- I wanted to experiment a bit with colored pencils on clear gesso. I covered a Fabriano toned paper with Winsor and Newton clear gesso and worked on top of it with Polychromos pencils.

Wonderful! Really creative artist and fun art. What is the technique for drawing trees?
do you use a reference and if so where do you find references i having trouble finding them most of them on pinterest are to complicated thank you for your time reading this hope you can answer this question
Thanks to you I have discovered the sandpaper and gesso technique. I tried several times experimenting with gesso to try and make it as close to that 1000g sandpaper you like. I can't get it exact but it's fairly close I think. I put about 4 layers up/down + left/right - repeat....then I took a fine grit sanding pad and very lightly rub the surface to get that grit down a bit. Like I say its not exact but it feels fairly close. I would LOVE to know your input on this. Please try and let us know?
I haven't tried that many layers but with what I've done I haven't been able to get it to be like sandpaper. Maybe I should experiment s bit more.
Hello, can I ask a couple of questions please? What type of paper and pencils are you using and what difference can paper colour make? Thank you 🙂
Hi, you should watch the video. Everything is explained there. But, to sum up sanded papers make colored pencils behave differently.
I'm curious, how many coats of gesso did you use and did you dilute the gesso with water first?
just one, no dilution.
@@MiroslavSunjkic, thank you.
I see you’ve done some research on the finger oils I told you about
