Absolutely awesome playthrough. I watched this over a week, similarly to how I played through it. Your encyclopedic knowledge of what trash to search, what to avoid, exactly which ammo to have ready at every encounter: mind blowing. I feel like I just watched the greatest horror movie I've ever seen.
Sometime after I rewatched your System Shock 2 walkthrough yet again, the longplay is here. Very nice! I've very much enjoyed System Shock 2, one of my personal favorite games and walkthroughs you've done!

I watched with nostalgia until just over 3hr then Diego's monstrous audio log with the pods noise and the blood/bodies everywhere while it was playing was too much for me. Had to stop there. I am much older than when I completed the game and it was an emotionally draining experience even then. System shock literally.
I have to admit, I was surprised(and impressed) that you did this with the hazard suit as opposed to any armor, but then again, hazards are much more of a danger than damage. Particularly when damage usually equals death at this difficulty. Also have to give kudos to your ammo management; my runs usually have me use standard ammo until the Body of the Many, at which I use anti-personnel, and then anti-armor for the last stretch. On that subject, well played with the bank shot into the nerve cluster in BotM...so much hassle could have been saved if I had been aware of that earlier.
I remember this game jees many years back.. I never truly understood its potential at all well I was probably too small back then but now watching it as agrown up takes you through a hole other type of experience.. still looking great hope you having a great day Pato big love and support! And thank you for what you doing! :)
1:00:10 I have been playing this game for 15 years. I had no idea there was a grenade launcher there!😂was always snacking on them chips. This is so well done, it should be the primary walkthrough for people who are stuck. Awesome job
A very well made video walkthrough…. I wanted to play this game for a long time (the dark cyberpunk setting really intrigued me) but was too terrified to play it :). Anyways it is very rare to see such through walkthroughs of old games in today’s time. Thanks for putting it up!
@@patologTV Such as my first PC games Serious Sam 1st & 2nd Encounters. After those I played Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age, both by Looking Glass.
whoever made this game really must like the Alien franchise. p.s. Whoever is playing this game, you are doing a great job kicking ass in this game. Keep up the good work. :)
I don't have a computer now and thanks to you i'm able to experience this game, even though not myself playing, i just wish one day i could play this amazing game, love your channel, i watched many other playthroughs in your channel, sending all my regards from brazil!
Watching this again I really appreciate the attention to every detail and fully showing every scrap of text or speech in the game. The perfection of a tool assisted speedrun applied to deliberate pace, framing, and the experience of the game. I'd played this half a dozen times and have seen a ton for the first time. I'm still floored that Irrational and/or Looking Glass inventing the flavor select cigarette before Camel did!
That’s what I do! If I know I’m never going to get the chance to play a game, but I’m curious about it I hop on good ol RUclips and hope that someone posted a video I can live vicariously through THIS play through though, is exquisite! Every action is precise and every decision is deliberate The player makes the viewer feel like a soldier that actually went through combat training and tours of duty! 10/10 WILL watch again! Lol
You are the flawless(est ?) player of youtube. I was watching your longplay of FEAR when I saw this so I'm glad. Do you plan to do the thief series one day ?
Wow, The Graphics are surprisingly modern for 1999, my only question is that; where's the SHODAN boss? and at 5:30 I like how the P.A is telling the player to use the controls on the computer, is this guy playing on a Windows 98?
I know I've said this a few years ago guys, but SHODAN *really* reminds me of my ex-wife LMAO No matter how many times I've watched this walkthrough, I'm still blown away by your expertise, Pato! Thanks for the longplay version!
5:17:35 This is one Enrique Cortez, communications officer on boarded in Von Braun. The Von Braun has been hijacked, I repeat, the Von Braun has been hijacked. 5:17:52 _Monke_ Bananas⁉️
@@patologTV Yea I know, but in my version of the game, turrets next to eachoter will start shooting. Also the shotgun hybrids dont have shotguns already unloaded.
at least someone have brain to use reasonable mods like better particles not some punkish funky 3d models that ruins pure ss2 masterpiece. you're the man
@@patologTV I use currently sec mod, but too much custom content going on, I really like version you use. I need to try shock community patch and shtup, it looks like real improvement. thanks for excellent upload I enjoy watching it :)
Truth be told I just returned back from an FTL holiday; Weekend at Weyland! Yutaniworld was just BURSTING at the seams with excitement. This meat of an insect is ready to now cool down with an environment that smells like well done steak, and tastes like a mouth full of pennies!
SS2 is probably in my top 5 games of all time, easily top 10, but that F***ING music has to be the most inappropriate soundtrack choice for a game ever made...
Your movements are so smooth and deliberate. Are you playing with a controller and a mouse at the same time or just a mouse? It reminds me of the first-person sequence in the Doom movie. You don't jerk around like most people do with mice.
Crazy it’s taken so long to find this game my dad had it on a disc back in the day but there was no key code so I could only walk around in a small area before it kept asking for the key code
You know when the re make for the first one comes out there was a discussion on doing a third after they updated the visuals for the second game to bad they decided again against making system shock 3. But the new release date for system shock one is in February supposedly unless they push the game release again.
the ss1 remake has been out for abit. with the second patch released on the 14th. and the game is freakin good. of course i know this thread is a year old tho.

