This song summed up the entire revival. We expected all the characters to have these amazing futures like other shows like friends, where everyone gets their dream. But the revival shows us real life, lane never becomes a rock star, lorelai never has her children, Rory doesn’t become a successful journalist, they just follow in their families footsteps like repeating the history. Hence the pregnancy and Lorelai venturing into become corporate like her father and lane working in the antique shop.
I cry every time I hear it because it is just me & the dog at 50. Never been married, can't have kids. I GET this so much, especially since I'm disabled and can't work either.

I had the same experience. I SOBBED and couldn't stop for like, two hours. It resonated on a level I still don't understand. I get teary everytime I listen - and for some reason, I can't stop listening to it. I also really felt for the character of Lorelai. I wanted to reach through the tv and hug her 💜

It's a brilliant piece of writing and I really want to share it with the world but I don't think everyone would understand it as we would. My favorite moment of the entire A Year In The Life series. I am a lot like Lorelai, even if our lives are very different, and I cried for me, for Lorelai, for Luke, for Stars Hollow...and for Lauren Graham being such a good actress she doesn’t need to speak. Loved it.

Yes, Lauren said that there wasn't one take where she wasn't sobbing. She spent a lot of the revival with tears in her eyes. Snatch up her book Talking As Fast As I Can, it's lovely! (PS, there's an audiobook and her narration makes it so much fun!)

The only part of the revival I absolutely loved. I felt so many emotions and this song is so relatable. It is absolutly amazing and I believe Lauren Graham as well as the perform did a commendable acting job in this scene. It felt very raw. I just started watching Bunheads (and this looking up Sutton Foster all over the place) and I know the show was also by Amy Sherman Palladino so the vibe is similar to GG anyway but there are genuine moments where I see Sutton’s character and I’m like “this is Lorelei”

This scene shows the range of what the lovely Lauren Graham is capable of. She shows us Lorelais self esteem as she enters Miss Pattys while Taylor and the others reprimand her with their eyes, Lorelais inhibited openness, her self-doubts, her fragilty. Lauren Graham is capable to break down the whole emotional journey of a fictional character that was carefully built up in seven seasons into a cathartic moment for her character and for the audience in just this one scene. Give her an Emmy, FFS!!!
Absolutely. Did you catch near the end of the song, where she blinks her eyes deeply for a moment, and keeps them closed? It is the EXACT same expression she had when she told Luke she couldn't marry him because she had slept with Christopher. Both broke my heart into a million pieces.

To be honest, I only started watching Gilmore Girls because I read somewhere that Sutton Foster was in it, then read that she was only in the revival, in one episode. I had already began watching the series and liked it but was still looking forward to seeing Sutton. The first scene I saw her in, I got excited because I love her as a performer, but then this song came on, right at this moment in my life, and it just described everything I'm feeling right now and it made me love her and the show even more. I can honestly say I totally fit this song and am like Rory. Growing up, I knew just who I was; an actor. I had plans (not just a dream) to move to Hollywood after graduating high school. But I wen onto Community college as a backup, just in case (my mom's idea). Found out I was not college material and flunked some classes. So not really a student right now. Than decided to stay in CO until after my 10 year reunion. My phrase was "I want to see if my friends remember me for me, and not just cause I am a celebrity". Well, I am 36 years old (in 3 years will be my 20 year) and given up on the goal of being a celebrity. I really needed to hear this song, cause this is exactly how I feel at this point.

I remember that show, about ballet! It only lasted a very short time, unfortunately. The lead character was a lot like Lauren Graham. Lots of appearance from GG characters too, Paris, Emily, even Kirk. I sure miss that show.

I sat and cried my eyes out when I watched the show. It struck a chord. It was like she was singing my life. Bravo to the writers. The writing of the show was always of the highest caliber and these 4 episodes are no different. I hope they film another series of episodes or even better, a spin-off focusing on Rory. That's all I will say so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for? Go watch it!

This was heartbreaking for me. I lost a baby then, broke up with someone I thought it was the love of my life… my career went down and literally it was me and my dog. The song stuck in my head for so long jn one of the worst moments in my life. It was a nightmare, I cried my eyes out, I sobbed and question everything in my life with that song. Pure perfection, a moment so real. Everything is fine now, but that song came in my life just in the moment I was broken.

To be honest, I only started watching Gilmore Girls because I read somewhere that Sutton Foster was in it, then read that she was only in the revival, in one episode. I had already began watching the series and liked it but was still looking forward to seeing Sutton. The first scene I saw her in, I got excited because I love her as a performer, but then this song came on, right at this moment in my life, and it just described everything I'm feeling right now and it made me love her and the show even more. I can honestly say I totally fit this song and am like Rory. Growing up, I knew just who I was; an actor. I had plans (not just a dream) to move to Hollywood after graduating high school. But I wen onto Community college as a backup, just in case (my mom's idea). Found out I was not college material and flunked some classes. So not really a student right now. Than decided to stay in CO until after my 10 year reunion. My phrase was "I want to see if my friends remember me for me, and not just cause I am a celebrity". Well, I am 36 years old (in 3 years will be my 20 year) and given up on the goal of being a celebrity. I really needed to hear this song, cause this is exactly how I feel at this point.

I sat and cried my eyes out when I watched the show. It struck a chord. It was like she was singing my life. Bravo to the writers. The writing of the show was always of the highest caliber and these 4 episodes are no different. I hope they film another series of episodes or even better, a spin-off focusing on Rory. That's all I will say so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for? Go watch it!

This was heartbreaking for me. I lost a baby then, broke up with someone I thought it was the love of my life… my career went down and literally it was me and my dog. The song stuck in my head for so long jn one of the worst moments in my life. It was a nightmare, I cried my eyes out, I sobbed and question everything in my life with that song. Pure perfection, a moment so real. Everything is fine now, but that song came in my life just in the moment I was broken.
