I looked up the monster from the ending (Remorhaz) to see what it looked like, and noticed while I was doing that that it had almost 200 health. Once Corazon's sneak attack only did like 20 damage I started getting actually worried.
I remember fighting Remorhaz pairs in the game Solasta: Crown of the Magister and they are brutal. As the party sorcerer, I would always have to use Banish on one so that we could focus on one, and if they beat my spell save DC we would all get very worried!

The real sense of threat was all in how he sold it, not in how dangerous the monster actually was because they could've easily slaughtered it in a "normal" combat manner if they so chose, though obviously their solution was way more fun. (Also nice of Luke to ignore the Remorhaz's fire *immunity* when hit by Hellish Rebuke, which also should've been 5d10 because Warlocks up-cast spells to their only spell slot level, which is 4th in Pru's case, but damage was redundant in the end anyway so my rules-lawyering is as moot as it is unsolicited)
Imagine Dob's surprise when he wanders across a tower after several hours of looking for breakfast, going up to the top, walking into the room, and then BAM! All his friends are there. Eggbert looks like he was just riding an inchworm, Merilwen's a bird, Prudence is eviscerated, and Corazon is riding some kind of frozen corpse sled.

I love seeing Luke DM-ing, he seems to relish putting the oxventurers in perilous situations and I'm here for it! The only downside is that I miss Dob's character and Johnny.

Once the question of Ori surviving the avalanche came up, the most important question became: are Millie and Ori orphans? We all know the fate of any orphans in Oxventure.
I can't wait until the final showdown with Liliana leads to a TPK, and then it turns out Egbert can just cast True Wish to bring the Oxventurers back to life and wish Liliana out of existence.

But I love the Luke adventures because he brings his own brand of chaos ala sniper Luigi and the Far cry 5 bowman to the adventure, and he’s awesome 😅 And then to find his music career that I vibe to, Has anyone else made a lot of money this year, for a stranger, they’ve never met?

Prudence really needs to remember to scale up her spells. Hellish rebuke at level 8, which I think they are would be a fourth or fifth level spell, and do significantly more damage. That's how warlocks work. You don't get many spell slots, but every spell levels up with the slot if it possibly can.
I really love seeing Luke DM. He is an amazing DM/GM. I love Johnny, but Luke has his own aspect to DMing the game that only he can do Jane "I have fire resistances!" Luke " its a grease fire, you take full damage. Jane "understandable have a nice day"
Personally I've always preferred Luke's Dming. I feel like he puts more into characters and tends to make things matter more/make things more interesting by making things more dangerous.

Finally the first time in 5 years prudence in prudence's body used hellish rebuke, so good to finally see, can't wait to the new year and the new adventure I love you guys thank you you've made this year amazing

But it's also on the Warlock spell list so even if Prudence weren't a Tiefling she could still have chosen to take it. But as Meredith notes, Luke didn't take into account the automatic upcasting that Warlocks get. I think they have 4th level spells now, right? So she should have been doing 5d10 damage with it, instead.
How is Merilcat offering her belly for rubs not a trap? I imagine she'd go along with it for 5 seconds and then suddenly embrace their arm with her paws, bite their hands as hard as she can while kicking her back legs, as cats do :D Safety advice, don't belly rub cats, unless you're 100% sure they love it, they're comfortable around you and they're in a good mood.
I'm sure he had some backup way to make sure the curse got triggered if the team ignored the globe, but I wonder if Luke had considered in advance that the way it actually happened would be Meowelwen just catting it up.
He didn't! If you watch it back you'll see he deliberately changed the polar bear family (insinuating there were cubs) to a grown polar bear family (so no cute cubs were harmed, just plain old adult offspring). 😂

One thing ive noticed is different between johnny and luke's dm styles is that johnny is more social and interaction focused where as luke is more combat and adventure focused. Like this was practically a proper dungeon run

To be fair to Johnny, they come up with everything going on in the Oxventure universe, Luke just borrows the DM chair once in a while and it's always a one-shot not contained in the main arcs.
Luke could have easily had Cade end up with Kimberly and add a layer for why Dwayne and Cade didn't get along, but that would have been the easy way out. And that's just not his style.
I'd just like to point out That the skeleton hammer was able to claim the flaming skull and add it to its army, and it could even bring previously normal skeletons example the mule skeleton to life, turning them on dad. In other words, they have a magic Hammer that turns any skeletal remains into undead minions. And they have an undead minion that is just a skull. And now they have an undead artifact that is just a finger If they collect enough artifacts like this, do you think they could build an entire body for the flaming skull with wild magical effects like being able to use the spell chilled touch because one of its fingers is a magical artifact.
Mike has been his d&d character for such a long time and he's never mentioned he can attack twice or even tried it, I bet you all of his fellow players and members of the cast are like well that would have been good to know and helpful had he done so more often lol
Interesting note, if it had been 6 months Globe Time watching them outisde for let's say about 5 minutes Real Time, then 1 Real Time year of the sorcerer being inside the globe would be 52,560 years!!!
Well yeah, but they said that without astronomical bodies, they can't really pin down time. So 6 months would be more like 'we were watching you for so long' and not 'this is how long we were watching you for'. I do appreciate that you did the maths though, even if it meant the sorcerer being 52.5 millennia old.

This space has clearly been altered by some form of magic that can alter stuff. Some sort of alteration magic that can alter stuff somehow. Whatever kind of magic that is!
In D&D 5e "Alteration" isn't technically a school(/kind) of magic, the equivalent is "Transmutation", so maybe he was struggling to find that word. I suspect he was just trying to describe it in a meaningful way without knowing/remembering the schools of magic that Detect Magic can identify though, and I think he did that well.

This space has clearly been altered by some form of magic that can alter stuff. Some sort of alteration magic that can alter stuff somehow. Whatever kind of magic that is!
In D&D 5e "Alteration" isn't technically a school(/kind) of magic, the equivalent is "Transmutation", so maybe he was struggling to find that word. I suspect he was just trying to describe it in a meaningful way without knowing/remembering the schools of magic that Detect Magic can identify though, and I think he did that well.
@@lyredrake6761 obviously, he was trying to describe something when he was not sure what it was called. I think he did fine and it was great entertainment. That however, does not mean I can’t comment on it.
@@tjyork7928 Problem is that you can't Transmute a space to be larger than it would normally allow at least not in D&D, unless I am missing something.
