    In this video I am going to demonstrate my method for replacing the track rod end on the Kia Picanto. This method is pretty much the same across many different makes and models.

    Awesome video! I wonder if a bit of penetrating fluid would help, and some copper anti-seize when installing.

    Hi, I don't have the special tool to extract the old part.
    What would you think if I support the hub properly and hit the old part down gently with a piece of hardwood and hammer ? Thanks!

      It is possible to free the ball joint by hitting the outside of the hub with a hammer. Naturally, buying a ball-joint splitter would be the best option. They aren't too expensive, here is a good one for little money! It is certainly less cash that you would pay a mechanic to do it for you!
