Congrats on finishing Summer Quaker, it's beautiful! Glad WIPGO is working for you. Great Bear story, but glad no one was around to get hurt. We have Deer that come at night & not only destroy the seed feeder, but they pick the flowers off the Hummie feeder & suck the sugar water out! So, we have to bring everything in at night. Marilyn
As usual, you are so inspiring! Stunning finishes. Each one is beautiful 😍 I hope the weather cooperates and you get to go camping soon. Can’t wait to see your finish of Humming of the Bees.
Love seeing your finishes, Chris! I would vote for framing the peacock and painting the frame a mossy or even avocado green. Think the teals would just pop then. Such a beautiful piece!
Love watching your videos and seeing all of your beautiful work! For the peacock… LOVE the circular frame; I’d paint it to match one of the deeper greens. It’s so hard to find a good circular frame that works with one of your pieces so this one seems like a given to use it for the peacock. So glad you’ll be at the Library Stitchers Retreat next year!! I cannot wait!!
Hey Chris, I wanted to vote for the round frame painted for the peacock would be perfect. I can't wait to see what you decide to do with it. I live around bears too, my bear story is from a few years ago when I heard a cry over and over again from the woods behind our house, I thought it was an injuried bird, but it was a bear cub that had been eating from a fallen tree (small tree), which i think the tree had rolled alittle as he was eating and he thought he was caught there. My dad came over and scared the cub (from a distance, we knew the mama bear was close) once the cub got scared, he was able to break his self free from the tree. It was scary but sweet all at the same time. Thanks again for sharing your stitching and your stories. Take care!
Hi, Chris! It’s so nice to see you again! Girl, I am so in love with your Summer Quaker!!! Lila’s Studio patterns are always so gorgeous, and I think this one is just outstanding. You’ve done a beautiful job on it! 💙 I love how you’ve done your project cards, too…what a great idea. And, I love your plans to do Halloween Quaker on that gorgeous purple fabric…so different! You are an amazingly prolific stitcher, and I am so glad you share all the goodness with us! Happy stitching until next time. ☺️ Meline
I think the purple for your Halloween stitch is awesome! I'm glad you made it into the retreat... if I were only a little younger, I'd love to go. A big thank you for all you do!
All of your stitchy pieces are beautiful. Summer Quaker is my favorite. I have the pattern and am waiting for the fabric to come into the shop I ordered it from. Those bears can be pretty amazing. Up in the hills near Los Angeles, the bears like to come down and use peoples’ swimming pools. They hang out for a bit and then take off. Bears wandering around that particular area have become quite common. All I have are coyotes which have become a big problem as well as raccoons and opossums. I enjoyed hearing your camping story and hope your bear buddy moves on.
Use that circular frame for the peacock! Paint over it with a medium turquoise and let it somewhat dry and wipe some off. It'll be gorgeous! I love watching your flosstubes
I just love seeing your finishes and don’t know when you sleep! Beautiful finishes, and love your WIP’s! I am going to the Library Stitchers retreat and am so excited to meet you! Your bear story was scary! I love feeding birds too, and luckily all I have to deal with are chipmunks, squirrels, and deer! Your Halloween Quaker is going to be beautiful on the raspberry fabric!
My son has a small pot of veggies growing up on his deck. We are just waiting for the bearfeast to happen. So many beautiful finishes Chris. It gives me hope...lol.
Beautiful beautiful finishes! Thank you for sharing! I need to get busy on my summer Quaker, let love reign, and I just kitted up the peacock pin cushion. I love the round frame from hobby lobby. I’m going to try and find that frame at my hobby lobby. Happy stitching!
I love your Summer Quaker. I am going to start mine in August for my birthday start and I am doing it on 20-count aida so I am hoping that mine turns out as beautiful as your's is. The Halloween Quaker is going to be awesome on that fabric. My favorites right now are Tiny Modernist and The Prairie Schooler. Your camp fire stories are the best. I have never seen a bear in person and I hope I never do. We have racoons, red foxes, red tail hawks, bats, skunks and then the regular birds. I use to feed the birds but the Starlings were bullying the little birds so I stopped feeding them. I do have a bird bath for them but that is all. Happy Birthday. Happy Stitching.
