The biggest thing I’ve towed onto the Eurotunnel was my boat which from the towbar to the end of the mast was over 9 metres long. It was 2.55 metres wide. I didn’t dare tell the caravaners on the same crossing that my ‘trailer’ had only cost €15 to make the crossing as they had paid considerably more.
Oh! Well done Paul. I tow a 24ft caravan with a Volvo V70 but I was really breathing in deeply when you joined that train especially with the extra wide caravan. I have subscribed and look forward to your adventures in France.
We did the same trip 2 days after you on 22/06 to Blackhorse then tunnel with our LR Discovery and 8foot wide Buccanner Commodore then onto Lake Annecy in the French Alps for 2 weeks. Had a fantastic time and got back home last night. Shuttle is no problem did the Dordogne last year which was the first trip with the Buccanner as we’d only had it 1 month then. You’ll will have the French bug now you’ll want to keep going back. We’ve had 10 fantastic holidays over there and more to come just love France. Look forward to your next video.
got the van yesterday is in secure storage until car gets new engine fitted under warranty then hopefully start with little steps in middle of may can't wait, Harrogate here we come
Great video Paul, looked a bit tight getting onto the train, I was getting anxious watching it 😳, me and Tracey looking forward to part 2 as we’re thinking of doing the same next year 🫣
Great video. We're going through the tunnel later today. Our caravan is now stored in Spain so we no longer tow, which I miss doing. The car only carriages on the train are a lot narrower & always clip the kerb going in, but luckily haven't damaged my wheels....yet
How did you find the roads in France? Im taking my 8ft wide caravan to the south of France in July. Glad ive watched this as I was dreading getting on the carriage but you made it look easy.
In my experience the roads in France are so much better than here in the UK, the toll routes can be expensive but they are quick and easy, have a great holiday & you will find Le Shuttle easy 👍
@@pashonexploring I've not been across to France yet...will try and do it soon. Would the ferry be cheaper than the train....as that's my first option?
Hi ya, we chose the shuttle as we are not great on water, we also used our tesco vouchers against the cost. I would definitely recommend a trip to France it's a lovely scenic country, even on the toll roads.
A British made car towing a British made caravan through the British county side just looks right..safe travels in France ..look forward to shearing your adventure's!!.💕🇬🇧
Great video! We’re doing the Tunnel for the first time in a few weeks with our caravan and dog so was good to see what to expect. Can I ask what make and model your caravan rear camera is please?
Looking at how close the van was to the train floor edge it’s a wonder the mirrors could get through the larger closing doors What is the rear view camara you are using. Happy travels
Beautifully done - both the video and the journey. Thanks. It reminded me of a similar journey I made.
Really enjoyed this journey. I'm taking the kids next year to Disneyland paris and we're taking the caravan so glad I've watched this. Thank you
@172wills I hope you all have a great journey. It's nice to know our experience has helped others. Be nice to know how you get on. Thank you.

Hi Nick and Tracey, glad you enjoyed watching part 1, it wasn't as bad as it looked to be honest. definitely recommend it, part 2 is on the way soon 😊
We really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing. Brought back memories for us which we’ll hopefully be doing ourselves soon 👍🏻
Hi ya, glad you enjoyed it, now working on part 2, we loved it there and already looking forward to going again. Hope you have a good time 👍

I was a little apprehensive before we boarded but it turned out to be easier than I had expected, cheers.
Fab job getting on the tunnel! Can't wait to book our trip again next year! looking forward to watching more of yours :)
Thank you, enjoy your trip next year 🙌
A most informative video and a great piece of maneuvering Nick!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hubby was dreading this with the same van. It’s actually much bigger and easier than you expect it to be

Brilliant facial expressions Paul during Safety announcements .

Hi Nick and Tracey, have a great week away in the new forest x
Jeez ,that Tannoy instruction tone smacks of 1984.
Hi just found your channel and subscribed looking forward to seeing where you go in France have a lovely time .
Welcome aboard!

Was it easy finding somewhere to store your caravan?
We use the Caravan Inn, near Roses, but there are plenty of storage sites around. Many though, have a waiting list.
Hi what camera and screen do you have on the rear of your tourer please
Hi, it's an Auto Vox Solar 4 there's a vlog on our channel about how I fitted it.
@@pashonexploring thank you will take a look 👍

What’s the fashion accessory over the front of the caravan? I hadn’t come across them until this evening and yours is the second.
Do you mean the towing cover on the front of the van if so then these are to protect the van from dirt, stone chips and broken windows when towing.
Liked your video. Wondered if you can give us details of your rear view camera as looks very impressive. Thanks a lot Pat and Peter

@pashonexploring yes we have now watched that very good. PAT & Peter
I have done this trip with a bunch of Minis (not BMW)...great fun driving down inside the train 😅😅😅
I bet it was, on our return journey we had to drive right to the beginning, which meant one of the first off the train.

Hi, can I ask what car seat you have for your pup.
We purchased it via the Vinted app, I've looked and there are no makers labels on it, sorry. I would look on Vinted or Amazon, cheers
