@@frugallandlord6974 Thanks for the video, and thanks for replying to the comment. I wish others would have the decency to reply. They rarely show how they make their plows.
@@albion2742 you are welcome, I think the frame for the plow cost close to $400 so I just welded up some pieces of scrap and made my own, but I made it just slightly too tall for me to be able to hang one side of the plow in the driving position at a time so I need to lift both sides to rack it, the plow is very light so its not very difficult, if it was I would have fixed the issue already, Thanks for watching and have a great day!
I love these plows for their simplicity. Very little can break and if anything does break its simple to fix. I bought one this summer and just got my first house. Actually excited for the snow to come. Thanks for the video. Nice to see the amount of snow doesnt hinder its ability to push, and even if it did im sure i few more passes would help get the desired finish.
Eric Morin, yes I also like the plow for its simple design and operation, understand it’s limitations and you won’t be disappointed, the rubber bottom means it won’t scrape off hard packed snow and ice, I have used my plow many times with no signs of wear so I’m sure it will probably last forever. Thanks for the comment.
You tenants may not realize how lucky they are to have a landlord that cares. Our landlord has the equipment but has only plowed it 4 times in 20 years.
Christie, Thanks for the kind words, I do care because these are good people, most of them work everyday to pay lot rent to me, as well as feed their family, I also feel that is my job as the landlord. I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching
1:19 That truck is fuel injected, pumping the gas pedal does nothing. Also, better not to revv it ice cold. Have you used any other plow? If not, you will be surprised how well a power angle plow like a Fisher, Western, Meyer works. If you are mechanical you can get a used one pretty cheap and install it yourself. Something to consider since you are servicing your tenants. Plow with the storm, not all at once!
I have the Snowsport plow. That is not how you put the plow back up. You will certainly hurt your back or jam your fingers if you keep doing it that way. Use the handles on each end of the plow and lift one side at a time. Also there is a pin system with bungee to lock plow in place. You use that to drive around at normal speeds. Without pins in place the plow can bounce right off if you hit a bump or a pot hole. Can severely damage plow or your truck as a result. Be frugal but also smart.
I built the whole mount myself and it’s a little too tall to lift one side at a time it hangs up, I need to cut it down a little lower, also I have bolts through the top to hold it when driving down the road, I think I showed that on the video.
I dont know how you plow with that man. You did a good job with it. I would have already torched that thing off my truck lol. In sure it does a lot less damage to your truck than my 7.6 western does to my chevy 1500.
Michigan Lake Life; All that matters is that I get it done and my tenants can get to work or to town, it’s not the greatest but it’s good enough, thanks for the comment.
Well if you have a half a brain it's really not that hard. I've had so called real plows and my snow sport does just as good. If you know what you're doing of course. Some people are just brain dead
Chuck Chillson, it’s good enough for me to keep it a few more years, if it breaks somehow, I might consider something different, honestly it does all I need it to do, thanks for watching.
The plow does a horrible job. Its an extremely cheap designed for homeowner use. Spend the money and get an actual plow with a steel cutting edge. Residents will be a lot happy and will help mitigate risk of slip and falls
@ mike squires seeing your profile pic I remember commenting on another stupid comment you made on a plowing video quite some time ago. This plow does an excellent job for what it is and bravo to this guy for getting it done for the people who live here. I don’t care what plow it is, nothing is ever going to do such a great job that there’ll be no ice/snow left behind.
That's not frugal. That's just being cheap. You should have plowed it 3x in that 24 hours. Or better yet, pay for a professional service. If you can't afford a professional service, you are a joke of a landlord.
The most honest and thorough demonstration I've seen in a long time
angryadrien, thank you, I am taking that as a compliment, I really appreciate it and thanks for watching

@@frugallandlord6974 Can you give more details on how exactly you made the plow? I have an f150 myself and want to plow this winter
Great job
Thanks.😀

Frugality does not mean you can't get the job done. Excellent video thanks for sharing!
Thanks
Thanks for the info friend.

never used any other plow and I am still using this one with no plans to upgrade anytime soon.
Not a bad job, what ever works 👍
Thomas opito Thanks I’m sure there are better ways to do it but I like it because it is simple and easy. Thanks for watching and have a great day!
that's a nice setup
DomLimited, it’s definitely one of the cheapest setups but it works and it’s very reliable, I have had no problems with it, thanks for watching.
Say what you will, but this still beats a shovel all day long...lol
Yeah for sure.

Even got the classic cheap landlord coat.
Christopher Bloom, Ha Ha, I didn’t know that was A thing, I just wear it because it’s the warmest coat I have.
this is the type of snow plowing people shouldn't consider u cant just not plow when its only 2-3 inches,,!!!
thanks but yeah sometimes it only snows a few inches and done, honestly a waste of time and money to plow 2 inches if that’s all you have
How can be of any use it you can't angle it or back blade with it?

Time for a new set up
still using this thing and its fine for me