I love that fabric for Halloween Quaker! It's going to be fun to watch that come together. My fingers are crossed we get a break from the humidity soon!
Summer Quacker is gorgeous!! Cant wait to see it framed!! Yes, i have seen the lighthouse!!! 😁 That peacock is so elegant!! I would paint the frame, maybe gold, and frame it. You've been busy, beautiful finishes!! I leave my patriotic decor out till after Labor Day. I watch Alone, but havent been able to get into Skinwalker Ranch, but my husband loves it. Blame it on the delivery guy!!! Lol!!!
Great finishes. You get a lot done lol. You should enter them in your County and State Fairs. I didn't win Best in County, but my Peter and Peep by With Thy Needle did get Best of Division. I started my Halloween Quaker in 2023 on 40 count Murky. I haven't worked on it for a bit because the area where the bats are is really dark and hard to see the holes. Otherwise, it has been a fun stitch. I think I am going to move down to the moon and do the bats one at a time. Plus, I am trying to figure out what to do for the H and W. My initials would go in the box to the right, so I don't want another W on there. I am going to try to find other Halloween motifs that wouldn't be too duplicated in the pattern. I think the purple you have is pretty. Happy Stitching!
@@TheCampingStitcher Oops! 😂😂😂 That comment was intended for the previous flosstube I watched. There must have been a quick switchover to your channel while I was typing🙄 You’re safe, no visitors spotted. I was fascinated and slightly terrified by your story about the bear. Love your finishes, Chris. I just finished The Teacher by Butternut Road. Once i get it ironed, i will post it on your FB page. I think i'm going to try Art to Frames as i have several pieces ready to be framed. Your bear story is great!
Hi Chris, I found your floss tube after I found the New England stitcher. Your stitching is beautiful! I watched a few of your previous floss tubes and realized you are from New Jersey which is where I live! We live on Northwest NJ close to the Delaware Water Gap. When you mentioned Lancaster and Bristol I was excited because I go to both shops!!! Don’t know anyone around me that stitches so it would be nice to connect with someone who at least lives in New Jersey!!!! Happy stitching 😊!

Chris, you got so much done. Fantastic. I have that Halloween quaker kitted. I also have the fall one kitted, too. You said it first, so I will start along with you. Happy Birthday July 31. 🎉

Oh my gosh! Your Summer Quaker is stunning! She is definitely on my bucket list!!! We don’t have to worry to much with bears, just alligators, snakes and raccoons.
Enjoyed your front porch bear story! We have squirrels that eat and demolish everything, very pesky! Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching, but I'm completely convinced that you have a stitching clone! Just playing, you are amazing💚🇺🇸
Congratulations on your Summer Quaker finish! It looks absolutely incredible! Well done! If you get the new Lighthouse by Cottage Garden (which is incredible) you should join our #LetYourLighthouseShineSAL starting 8/1!! :).
Hi Chris, love the finishes. One question: I want to give it a try, self framing. When you pin your work: how think is your foamboard? Thx and greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you. I have been using 3/16 thick foam core board. You can find some of the framing supplies I use in my storefront on amazon - www.amazon.com/shop/thecampingstitcher/list/1WAUPU71905UF?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_aipsfthecampingstitcher_4TX4Q48CMA46H71KCBP8
Thank you. I measure the size of the finished stitching and then I add to each side plus 1/4 inch for the lip of the frame. You would need to decide how much of a border you want, I can only tell you I like 1/2 inch around my stitching. So my measurement is around 1.5 inches larger all around than my stitching because I like my frames close.
@@TheCampingStitcher thank you Chris. Do you stretch your fabric for size of stitched piece. Very helpful, you do have a speedy needle! Great projects!!
