    Hi Cameron...it's me again.....the crazy dude who gives you unsolicited points on technique!! 😊 was very dismayed and concerned when i heard that you had been down with that wretched covid shit a while ago .... Wrote you a long note on it and finally didn't send it !!
    Great to see you're back to some really serious training.... If it's ok with you, as a well wisher of yours I'm keen to know if you're back to your old parameters ... your body weight, strength levels, recovery time and your 2k erg PB ..Cheers ..all the best and God bless..!

    • @CameronBuchan
      @CameronBuchan  2 года назад

      Hello! Yes feeling good.no problems now.
      Strength I felt easiest to come back. I PBd in trap bar deadlift last week so I'm up there with strongest I have been. I haven't done a 2k lately so I wouldn't know where I am in that regard but I'd say slower on the erg than my PB.

    • @abrahamkandathil-6036
      @abrahamkandathil-6036 2 года назад

      @@CameronBuchan Hi Cameron..Apologies for the delay in responding..... Good to hear your strength levels for D bar deadlift is at its highest and that you're up there with the strongest ...particularly commendable, since youre about 4 inches taller than the average Rower.
      The acid test ,or at least one of them Im afraid, is the 2k erg.. but im glad you haven't attempted to work on the 2K erg row PB ... strongly recommend that you take plenty of time over it ...step by step..
      Don't know if you're updated on another perspective, entirely different from what the WHO and other international organisations, have been dishing out for the last 2 years Plus.
      Anyway ,as a high level Rower who has to push his body, to extremes, you absolutely need to know about it. Do you think Djokovich refused to take the shot for the Australian open without well researched reasons ?! When interviewed subsequently and posed the question - what he would do if they insisted on the shot for the next grand Slam title? he replied that he wouldn't take it even if he had to never play again, and forego all his titles.!! I've seen that live video. His take is that it's not the virus that's the problem..it's the shot..and that is the problem for everyone..
      I definitely don't want to sound alarmist, but ..unlike Rowing technique this is not about winning.. again unsolicited advice 🙂 but this time it could be about life or well being .. so although have not met you personally, i felt a responsibility to tell you. I've already sent you my mail IDs .. there's stuff I think you need to know and in my opinion it's important you hear it, and there are hopefully some ways to deal with it..as best as possible...have you heard of something called the Great Barrington declaration?.. it's a document signed by 17000 doctors across the globe..stating the true facts.
      All of this must sound weird to you ..that's the reason I ended up not sending the last message also..but this time i thought ..it's irresponsible for me to do that..
      Btw i watched the video of the 50+ guy you helped who wanted to try a 2k erg and finished at 6.22.. . please tell the guy he's quite a phenomenon .. had he trained from the age of 16 which is what Steven Redgrave would have done ..(he won his first Olympic Gold at 22.)he could well have at age 26-31 perhaps hit a lower time than 5:46!
      Cheers , Take care and God bless.

    Cam, what made you choose t oscull with C2s over other oars? I personally switched from c2 skinny with smoothie 2 blade to a set of croker s40s and the difference was HUGE. I am a reasonably advanced rower in terms of technique and I felt that the sleeve design and weight distribution of the crokers allowed me to have quicker catches and cleaner finishes. I noticed during your low intensity 16k your blades hit the water after the release a tiny bit. Maybe if you have a friend who rows crokers ask if you could borrow them for a session. I hope I don't come off as condescending by saying all this but I have been watching your content for awhile and like to imagine living a similar life to yours.
