Imagine thinking your opponent is good because he is taking quite some time to make moves but in actuality he is dissecting and carefully explaining how he is going to utterly destroy you.
😂😂
You mean bad right?
bad*
Busch gas robbed again
Players that bad don't think
As a 57 yr old beginner to daily chess , I greatly appreciate your videos and live streams where you go over everything . I’m still struggling to not blunder but am having a blast
Nice sir 😊
You are not talking too much! Your explanation of each game piece by piece is super helpful. And I love it when you get down to 1:00 or less and then say "I'm going to have to speed up a bit now" and then find a checkmate in four or five moves that you make in less than 11 seconds!
You are not playing too slow. To learn about your thinking process is very helpful for us beginners to improve :)
It's also like a never ending chess puzzle with a right answer that you keep getting hints for in real time.
Nelson explaining this stuff is forcing it into my mind to where I hear him talking when trying to find a move to play
Of course he's not playing too slow...he's explaining what he's doing. If he wasn't teaching us, then ofc that would be playing slow. Why state the obvious?
Don’t change Nelson. I’m learning so much from you talking through your thought process. People should watch different channels if they just want to watch people playing. But I don’t know how much they’re going to get from it compared to your channel.
Best strategy: Take your time and your opponents get bored and resign LMAO
This happens alot to me and it is frustrating
Yeah, those players should probably play blitz so they can just lose faster.
Lol chess players have good patience level
Only newbies have no patience in chess but they will develop this skill soon
I try this strategy all the time, but then I just lose on time.
13:00 whats funny is, in lower ratings this stuff is so common which why people also struggle with just opening theory/studying some openings, they have to adept whats going on and I love that you show these games and explain your moves since thats so instructive! Others just punish mistakes without actually explaining why its bad or how you could go down the line with these type of positions, you're doing a great job Sir!
Resigning because the opponent "takes too long" is so stupid 😅. I mean, sorry for using his 10 minutes? Play bullet if you want fast
Everyone who's following rating climb please like the video also so that it reaches more audience and the channel grows faster. It's literally free to like...
Keep talking! I love these videos and I’m stoked you brought this series back. I started playing chess in March and I’ve hit as high as 950. I find so much value in your channel and it is now at the top of my subs!
More great lessons , thank you ! Looking forward to July 15th , think I'll have plenty to get my teeth into 😀
To me personally, I think Mr. Nelson Lopez is like a beginner-friendly version of Daniel Naroditsky. It's nice.
Very well said..! Great comparative observation ; I wholeheartedly agree 👍💯🎉.!!
I actually happened upon a Naroditsky video the other day, and it seemed like i was able to follow some of what he was saying but yeah, quite advanced, lol
Very interesting comparison 😊
@@bucketspree4952a lot of times I watch Nelson because I enjoy the satisfying games, but with Naroditsky I sometimes feel like I'm opening my third eye
10:43
"I don't see any immediate tactics" There's Qe4 ;)
Amazing Qe4
Discovered this channel a few months ago , rating grew , still growing, don't ever stop mahn I appreciate what you teach🎉😊
Hi Nelson, I think you do an extremely well job in doing your explanations for your moves and the opponent's moves. The time you take explaining is well spent. You are an excellent teacher.
I wholeheartedly agree!
This is the most helpful series I've seen. 👍 Thanks so much for making it so detailed!
Opening Suggestion:
White pieces > Queen's Gambit
Black Pieces > King's Indian Defence
(I've played alot of Queens gambit trough my climb to 1500 and for black I've always wanted to try the KID but I personally find it difficult to play so maybe you could help out explaining it a bit If it may occur, as always take care, hope you and your family is up well!
Nelson I am so thankful for you, I learned so much from your old rating climb and now I am kinda strong!
Good morning Nelson! 😊 So excited to see more Speedrun content! Would love to see you pull off the Englund Complex for giggles.
Very helpful stuff man thanks very much. Love your rating climbs.💯💯💯
Thank you very much, love the way you explained about the different pre-move thinking and defense at the same time. That has really helped me to up my game.
Thank you so much for this series. It's helping me so much the way you are explaining everything
i love this series thank you for really breaking down each move how you do it’s helping me tremendously!
