  • Join us in the treetops as we witness the incredible engineering skills of young Sumatran orangutans. While most human infants are still learning to sit up, these intelligent primates are already constructing complex nests high in the canopy," I exclaim excitedly in my latest RUclips video. I take my viewers on a journey through the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia, where I have had the privilege of observing these critically endangered apes for the past 13 years. With detailed footage and expert insights from primatologist Andrea Permana, we learn about the fascinating process of nest building in baby orangutans. From their first attempts at adding leaves and twigs to their mother's nest, to their hilarious struggles with bending branches into circles, we witness the determination and intelligence of these young apes. We also discover the importance of this learning process for the survival of the species. As we watch these young orangutans grow and develop their nest building skills, we are reminded of the fragility of their treetop homes. Join me in spreading awareness about the conservation of these incredible creatures and their intricate way of life. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more amazing content on the natural world. See you in the treetops!

About This Video- The US mission in India has approved more student visas in 2021 than ever before. More than 55,000 students and exchange visitors have or will board planes to study in the United States this year. This comes despite the many challenges that people are facing in traveling abroad.

For a video describing orangutan nest building behavior they should not have included the monkeys shown at ~1m:20s. That animal has a tail and very much appears to be a baboon infant; monkeys have tails, apes do not! And how is showing an orangutan wearing clothes and being exploited by performing onstage for humans supposed to demonstrate their learning process of nest building?

You have made some very good observations. The best explanation is that almost all of the videos you see on RUclips are created by poachers or shared among groups of poachers. They don't care about the health and safety of these animals. They only care about the money they make from the sale and exploitation.
