This DJ Kenny Parker channel is really starting to become the best thing on RUclips (In my opinion) Edit: Kris’s new music is everything it always was, the best in the biz, but the beat selections are kinda generic... would love to hear some throwback scratching in the mix... KENNY, GET ON THERE!!!
More scratching is needed in general! I was listening to Sylk-E's first album last night and was thinking the only thing it needed was some classic scratching.
True Disk Jockeys they really played with the disk making from a scratch a beautiful colorful sound. I'd like to hear a DJ scratch and some KRS-ONE lyrics. Rock on baby 👊🏼❤️💯
Kenny Parker is the greatest story teller. You can tell he doesn’t embellish the story he simply tells it with supreme mastery of vocabulary and clarity! Peace to the whole BDP Scott larock etc. “I think very deeply”….
Ok sssssooooo… I can’t get passed DJKP(@DJAKennyParker). Do you/does hr really talk like that??? I really hope you/he just strayed, cause the obvious reading a script and the grade school edition & jokes… … not cuttin it b…
He telling a complete story with competency, clarity, and emotion because he loves hip hop, his era of hip hop, and respect for the culture and profession of hip hop and rap music genre, hip hop does not have a origin from ignorance, contrary to popular belief
People in the comments saying Reading Rainbow / Kindergarten Class ... don't make Me laugh. Kenny is a DJ not an Actor or Orator. Okay. Give the Brother props for telling Us this event. He wrote everything down perhaps not to forget bits & pieces to this event.
FINALLY!!! I REMEMBER ME AND YOU IN THE CLUB AND YOU TELLING ME ALL THESE STORIES. IM GLAD YOU ARE TAKING THE AVENUE TO SHARE ALL THESE WITH THE WORLD. ITS DOPE!!! SALUTE BRO!!!!!!
Thanks for clearing that up. For the longest time, I didn't know why Big was so offended in that article about the I Am Hip Hop statement....I didn't know other emcees had issues with that statement either
As a Westside nword we always fucked with KRS1. Even we knew what KRS, meant by saying he was Hip Hop. He was and is one of the dopest MCs of all time.
I can sit and listen to your stories all day, man. I read about some of them in magazines and they were talked about on TV here and there back in the day, but nothing beats this. The real stories coming straight from who was there. You're much appreciated.
You a good storyteller. Thank you for sharing. Rest in peace BIG. He will forever live. Yo Kenny tell us about the tennis balls that KRS ONE signs and throws out to the crowd. I got one and a Bronx hat he signed back in like 90 something in Miami. I think the place was called Powerhouse studios. It was moved last minute because there was a shoot out on the block from the original concert venue. KRS literally was in the street and told everybody to follow him to the power house studios close to Wynwood before Wynwood is today. Keep the stories coming.
True and I respect KRS. But that nigga wasn't fucking with Biggie lyrically when he was out. Hell he aint fucking with RAKIM, KOOL G RAP, NAS, and more in my opinion. I don't care how many albums KRS put out and what he's done. That doesn't equate to being a top tier lyricist. It's alright in my opinion. Some of these old school artists get put on pedestal just because they were around during the inception of HIP-HOP. So people will act like they're the best ever when clearly they aren't. They just have a legacy attached to their name and some longevity. People need to start judging best rapper status based on actual skills, flow, cadence, etc. Keep the other shit out of it.
I always took the I Am Hip-Hop slogan as KRS meaning he was and is the embodiment of the Culture having been brought up within everything that Culture was about. Big up Kenny P.
How come people in comments sections still, in 2023, still can't praise Pac without shitting on Big, or Big without shitting on Pac? People act like it's Marvel vs DC out this bitch.
Hey big bro...just want to say thanks...thanks for the story but most of all the music, you guys are one of a kind and your impact is timeless....much love brother
Phenomenal story. KRS-One is an awesome guy, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him 3 or 4 times through my best friend, Triune and I also ran into him randomly at the Simi Valley Mall back in 2013. I’m happy to hear the confirmation of that Canadian Magazine “Peace” that a lot of people have been skeptical about for so many years.
My cousin met Kris at a gas station,we live in Baltimore. He walked up to the great one and talks to him. Kris actually took the time to build with him, gave him a signed copy of his 1st book. Love... I was pissed 🤣
I Love these positive stories in hip hop. We need way more of these. With Love, respect & communication nations are built. Much love & blessings to you brother. Just found your channel and instantly subbed brother. 🤜🤛.
Another first for KRS-1: He was the first to use the term "I Am Hip Hop" and it may have seemed like just something to say back in the 90's, but when you see Rakim and Lil'Wayne with it on their shirts & an I Am Hip Hop Awards show it shows that it is an empowering statement about the pride we have of Hip Hop. So Thank You For That KRS-1 You Stated It First!
quick story: I called the record label the day after Scott died.(phone number was on the album cover of Criminal Minded) Mcboo answered the phone, told me what happened. that shit was crazy. but didnt believe it until "my philisophy" dropped. I was like 12yrs old then... r.i.p. Scott La Rock
love Biggie but, that was hypocritical of him to get angry for what Kris said, when the Source Magazine & Biggie proclaimed himself the "King of NY". That Source magazine cover pissed off a lot of rappers, including Ghostface from Wu-tang.
As a listener to KRS the I am Hiphop was universal message that those who loved Hiphop could also identify that we ourselves are Hiphop. I don't see how it was so misunderstood. It made those of us who were involved with Hiphop to feel that we also were Hiphop
It was PROPS Magazine. Not Peace. That interview does exist. It was the same interview that caused Big to get jammed up in Sacramento by people who loved E-40.
KRS-1 is the greatest MC of all time. KRS-1 is King Hop-Hop. I love this story. And you're absolutely right. Hip Hop never recovered after the Deaf of B.I.G & Tupac. I am so glad the beef was squashed between B.I.G & the Great KRS one. 🫶🏽
Great story, Bro your Brother just performed here in Albany ,NY with Busta and Spliff Star , and to me one of the founding fathers of Hip Hop Curtis Blow and he pop locking on stage with KRS , Melle Mel was also there it was crazy they was taking pictures and selfies with everybody , it was for the Black, Puerto Rican , Asian Caucasus it was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was a good story good to see you guys was able to smooth things out before things went left...wish big and pac could of sat down and communicated before things turned deadly (great pics never saw those pics with KRS1 and biggie)
Excellent story. I didn't know any of this. It's good to show how a beef can be avoided. You don't get many documentaries made about that (BEEF series).
Yo. I don’t know if it’s because of how well articulated my man is, or if it’s his choice of strong pauses or how he drawls certain words, but I truly feel like Parker is telling me a bedtime story. Like if someone was guest reading to kids at an elementary school library or something. I dig it, it’s quite soothing to listen to, to be honest lol.

I'm 39 years old and I grew up on KRS ONE and BIGGIE music and I never knew they almost clashed ... This was a dope ass story .. Shout out to Kenny❗🫡
Rap is something you do, hip hop is something you live ! 🐐
I love Kenny Parker's storytelling. It always sounds like an episode of Reading Rainbow. 😅

Great story! Krs One was smart and professional to hold off on a diss record to see how it all played out first.
Bro you articulate these points sooooo well. Details andddd receipts!!
Thank you! I appreciate that.
No comparison bro .. krs 1 is in a class by him self .. his a philosopher and a teacher ..
I rember KRS1 and Public Enemy used to rap about big political problems. Miss that.