i think you've missed some nanites near roof(or ceiling? its a giant guts, so i dont know what to call it) in 7:23:57, so its not 100% walkthrough, you have to do everything again
Yeah, it took a while. Thoroughly searching each level to find all the items was the most time-consuming. Recording the run wasn't that difficult though, once you know what to do, what to expect, and have a solid build, the game isn't too hard :)

My real question is how and why did that pod where the Hacker jettisoned ended up on Tau Ceti V with enough time for growth before being discovered by the System Shock 2 ships which were recorded to be the first FTL ships in-game. The Many doesn't make sense as the pod doesn't have enough velocity to end up on another planet within the time frame.
@@MylstarElectronics It will take hundreds of thousands of years for that jettisoned module to reach tau ceti V especially since it doesn't have any form of FTL. And yet it is years or decades between SS1 and SS2.
Pato how do u remember all the places to look? :o i don't remember what i was doing 5 minutes ago. I guess u dont drink the water coz they put something in it to make you forget, huh? :P (i dont remember how i've got here)
Well, I'm actually quite forgetful as well. I have my notes opened on my second monitor while recording these videos to make sure I don't forget anything :)
Also there's a funny easter egg that you missed in this walkthrough. After you beat hydroponics if you take the elevators up to deck 5 instead of deck 4 Polito calls you and yells at you to quit sightseeing and come see her.
@patologTV really? I think a funny bit of dialog most people will miss is worth including in these kinds of videos. I only found it seeing if you could sequence break the game by going to deck 5 early, and the game makes fun of you for doing that.
@@warnegoodman Well, it's subjective, right? To me, it was important enough to include. In general, I try to include as much as possible in my runs, but I do skip some things.
With the success of the System Shock one remake I know it’s some point Nightdive Studios is it going to remake this also. Edit: I’m already aware that there releasing the enhanced edition of the game
Por conta desse jogo que teve o desenvolvimento fos jogos do BioShock, tanto que tem um modo em BioShock infinite chamado 1999 pra homenagear esse game
I love this game's writing, but when you think about it a lot of it is kind of contrived in how bizarrely passive most people are about what's happening. Like the head nurse who sees one of the cyborg midwives and is just like "huh, that's weird. So that's what happened to all my staff." I also think it's a shame that fighting Anatoly isn't a bigger moment like fighting the many or shodan. You just find his brain and kill it, he doesn't even say anything.
I play with low mouse sensitivity and focus on good camera work to make the videos easy to watch for the viewers. Not sure what you mean by different walking speeds, there is slow walk and run, I think that's all.
@@patologTV Sometimes it looks like you walk with inbetween slow and normal. And the mouse sense musz be realy low to look arround like controller. But its realy nice to watch👌
Yeah, it might be best to play with music turned off. Some tracks are ok, but some are really distracting and don't match the gameplay at all, such as the one in Med-Sci :)
Wow Dead Space has got some explaining to do lol There's so many similarities over here, so many details that DS is pretty much a remake of System Shock.
@@danielgeronimo5538 hold your horses they're still remaking SS1, but it's a possible chance we'll get SS2 and finally get an SS3 with a continuation after that cliffhanger at the end of SS2 (also a copy of what happens in DS1).
Hacking the replicators changes some of the items it sells, so I think that was just meant to serve as a walkthrough to show what you can buy if you hack it.
I enjoy how you played through this slowly and deliberately, giving us the experience as if we were playing the game, rather than rushing through it like a speedrunner. Back in the day I stopped at the body of the many, so this helped me finally experience the Endgame. Thank you.

