When you think of the high scoring era that he pitched through with record runs and HR, and then you look at his stats, there is a strong argument for him being the best pitcher ever

I honestly do think that he is the best Starting pitcher of all time. The fact that he mowed down roided Up AL East hitters was incredible. In my opinion, he did it better than any other starter in the steroid era.

@Ray Pellerin Agreed. And Pedro was dominant during the heart of the steroid era, which makes what he did even more impressive. The only other pitcher to be as dominant over a finite period as Pedro was Sandy Koufax, and while no disrespect to Koufax, he didn't have throngs of steroid monsters to pitch to in his heyday.
When Pedro was in his prime and was on his game, there hasn't been ANY pitcher better in the history of MLB.

Whats ironic was Pedro was considered the smallest (which he was) and least talented of the 3 Martinez brothers (Ramon, Pedro and Jesus). Jesus was the lefty and supposed to be the best of the family but flamed out in the minors whereas Ramon was the Dodgers Ace in the mid 90s but lost his stuff when he suffered the same shoulder injuries that Pedro would experience late.

Radel Gratereaux Gautreaux After what this bitch did, throwing down an 80 year old Don Zimmer, you should be embarrassed that he's Dominican. You should be proud of someone who deserves it like Vlad Guerrero. pedro martinez is just a trash human being. Who would do that to an overweight 80 year old man who could barely move? He's a total disgrace.

Between August 1999 and April 2000, Martínez had ten consecutive starts with 10 or more strikeouts. Only three pitchers have had as many as seven such starts in a row, and one of those was Martínez himself, and he averaged more than 15 strikeouts per nine innings during his record 10-game streak..... But take your pick between Pedro/Maddux as the best overall pitchers of this generation

It was a different game back in Pedro's day. Plus he was basically playing against accountants.
They didn't understand anything about nutrition and exercise back then. And today the game is way more complex.
So Pedro would definitely have problems today. He might still be an all star though that's debatable

Cowherd was right , baseball is for simple Simons who never looks in the mirror , It doesn't take a genius to manage a major league team , it just takes someone who can speak Dominican . I can't speak any language but English so I'm gonna leave baseball for the kids. Yes pedro too!

Its not easy to manage but it doesn't take a genius to manage either. To be a manager you have to deal with a lot of pressure and hate. So you can't have an average joe managing a team either.

To be honest , I haven't watched much baseball in the last 10 years. I started watching baseball around 1980 and by 1983 I started to pull for the cubbies . I didn't have cable TV growing up , so I only got to watch on NBC game of the week. I loved the game of baseball but like so many people the steroid era ruined my memories . I had cable in all of the 90s and I watched a ton of wgn. There's no way on earth that I'm gonna throw them years away , and all the playoffs and world series still counts . I watched Sammy Sosa hit a ton of homers and to see it all be for nothing is horrible . I've accused pedro of being on steroids and I have no Idea what the man did behind closed doors . All I no is little Fernando Vina got caught and he was skinny and never hit more than 15 homers in a season. Bonds, Mcgwire , Palmiero , and Sosa were called in front of Congress and it damaged them big time . Big Papi fails a ped test and nobody mentions that. Manny Ramirez failed a ped test . It's sad because I thought I would always watch baseball . .. I was wrong

Bet he took steroids too , he just didn't get caught . I'm finished with baseball. Colin Co herd is right . The great American past time died when everyone threw the steroid users under the bus . If all the steroid users would step to the plate maybe healing could begin . If I'm supposed to throw away R Palmiero , Sammy Sosa , Mark Mcgwire , Barry Bonds , Roger Clemons , A Rod , then I'm tossing out pedro Martinez , John Smolts , and Randy Johnson cause at the end of the day they are all involved . Baseball is done.

Yeah I get to have my belief , and I think when a big league ballplayer needs to re hab an injury they take some steroids. So I get my own beliefs , and I believe this year's hall of fame r were all juicers who didn't get caught . If you want to believe he's clean as a whistle then that's your belief. Hypocrite is something completely different so maybe you can read the dictionary cause I don't believe I need to clue in on a secret...yes pedro too
