car used to make em back in ny back in the late 80s. Afrocentric leather/pleather goods was a big part of NY culture back then and a lot of cats used to make em from home..
In my opinion, from listening to most of the music from X-Clan, I never really saw it as a diss, I just thought that BDP were looking too hard into the subliminals. I think brother J was much too intelligent to do something like that, when it came to dissing other MC’s, he was pretty straightforward with it. No, I’m not saying he wasn’t dissing BDP, but I just didn’t see it that way. I am so so so happy and satisfied that Kenny address the situation with African Bambaataa. What a shame that his brother didn’t address it exactly the same way. I could care less that AB was a ginormous influence in hip-hop history, he is, and will always remain a pedophile and has something really interesting coming to him one of these days.

Its funny how me being a fan of both groups miss this beef. Its also funny how this beef was serious to them and their circles but outside of that. no one knew or cared. glad it was squashed but brothas need to realize, their small beefs mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.
I will say one thing, though, if you live deep in Brooklyn and somebody wants to do a meeting with you way out in the Bronx, you damn right I’m coming there strapped Also, it shows how lazy Zulu nation was that this meeting had to take place in the Bronx, not too far away is the triborough bridge and right over the tri borough bridge off to the side is Astoria houses where there’s also a Zulu nation chapter. BDP as well as X clan could’ve took themselves a short little trip and met up at a neutral site to conduct this meeting.
