I share in the gratitude expressed in the comments. My mother brought me to see the Black Watch when they preformed in LA in 1968 (?) I was 5. I have loved them since, and this is as close to re-experiencing that performance as I have been honored. Thank you.
Attended twice, 1st time from a low seating, wonderful experience. 2nd time seating was hire, even better to be able to see the intricate march with the music, outstanding !! Boston Garden old and New Garden
Thanks, Frank. In 1989, I arrived late to the Rosemont Horizon performance and missed the first 15 minutes of the program! Also, thanks again, It wasn't as easy to record such an event as the equipment was much heavier and bulkier. God Bless you and your efforts! Sincerely, Nathan in Chicago 🇺🇲 🇨🇦 🏴🇬🇧
@@hardingswealthmanagers4995 Jay Smith fount it! It was from the Coldstream Guards and the QOH America tour. Tune is "From a Distance". Thank you sir for helping. Been searching for this tune for about 10 years now.
I'd just joined the band in June 89' so was very new to this. Epic 72 city tour of America and Canada and many fond memories. Remembering Taffy and Tam getting rolled by hookers, big Shock playing jazz as we marched off, big Cammy, wee Dougie, Colin who though he could play higher than me (trumpet players), the old joke "why does your BSM play 3rd clarinet? because there's no 4th!", Phil Lee (the worlds worst tuba player) but had served with the battalion in Aden in the 60's, big Andy Ramsay (top bloke), the wild ice-filled-with-beer parties with air hostess's, Disney Land, Boise in Idaho (those Mormon girls were wild). 30 years ago but remember it like yesterday.
Did you play Estes Park, Colorado Scottish Festival? If you did I was with the US Army Civil War era Fife & Drum Corps who shares the YMCA barracks with you.

I attended one Black Watch concert in the 1990s and afterwards bought a few CDs. I highly recommend seeing the live performance. AWESOME!
Was a member of the Black Watch Regimental Band on this tour, Tuba Player.
Sir, please read my comment written separately.

@@allancameron9223 it was 31 years ago but it was either Highland Cathedral or Rose of Kelvingrove. I have the cd so will go through it and make sure
@@allancameron9223 As Jay smith said, one of those two.
It's Rose of Kelvingrove
THAT WAS IN KITCHENER ONTARIO Canada i was a piper and drummer the Canadian chief of Canada's military and our Scottish regimental unit from Scotland
Don't remember going to Kitchener Ontario on that Tour.
The MC even said the guest of honour was the Lieutenant Governor of BC so why would this be Kitchener Ontario
I remember your name from my younger years. Angus Pearse was my old man.
Nice one Malkie.
Respect...
Also found a good few on Tubi.
Gordon Jamison then became a bin cleaner....
Crikey.
Magnificent open-order marching by crossing musicians. One small point: the place-name is spelt "Argyll", plural "Argylls".
I wish you had kept the pipe band and dancers portions of the concert.

There's no 'e' in Argyll.
is this the British Black Watch and Argyles or the Canadian ones?
This is the Black Watch and the Argylls from Scotland -- their home country.
The Scottish Regimental Bands and Pipes and Drums.
@@AllansStation They’re british to the core. Founded by the british to police the highlands for the british crown. Part of divide and rule tactics.
Need more of the pipes in the video, too much of the argyll and black watch band