I appreciate you taking time and explaining your moves, Nelson! I'll use that boredom strat against my 550 opponents, too. 😀
I love that you take your time explaining every move. It’s super helpful
At 44:43 I think bishop d6 would be best. If he threatens mate, you check, no matter how he avoids you'll win the queen. And depending how he defends king check you'll either lose equal amount of pieces or you'll win one more even with queen
Nelsi, you're doing a really great thing!!!!!!! I'm watching your videos from Austria and love them!!!!!!! Thank you sooooooo much for the great content and helping me, to really improve in chess!!!!!!!
@48:42 that’s one of my best strategies 😂😂😂😂
There is also a different mate in 4 available as well, the one I found was Rook D4, (King C5), Pawn B4, (King B6), Rook D5, (King A6), Rook A5 Checkmate
love these videos and the time control. great way of explaining everything on the fly
Very helpful video to have you go through your thought process during the games
so many players bring out their queen early against me still, i'm going to remember that queen trap
Finally new climb rating videos!
Could you always explain the brilliant move? For example in 48:48?
Also, i have suggestion for opening Queen Gambit, King's indian defense, and Caro-kann?
Queen gambit is very interesting in lower elo and 1000+ elo. In lower elo they mostly accept the gambit and defense the pawn with the b5. It just funny.
I hate play as a black cause I have to follow(react) white ideas opening. However, King's indian always a good defense for black and i like it.
If i tired playing passive, i like to play caro-kann cause it is kinda aggressive.
Also, i wish you do some quick explanation for each opening that you will use so we could learn more about it. I know that it is easy just to check the internet, yea that's true but i just like the way you explain.
Thank you , more great lessons 😊
Cool Video, watching the whole series, nice and chill ❤
I'd love to see your take on the Danish gambit! You're definitely not playing too slow, hearing your thought process has helped me tremendously with mine.
Your channel is sooo good! Such good info.
super instructive.. your opponents can always find a fast game if they want.... also should realize this is INSTRUCTIVE ..playing a NM...lol ...anyways thank you Nels
I find your content to be among the best for learning the right way to think in game. I really like the way you explain your thought process in this series.
Nelson thank you for the great chess videos. I just started in February and your videos skyrocketed my elo from 800 to 1400. I'm Looking forward to trying your course for players trying to get to 1500, keep making awesome videos!
I think you missed a double threat on 10:40 right after you said no immediate tactics
Can you tell me what's the double threat is?
@@nhn05 Queen to e4
I have learnt a lot from your videos. Your explanations are amazing ❤
Very instructive-Thanks. Opening suggestion: Stonewall System, works in white and black😊
I agree, that's the whole point of me watching - learning
TY nelson, ur a great teacht
Never considered paying for chess lessons, these videos have helped me so much but you know what, let’s try your 1500 course, im 1200 currently but do beat my mate who’s 1700-1900 occasionally (different time controls) 😅 would love to get to 1500tho, and support my favourite RUclips chess guy too 😁
Appreciate that!
Perfect timing. I need this lesson!
Very good teacher, Nelson. Thank you.
Great episode as always! I'd like to suggest again the Glek-system for white, it seems interesting and basically nobody plays it so it might be the secret hot sauce we all were waiting for 😅
This series is amazing. Keep it up!
Really excited for the course! This will be a great birthday present for me :D
If an opponent resigns because you're "taking too long," I have to wonder why he's playing a ten-minute game and not bullet.
I love that you take long and explain each move.
Woho! Finally a Scotch Gambit glad to see it happening after so many attempts, much love Nelson! Hopefully people can get some ideas for this cheeky opening.
What's the benefit of Scotch Gambit?
48:20 I really like you talking through everything. I have learned a lot. Thank you.
thanks man! I've learned more from you than any other chess streamer.
POLISH OPENING PLEASE!!!
I love how you explain.
HI, and thank you very much!:)
It is so realaxing to come into the world of chess, where rationality still resides, and I can have peace and a break from all the craziness going on right now! :)
👍👍👍
I appreciate you talking so much. I’ve learned more from you than anyone else, sorry Levy.
I went from 550 to 700 after just watching 4 of your videos over the last couple days. Seriously! I had been to 750 once before for a few days before dropping down to ~500 again, that time was after watching Pia Cramling explain some openings and ways of thinking! I guess i respond well to instructive watching. (to be fair, I stayed in 500 range to experiment a lot and to try to recognize some patterns)
I've grown so much as a player since watching your vids, I reached over 1600 for the first time last week after being stuck in 1300's last year. Thank you
Nelson, You're speed is just right for me. I'm learning a lot! Syd
@chessvibe been enjoying learning have noticed by taking the scotch gambit was stuck on colle but now have seen a big difference in my play.
