Your review is about the 2018 Version of the Voodoo Bizango-E, the 2020 version comes with shimano motor and battery, which has probably a lower range.
I bought this bike new from Halfords in August 2018.To date I have covered 3100 miles of on/off road with hilly areas. My Bizango has performed excellently. It's Bosch motor shows plenty of torque power in Turbo mode for steep 25% gradients. The original tyres are stillused with plenty of tread still to go! I change the disc brake pads (front & rear at around 500 miles and the chain also at 500 miles. The 400w 36v still shows full charge giving me around 30 miles range inmostly in eco/tour mode. It's great reliable bike for the price paid. I would buy another.
Good to hear. I agree it is a great bike, although l don't have mine anymore. As l travel alot, so got an electric kit for my Brompton and it's easier to transport on my travels.
My son test drove one of these tonight from Halfords and he said it took him up the biggest hill he could find at 15 with ease And it was very quick to get up to speed 👍on sale now for 1600
Halfords might be frowned upon by bike nerds but they have buying power hence the better component specifications you get. I've looked at the Voodoo bikes and I have to agree the build quality is very good. It will likely be my choice as a first time ebike as my wife and I just ride for fun but will appreciate the electrical assistance. 🙂🙂 Good helpful review. 👍👍
I have a Bizango from Halfords and it is a first class bike. Thinking of buying an e version and doing some research. Thanks for the review - very informative.
So if you wanted to switch off the motor, you have to get off and disengage the derailleur clutch? Can you switch it off from the handlebar display instead? That would be a deal breaker for me. Especially if you had a good cadence going!
well to extend the range. If I'm on a long ride, say over 40 miles, and I come to a flat section, I may want to switch the motor off to save the battery. Are they really that hard to pedal without the motor on? If so, can you get a bigger battery for it? Great video btw!
@@roger130 yes you cant go far without the motor on. Very hard to pedal, except going down hill. Dont think u can get a bigger battery, but u can buy two batteries and keep one in a back pack or some kind of bike rack.
You can get them from Halfords, around £50 but use your AA discount if you are a member to get money off. Also try ebay for a good used one at half the price. Thanks Tony.
If u still had it today, it would be worth a few bob. I couldn't afford one, just had a single gear bike and then l stopped cycling for many years. Got old and have now gone electric lol.

Yes l agree, you get a good bike for a good price from them. But their maintenance team are not so good.
Enjoy both of you.
Thanks Tony.

Yes you can, but if u built up speed why do that. It would rapidly slow u down. E bikes are hard to pedal without the motor on.
