsmouth resident here now in Australia, just scouring around Portsmouth videos.
The 'Fort' was the 'Round Tower" (Yes its called that), in Old Portsmouth.
Armed to the teeth with cannons, as a last defense for the port after the Two Spithead forts in the Solent. At the time, it was to protect against the French or Spanish fleets.
If they got too close, they would have sprayed cannon balls at attacking fleets. They also had a MASSIVE chain between the tower and Gosport, so any ship that got through the cannons, would have had their Keel severed from the body of the ship.
Brian White wow that’s really interesting thanks for sharing 😄👍🏻
Brian White is my dads name and this is exactly the kind of stuff he would have told me if we were on that ferry!
Great stuff . New subscriber here . Thinking of our first trip to France next year ( if possible ) in the Motorhome . Nice to see it went well for you guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The KosH Plays hi thanks for taking the time watchband comment. We will be doing a bit of a site tour of La Garangeoire
Roll on May, we've booked a cabin thats right on the front of the ship. Not taking a caravan though....First site is about 20 miles from St Malo, then we're moving on over to Ty Anquer for the rest of the holiday. Great video of the ferry!
John Walsh sounds great, hope you enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment. Merry Christmas
@@LatitudeAdventures Thanks, and a Happy New Year to You. I forgot to mention the trip is for our 30 year Wedding Anniversary, and we decided on Brittany as it worked out a hec of a lot less hassle from our original plan, which was going to be Island Hopping in Scotland. Less driving involved, and more relaxing. Scotland will be for another time.
We're taking a large tent and loads of comfy gear, so it'll be like Glamping!!!
Hope it still goes ahead !!!
Good informative video, was not to keen on the music at the beginning,
Look a bit happier Stuart you're on holiday! Was the ferry that bad?
Jim Evans hi, he’s not a morning person. 😂😂 The trip over was really great but we didn’t get that much sleep as we all had to be up by 6 before we docked
You are lucky you got to go on board last it must of bin boring to wait
When do you get issued with cabin key etc?
Is it best to arrive earlier to board so your first off? Or does it not really matter?
Personally I think I would prefer to be earlier so first off next time as we were last on for this one and it was a bit of a rush to get up to cabin. We then had to wait a long time to disembark the other side.
@@LatitudeAdventures thanks, we'll try get there earlier. Coming from Scotland though so will be a bit of a drive
Why did you get stopped because of the bikes?
Jonathan Dann we had the bikes on the top of the car which meant our height was just under 3m and bikes would have hit the upper deck. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment 👍🏻