wow, mate...
Will definitely come in handy for those long shifts at night. Thanks, Pato.
Enjoy, mate :D
You did this in a fantastic and immersive way. Slow and deliberate, but with a full understanding of what you were doing.
Thank you :)
I forgot how infuriating those monkies were.
Good job crushing that robot with the lift :)

Wow, The Graphics are surprisingly modern for 1999, my only question is that; where's the SHODAN boss? and at 5:30 I like how the P.A is telling the player to use the controls on the computer, is this guy playing on a Windows 98?

That's Redenbacher. Rickenbacker is either the name of a guitar or the most prolific American ace pilot in WWI. The latter is probably the namesake.
Excellent work!
Looking Glass Studios, I haven't seen that name in forever. It was a great gaming company.

Your movements are so smooth and deliberate. Are you playing with a controller and a mouse at the same time or just a mouse? It reminds me of the first-person sequence in the Doom movie. You don't jerk around like most people do with mice.

How many takes did each section take? This must have taken so much time
Yeah, it took a while. Thoroughly searching each level to find all the items was the most time-consuming. Recording the run wasn't that difficult though, once you know what to do, what to expect, and have a solid build, the game isn't too hard :)
Does anyone know how to make the game Fullscreen and get the subtitles?

My real question is how and why did that pod where the Hacker jettisoned ended up on Tau Ceti V with enough time for growth before being discovered by the System Shock 2 ships which were recorded to be the first FTL ships in-game.
The Many doesn't make sense as the pod doesn't have enough velocity to end up on another planet within the time frame.
Simply called _‘Grove’_ - when the Hacker jettisoned and then crash landed on Tau Ceti V since then.
@@MylstarElectronics It will take hundreds of thousands of years for that jettisoned module to reach tau ceti V especially since it doesn't have any form of FTL. And yet it is years or decades between SS1 and SS2.
It's a major plothole, I see this pointed out often

17:34 System Shock reference into Starfield.
2:09:26 is this the protagonist before he got augmented by shodan or some very similar looking crewman?
Latter.
Also there's a funny easter egg that you missed in this walkthrough. After you beat hydroponics if you take the elevators up to deck 5 instead of deck 4 Polito calls you and yells at you to quit sightseeing and come see her.
That's not an easter egg mate, and it's not something I'd consider interesting enough to show in this run.

Nowdays game nothing behind this gem
Love how the Psi-Amp is an Amazon Alexa. They knewwwwww
Controller😅 Looks coolnfor watching but how does it play...i couldnt play it like that.
Love this game and big THX for this gameplay👌
I play with mouse and keyboard mate :)
But why are you so smooth?? And how do you walk in different speeds?
I play with low mouse sensitivity and focus on good camera work to make the videos easy to watch for the viewers. Not sure what you mean by different walking speeds, there is slow walk and run, I think that's all.
@@patologTV Sometimes it looks like you walk with inbetween slow and normal. And the mouse sense musz be realy low to look arround like controller.
But its realy nice to watch👌
This is so awesome. But to be honest the music is really distracting and disruptive imo. Kinda ruins the atmosphere a little bit.
Yeah, it might be best to play with music turned off. Some tracks are ok, but some are really distracting and don't match the gameplay at all, such as the one in Med-Sci :)
