Raiden has the same pitch as my new hires at my ice cream shop. Don't know anything. 🤦🏾♂️ Them: but why are the napkins so important? Me: cause, now eat a ice cream cone and don't have a napkin. Raiden is right there.
Normally a character says some stuff and the other character responds with:"Yeah, sure, ok." But Raiden is definitely on another level. In almost every case somebody says something like: "We have to disarm the bomb right now." And Raiden repeats the 2 or 3 last words of that sentence to sound extra dumb. I just love it.

I recently got into metal gear. I saw the meme of raiden punching armstrong, i saw even more memes and decided to watch metal gear rising: reveangence. I really loved it, so i decided to watch the solid games too. Metal gear solid 1 was really cool and the part where Otocan tells snake that bad guys are in the elevator gave me chills and was definetely my favourite part. This game though, the final 30 minutes made me cry, the speech at the end was really nice. But also now that i was writing this comment, i heard otocan and snake talking about the patriots and when i heard they were all killed 100 YEARS AGO I GOT SCARED, LIKE IDK WHAT HAPPENED BUT WHEN I HEARD 100 YEARS I GOT THE CHILLS, i can't wait to see what happens next, thank you SourceSpy91 for making this video, time to watch metal gear solid 3 and 4.
You just described my experience to the letter. I literally even made a comment saying how the elevator scene was so brilliant that it is now my favourite. I also like the scene where Sniper Wolf is having a conversation with Snake at her last moments, it almost had me in tears. I'm looking forward to the 100 years part. and am looking forward to watch the remaining games.
Yes, Olga is the ninja and at a point, she and Snake got into a fight. Snake revealed Ocelot murdered her father and at that point, she decided to help Snake.
Yeah, but i cant get over how much of a piece of shit emmerick is in mgsv. And since mgsv comes before mgs2 chronologically, im inclined to hate Ocelot and Otacon
I played through this game back in 2003 and I really loved the ambience of it. There was something about playing as Raiden running around Big Shell in the afternoon taking out guards that was so relaxing. It was visual ASMR. There was a period during that year where all I did was come home from my miserable 9 to 5 real estate job and lose myself in this game. It probably kept me sane, tbh.
I didn't like this game as much as the original when it was first released, but now I see it as a worthy classic counterpart:- probably because I'm 20 years older and understand the storyline much better. Like many fans I grew up with the series and hold them in a special place for the hours of enjoyment and interest they gave me.
So many emotions flooding back in. This game was so epic. I felt such amazement playing this game. What I would do to relive these days. Absolutely amazing.
Yes. I just played and beat this game for the first time. The story, with the Patriots trying to filter/censor all the world's information... it reminds me a lot with the algorithms and censorship we face today. Kojima and the writers were ahead of their time.
Yeah, honestly i believe graphics in gaming never needed to get any better than the cutting edge sixth gen, we should start to focus on optimization and consumer price. Im a bit sick of having to buy a new computer every 2 years or so.
I don't know why but what REALLY stuck to me when I first played this was when the navy seal launched a grenade at fortune and he said "A dud?!". Always cracked me up
They didnt really go for hyper-realistic graphics. Facial geometry + Shell architecture are simplified, textures ( I think ) are digitally hand painted ( not photos ). This game's art direction seems like it's closer to what Blizzard, rather than what EA or Ubisoft, does today.
Ain't it just. I remember being so hyped for this when it came out, but being young at the time a lot of the story, especially the final third of the game, went right over my naive adolescent head. The pinnacle of the franchise IMO, as controversial as that will sound to some
This is back when you used to get a game for your birthday or Xmas and you would wait in anticipation to get it or open it and it was like one of the only games you had so you would cherish it. Kids today have like every single game at their disposal with game pass. Same with Spotify and music. I will always remember the good times with games like these
Stealth has been my favorite genre of game and as a PC player I was so happy when they remastered the MGS games. I bought them all to find out I hate playing them, the controls are absolute trash. But it's still a classic I want to know about so ty for making this
5:42:22, it is assumed that it should be clear, but it is one soldier is listening music right in the same area that you are. After all this years I just realise that beacuse of the music that soldier didn't ear to the radio saying that arsenal was about to move so he probaly was let behind never got inside in time.
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty is an amazing Metal Gear Solid Game and my 2nd favorite Metal Gear Solid Game of All Time. I like the characters, the story for this game was amazing, the graphics for this game is cool, the stealth was amazing, the atmosphere was so good for this game, the boss fights are so amazing and the ending for this game was so awesome!
I felt pretty good recently beating Fatman in under 50 minutes. I basically watched this video and it all came back to me. I remember printing the walkthrough at school....100 or so pages. Good times.
"Turn your game console off right now" i used to play this game everyday and night as a kid and when i got to that part where colonel said that, it freaked me out and followed the order of the patriots to turn off my game 😂😂😂😂 ill never forget that. One of my greatest gaming moments. This and psycho mantis reading my casltlevania save files in mgs 1 are the best 4th wall breaking in games lol
"Mission aborted! Requesting immediate extraction, a hot shower, a few bars of antibacterial Dove, some shampoo that won't dry my 'fro out and the fact that i just got pissed on is classified, meaning it never happened."
I'm discovering the entire series through your playthrough. While I've spoiled myself few things more or less on accident, the whole patriot plot was unknown to me and it was freaking amazing. I had the samed reaction as snake in the post credit scene.
Man this game looked so good for being an early PS2 game. When I turned 15 I got a ps2 + this game from my mom and stepdad and it blew me away how good it looked back then, and how cool the gameplay was.

