The beauty of this show is that all the characters are so endearing. Herman especially just cracks me up when he gets frazzled and childlike. I mean anyone would love to have a friend like Herman in their life.
I have this show on DVD and I love to watch Herman and grandpa get caught up in their antics; I love Herman's childish tantrums; Darn! Darn! Darn! Darn! Darn! 😄
I loved The Munsters as a kid when it was on tv and now, I'm in my 60s and I love it even more. Yvonne Dicarlo was just wonderful and beautiful. Al Lewis was at his very best. He is such an enigma. Butch was great, the 2 Marilyns and our Herman, Fred Gwyen he will always be remembered as Herman was brilliant . The combination of Gwyen and Lewis were great in Car 54 Where Are You, and just continued the success to The Munsters.
Although the setting for the Munsters is weird, there is much humanity in each episode. A family where each member cares for each other and when there are problems, they work it out in the end.
I totally agree. I think that's what I have always liked best about this show. The first impression we would normally get is that this is a weird family that does weird things but much of what they do, aside from Grandpa's crazy magic is like a normal everyday family. The shock part is when others et frightened when they meet up with them and when the Munsters look back at them weirdly and say stuff like oh, they must have been in a real hurry to go somewhere.

I watched both The Munsters and Addams Family when new, and I always preferred The Munsters. The cast and storylines were alot better. I liked Herman, Eddie, and grandpa. They were funny, and their chemistry with each other was strong.
I just found this episode again and discovered that the actor who played the boarder, Charles Bateman, is still alive at 90 years old!
He somewhat resembles JFK. Great Show!

I love this show. 1969, we got our first color tv. Even though this show's in b&w. The new tv was able to pickup the new UHF Channel. Which showed the Munsters and other great shows. I was about 6.
This show is a beloved classic. I watched it new, as a child, and have always liked it. I am surprised it is even on You Tube, in full eps, as it's really hard to find old sitcoms in their complete form on You Tube. This episode is funny.

I love how the writers of the show interweaved things that were contemporary to the 1960’s. The mention of the TV version soap opera Peyton Place.

Used to enjoy the munsters as a teenager. Just forgot how enjoyable it still is.
Owl eggs and vulture livers don't sound too bad. I'd give it a try. A little hot sauce makes everything better.

Its not of anything as it was of when these shows where made of the time when life was really. Good for everyone. And this country had of values which its not of in today. Its shows inthat of all things not just in one

reruns of these shows were on TV in the 70s, I just didn't find The Adam's Family stories to be interesting, it was always someone trying to take their money and getting scared off. Both had great casts.
I actually enjoyed both shows. Why choose?

I don't recall seeing Yvonne in many movies, I know she was in 10 Comandments and a John Wayne movie, but don't recall much else

Absent here, but this was the first episode that added the sound of the door crash to the theme song.
This show is so perfectly cast. Each one is so interesting and funny. Herman is the big loveable ham, Lilly is the elegant Goth Queen, Grandpa is the conniving prankster mad scientist cigar smoking vampire, and Eddie is their adorable impressionable child with a widow's peak and fangs and Marilyn is Marilyn. What a perfect show! Thank You Munsters 🙏 😊

Watched the Monsters back in the mid 80s in Los Angeles on KTLA Channel 5. I actually learned English watching wholesome shows like this one.

I know everyone always says it but man yvonne de carlo was so hot. As a kid in the 90s our family always watched 10 commandments every easter and used to think wow zipporah is so hot. Didn't know that was lily munster at the time.
