The new crimper was the right size, good call on switching it! Loved the dumbbell holding her in place while you crimp!
I went to the markets yesterday and found a brunette totally hair Barbie and her dress twice, I never see the dresses just the nude dolls or them wearing something random, I also found some other dolls all for under 50 cents a piece, people here usually are not trying to make a profit, just to clear out their unwanted items so they sell things super cheap!
So thanks to that find now my totally hair Whitney has a dress and a brunette Barbara buddy! XDDD
The dress came out amazing I think the stiffness is actually good because it'll prevent it from creasing again, I do that too but never have used fabric medium, that was clever, I only use acrylic directly on the fabrics!
Restoring a doll really makes you appreciate her more than buying something new in box, it gives you this pride and bond with them that you don't get from just owning something.
I would love a totally hair whitney! I believe she was a european release so it’s not likely I’ll run into her in the shops

My friend bought me a few vintage Barbie’s and I got an unexpected sunsations skipper from 1980 I think, she’s not wearing her original swimsuit or sunglasses but her box is in pretty good condition and the accessories were still intact in the box. I’ve never really been into skipper dolls but she might be a fun makeover if you want her.

I would maybe try to soak the dress in very cold water with ice cubes and white vinegar so it doesn’t discolour much, that way it might lose some stiffness. But well… it is a risk, maybe the color really gets messy and uneven 🤷♂️
The paint is pretty sturdy. I definitely think it will hold up to a washing.
I have that Belle doll but she's a OOAK from the 90s a doll artist remade her into Joan Crawford. Wish i knew who the artist was. I threw away her box.

Hi Manny! I think the Disney doll could be 1991 Belle (Mattel 2433). She's worth about $35 NRFB. Used about €10-15. I like her sparkly eyes and closed mouth... 🤐 Porque en boca cerrada no entran moscas 🪰🤣