I got this game back in 2001 from Woolworths, was on my way to watch Ali G movie in the cinema, popped into Woolworths as a 14 year old and brought this. Literally could not wait to get home and stayed up for hours rinsing this. Such good times, they sadly don’t make them like this anymore.

Normally i don't write any comments, but i have to tell this game was way ahead of its time. REal story, real characters with feelings and motives. It is complex, you can see that the developement team cared for this game.
"Everyone withdraws into their own small gated community, afraid of a larger forum. They stay inside their little ponds, leaking whatever "truth" suits them into the growing cesspool of society at large." It's crazy how accurate that prediction of today's society turned out to be.
Great playthrough. As someone who never owned any Playstations growing up, I _just_ played through MGS 1 and now MGS 2 for the first time. I see why some people say Kojima should just make movies instead of games. There definitely are times when playing these when I'm thinking "damn dude, can I just PLAY the game already?" The cutscenes can really go on for a bit too long at times. BUT, I will say that I can appreciate what these games did in terms of trying to tell a much more involved, detailed story with depth than any game that came before it, as far as I know. They are pretty unique in that sense. Interesting stuff. I'm glad I played through these and I'm looking forward to trying MGS 3 in the near future :)
It’s posbbily outshone the original but I flicking love the first one that said snake eater went even a step further all 3 amazing but I loved this one because it had a great story and the location was awesome in the sky proper trippy
They even got the fact that most of the voices generated by the AI are super distorted right. That is incredible. Metal gear solid 2 did not disappear in the 2030s we still remember.

Same
ye those two games explain what happened
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA they cost money
You just described my experience to the letter. I literally even made a comment saying how the elevator scene was so brilliant that it is now my favourite. I also like the scene where Sniper Wolf is having a conversation with Snake at her last moments, it almost had me in tears.
I'm looking forward to the 100 years part. and am looking forward to watch the remaining games.
@RAYHAN REHEMA PUTRA And what if you don't have a PC.
THE SECRET HANDSHAKE BROKE ME, i was waiting to see Snake finally show his best friend side
Yeah man, the handshake is legendary
5:53:26
Who is behind the cyber ninja ? Is it olga ?
And why snake sided with her ?
Yes, Olga is the ninja and at a point, she and Snake got into a fight. Snake revealed Ocelot murdered her father and at that point, she decided to help Snake.
Yeah, but i cant get over how much of a piece of shit emmerick is in mgsv. And since mgsv comes before mgs2 chronologically, im inclined to hate Ocelot and Otacon
This is Snake. Do you read me, Otacon?
Loud and clear, Snake.

That was the goal. A little too late for that, now.
It probably kept me sane, tbh.
i always found the ambience and setting very cozy, especially the boat part with the heavy rain 🥹
Kojima is a genius. Like him or not he can craft a story that gets an emotional response out of the player.
Ummmm
True That
Truly. Policenauts and Snatcher were brilliant too.
until he made death stranding
He didn’t write this alone that’s why it’s good. The last good metal gear story.

Yeah, mgs is not a game, it's a legendary experience!
That's why it's the best MGS
100% perfect.
I didn't like this game as much as the original when it was first released, but now I see it as a worthy classic counterpart:- probably because I'm 20 years older and understand the storyline much better. Like many fans I grew up with the series and hold them in a special place for the hours of enjoyment and interest they gave me.
4:19:00 What an epic turning point for a video game. Its amazing something as simple as a codec call can be so huge. And the music clues in perfectly.

So many emotions flooding back in. This game was so epic. I felt such amazement playing this game. What I would do to relive these days. Absolutely amazing.
A PS4 remake of this game would be fantastic, I'd buy it.

It'd be awesome to get a PS5 collection with MGS 1-5 remastered.
With no kojima, no thank you.
What a game, and what an important story for today's world.
@Ryan Knox I guess it kinda happens, and we agree to it...
Indeed
It shows perfectly how soldier works and why I found them disgusting.
Yes. I just played and beat this game for the first time. The story, with the Patriots trying to filter/censor all the world's information... it reminds me a lot with the algorithms and censorship we face today. Kojima and the writers were ahead of their time.
The message in this game was so a head of it's time.
The cinematics are so superb. I just watched the gameplay as if it was a movie. This series is truly amazing.

