One of our Florida dealers (who were at the show) charges a delivery fee, even on their lot. For a 22' couples travel trailer the fee was $1800. The trailer was on their lot in inventory, but they wanted us to pay to get it there from Indiana. We walked away.
As always, MJ and Izzy, great advice! I wouldn't recommend anyone starting out shopping for an RV without doing a lot of homework first, not just about a particular unit, but also research dealerships to be sure you make the best choice for you and your family. And if your sole focus is on price alone, remember: The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
It’s soo hard to find a trustworthy dealership these days . . . and a lot of online reviews could be “paid for” . . . It seems nothing is very trustworthy anymore . .
Don't think that if you are a repeat customer that dealers won't try to get over on you. As we make a deal for a new RV at Tampa GRV tried numerous times to add in cost. We finally just walked out after the 2nd time. They quickly tracked us down and pulled all the fees off and started talking out the door price. Show discounts are great, if they stick to them. If not walk
I got scammed when purchasing my rv from out of state dealer. I had seen the model I wanted locally but it wasn’t available. Went online found a dealer few hours away, contacted them made a great deal and decided to go for it. Pulled my trade down there, and the scam began. Oh it needed this or that, it’s going to cost us. All the while they have already taken my TV to switch hitches and set up for new TT. Did walk through of new, came back to sales office and the deal had increased. Went from no $$down to couple thousand. I should have walked then but they kept pressing the sale. I went ahead with it because I was so frustrated and upset I just wanted to get out of there! I later learned through FB the person that was purchasing my trade. The dealer said they would have to pay for items that I had already “paid for “ in my deal!! I was able to advise them not to, that I had already paid!! The dealer then also gave them the run around with their deal !! Horrible experience on both parts!!
Hi Izzy and MJ! Great video! Great advice. I would do that get an inspector and and do anything I can for my Rv so I don’t get scammed. I would get the best protection for and in the Rv. Great advice as always. Thank you Izzy and MJ!
Definitely gotta watch those scams !!! We’ve been “offered” the camping membership with each new rig that we’ve purchased. We’ve never used any of the memberships offered 😁
I thought camping world and general rv would be good dealers to trust and work with they have really took advantage of me since 2018 general rv in north canton ohio charged me$800 for stuff on a 2023 holiday rambler that was supposed to be warranty work and said that it was normal so I went to Blue Compass Rv in Cincinnati ohio...been the best so far

We were so close at show last week, but pressure and quick sale made it feel super shady. It should be an enjoyable process not stressful
It’s important to trust your gut feeling when buying an RV.
This is a big issue that affects a lot of RVers. Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
Great info, glad I researched, got an independent inspector and passed on their warranty. I’d rather save the $4000 as an emergency fund.

Even if they don't bend you over their desk you can STILL get screwed badly!
Would like to know the dealership’s name !!! So I don’t go there !
Great information and reminders for anyone looking to join the rv life!

Well if the seller is Camping World then you know it’s a scam.
Thanks for the tips
