my god. we've been in deadlands for so long I'd forgotten how insane and chaotic a normal oxventure is. They hadn't even left the starting tavern and i was already struggling to breath through the laughter.
Looking forward to re-watching this, having caught it live. Took my very excited son along, whose enjoyment was only enhanced when it turned out that Johnny had given one of the NPCs the same name as him.
Can't wait for the fan art of Prudence victoriously emerging from the flames--Khaleesi style. Fully clothed, of course. this is a family show, after all!

i think its because the orphans were "off screen" when it happened, so they didn't have to describe the process EDIT: they said on their dead space stream that the kids were named after real kids they knew would be watching, and they didn't want to upset them

As a side thought, maybe using physical tokens to track inspiration wouldn't be a bad idea? Like you did with Bennies in Deadlands, because Ellen in particular seemed to forget she had it when she whiffed the roll to throw the rock.
With how off the walls this group gets, I wonder if they ditched the rule of inspiration being yes/no. With some of their hijinks and how frequently Johnny hands it out, they could do with banking them.
I have seen this episode in parts so don't trust my memory 100%, but wasn't that rock throw roll a Dex roll? Would've passed if she added 10 to it, as pass without trace was still active then.

They said something along the lines of how they’d decided that while killing a bunch of unnamed and unseen orphans off screen was one thing, killing a child onscreen while their tiny namesake was probably in the audience was another.

It's in no small part due to the Oxventure, that I gave it a shot - one of the best decisions this year.