5:53:26 prolly the most awesome bromance of Otacon and Solid Snake. Definitely a highlight moment of this game for me
The graphics on this look amazing for a game that came out in 2001.
Shows that art direction > graphics.
Because it's on ps2
agreed
@@Massivecarcrash They were great graphics in 2001.
Yeah, honestly i believe graphics in gaming never needed to get any better than the cutting edge sixth gen, we should start to focus on optimization and consumer price. Im a bit sick of having to buy a new computer every 2 years or so.
Listening to Emma's parot say "Hal I miss" over and over Was so overwhelmingly sad that I had to cry along with Otocon
And I was laughing.
I don't know why but what REALLY stuck to me when I first played this was when the navy seal launched a grenade at fortune and he said "A dud?!". Always cracked me up
I love that guy haha :D
Ah me and my best friend still re-enact this to this day!
1:52:44 For some reason, that line reminded me of Small Soldiers, the delivery was very similar to the tone of that film 😂
I remember completing this game at least ten times back in the day. Still love it. One of my favorites of all time.
This game aged beautifully. Unless this is some re-release on a new console.
This is the legacy collection on PS3, it's upscaled so it looks better then the original ps2 version. PS2 version still looks really good though
Even Olga's armpit hair is topical.
Like a piece of aged cheese. Fuckin beautiful
The pinnacle of the franchise IMO, as controversial as that will sound to some
6:53:17 love how ocelot has a laugh and then proceeds to bust everybody’s bubble about the real plot
Ocelot wanted to fool everyone and then Liquid shows.
This is back when you used to get a game for your birthday or Xmas and you would wait in anticipation to get it or open it and it was like one of the only games you had so you would cherish it. Kids today have like every single game at their disposal with game pass. Same with Spotify and music. I will always remember the good times with games like these

I wonder if that was sarcasm from the Colonel.
lol
Stealth has been my favorite genre of game and as a PC player I was so happy when they remastered the MGS games. I bought them all to find out I hate playing them, the controls are absolute trash. But it's still a classic I want to know about so ty for making this
This game was my childhood and the reason I fell in love with video games. Use to play this game on a loop. 😩😭 It’s been so longggg.
😍🔥🤣💪🏾
5:42:22, it is assumed that it should be clear, but it is one soldier is listening music right in the same area that you are.
After all this years I just realise that beacuse of the music that soldier didn't ear to the radio saying that arsenal was about to move so he probaly was let behind never got inside in time.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty is an amazing Metal Gear Solid Game and my 2nd favorite Metal Gear Solid Game of All Time. "Turn your game console off right now" i used to play this game everyday and night as a kid and when i got to that part where colonel said that, it freaked me out and followed the order of the patriots to turn off my game 😂😂😂😂 ill never forget that. Such good times, they sadly don’t make them like this anymore.
true 🥺
Why does rose keep bringing up personal stuff during a mission
She's not the real Rose. Neither is the Colonel. They're both figments of Raiden's imagination being stimulated by the GW ai.
It’s a parody on the gamer playing the game.
@@element1111 I'm not sure why your comment has that many upvotes when it's completely incorrect, but oh well. It was the real Rose talking to Jack the entire time up until around the ends when she tells Jack she is pregnant and her voice gets cut out.

I remember watching my uncle play through this one time,id always heard of MGS as a kid but never got into it or was really allowed to (my parents were strict about violence and cussing in media around me) till he brought it over while spending the night and I sat there watching him play through the entire thing which was super fun and the first time we ever got along lmao - I never got to see the ending or maybe I just forgot but now that I re-watch it I realize at age 18 rather then 13 when I first saw it just how beautiful the ending message/moral is and how scarily relevant it is even still in 2021,I may not have been born in 2001 but I was in 2003 and it's just insane to me how a message in a video game can still hold up about 20 years later
I remember when I first saw this game I thought the graphics were dope asf (especially the wind effects and the intro) and it's amazing to realize fully just how much graphics have changed over the years
I grew up with a PS2 but alot of the games I had owned/still own didnt look that great but when I got this from my uncle I was blown away with what the console could do mechanic wise + graphic wise and especially with such a huge plot thats so good + how the crazy glitch stuff happened when my brain was just blown and also super spooked lmao
, I'm glad that even now otacon is still my absolute favorite
Anyways yeah this made me have a whole nostalgia moment watching it again (especially the nude part cause I remember cackling over it but also being amused since it was rare to see that trope with a guy rather then a female for me haha)
I have fond memories watching MGS games being played by my uncle on my mums side and I'm so glad he introduced me to it even while my parents were strict af as now everytime I see/play/watch mgs stuff I think of him and how this game really brought us together closer when we realized we both loved video games (he didnt know at the time that I did so we finally were able to chat about games when he realized I liked them too) we didnt fight for once and even now I'm so glad we both enjoyed something together for the first time
It's funny Hideo was a little disappointed with it's limits and did the best job he could to fit the game in a DVD .