“OH !!! Never mind !!”
.
One thing we ALWAYS get with Nelly is honest responses !!
😂
@37:50 ooof pawn checkmate is a brutal & humiliating checkmate for black's king! GG!
34:00, I would have go with bishop D6. Queen has to take back or it's a free piece. Then Knight E4 is a fork with the queen and I don't see any way black can prevent. Not a free piece, but a pretty nice trade.
Was screaming this too
I'm learning the Caro-Kann it would be nice to see that, and the king's gambit is fun as someone in a lower elo!
I listen to all you say boss, it helps me a lot.
Love these videos, 600 is my elo so super helpful!
10:49 battery with queen to e4. Has to take the pawn or you win both rooks or checkmate. If takes pawn you gain a bishop. If moves pawn c6 to stop the rook threat then checkmate with queen takes bishop on e7.
Best teacher out there, I'm struggling over here at 500, i feel like a dipship
This reminds me of the games I played back in the 70s in junior high.
Hi Nelson. I just wanted to mention that, move 14 for white, could have been Be3. Because if 14....Nf6 had taken or not, then 15. Nc6+ would fork the king and queen. Then when king gets out of check, Be3 would take Qc5. I'm referring to the first game. The scotch Gambit.🙂
I watched your other rating climb. Helped me develop allot. Then 400 now 1617
23:34 this triple fork is unbelievably good
48:38 "The Long Winded Gambit" Brilliant!! 😄
In game 2 when the bishop had you in check defended by the knight your opponent was looking for you to move your king to the corner to fork the rook and queen.
The explaining has helped me with the AI I normally play against, but AI is rough for me, it's way more knowledgeable and plays many moves ahead.
take your time on every move and your opponent will get bored and resign😂😂what a tactic
That was so deadpan!
I would love to see the London system or the Caro-kann defense❤
Against the center game, once they play Qe3, I like to play b6 to prepare not only to fianchetto my light squared Bishop, but also to play bc5 gaining tempo on the Queen. I'll consider long castle depending on the position.
This series is SO good
47:59 No no no!!! Keep talking, don't play faster! I've never learned as much as in your rating climb videos! Thank you for this!!!
In a similar vein to the openings you're trying to show, I'd like to see:
Centre Game: Kieseritzky Variation
Never. Rush. This thought process is such an insight. Great content.
Hi Nelson, could you please show me a couple of openings - the Halasz McDonnell Gambit and the Caro Kann. Thanks so much!
Love the series. And you are not playing to slow
10:45min. Qe4, threatening the rook and the bishop looks like a good tactic to me. 😉
Keep explaining its how we learn!
Guidance Mannerz Respect
1Love Balance
I feel bad for your opponents thinking they are playing a 600
Nelson casually grabbing brilliant moves but doesnt show 😣. Show them nelson!!
Honestly the biggest takeaway i always have looking at you play chess is keeping it simple. I always go like oh there must be some tactic after this move, or this plan is great so lets just go for it and im getting in some very complicated positions and end up making mistakes. I noticed you always make moves that lead you into the plans instead of planning to make moves if you understand what i mean. And somehow that makes it so you get into way easier positions than i always end up in.
Instead of developing the queen side knight, if you'd gone Qe4, you have a double threat to take his rook on a8, which would also win the other rook or to take his bishop on e7with a strong check.
At the 10:14 mark, you played pxc6. I think the Queen was better because if … Nxd6, then Qxa8 gets both rooks and the knight because of forced moves (… Nb8 Qxb8 Kd7 Qxh8)
Scotch Gambit + Caro !!!!
In your game against AltoMono, I would have been interested in seeing what the Brilliant move was that showed up in your game review
That "boredom resignation" is a very powerful tactic, but it never works when I play it😢. They always play something else 😂😂😂
could you please play the Vienna gambit or just any Vienna variation please
Video on Sicilian defense!
It is insane that I feel like I think for 10 seconds in between moves and feel pressured. I’m running out of time yet. My guy and most other content. Creators can talk at length in between moves and have plenty time. Of course, my endgame sucks.
52:25 Nd5 would have them block their castling opportunity. So would have Qc8 earlier, which also wouldn’t have setup yourself to be royal forked either.
First game, instead of Nc3, Qd4 was a double attack on the bishop and a8 rook
