I’m in Texas and just got a few peacocks . We are planning to move north and the lady we bought our pea fowl from told us they would not survive in winter, that the peacocks have to be in 75* or higher. This makes me feel so much better.

These have always been my favorite birds, these and the blue footed boobie. I'd live to get one one day.

Definitely a different type of edit for RUclips videos, but I enjoyed it.
Good luck with the cats. I have opinions about cats being evil, but those look like they might make mousers.
    Merry Holidays, Happy Homesteading

I was told that they need a good shelter and a least of 4 ft high perch are really big round perch like a closet pole to get out of the elements and that is draft free.

I have a bit of a strange question. I have an adolescent male peacock that I hand raised and is still completely imprinted on me. He didn't grow up around other peafowl, and I really want to know if your adults ever grew out of their baby high-pitched peeping? He still does it all the time, whenever he's happy, like when I help preen the pin feathers on the back of his neck. Or when I talk to him, he responds with a few peeps. Super curious to know, so if you have the time, I'd be very grateful!
    Much love,
    ~Joanna

That is so adorable Joanna! I would say that so far we have the same thing with one of our peacocks that we raised by hand. He is only 1.5 years but so far is still doing the same high pitched peeping you described even though he lives with others!! Thank you so much for checking out our channel!!

I just got the chance to buy the greens (a pavomuticus hen and a high spalding male). They’re incredible, but I’m really worried with this 30 degree cold front hitting Florida. Any advice to keep them safe? They’re in my house tonight but yeah. Not a perm want solution at all.

Greens are definitely far less hardy. Do you have a heated lamp you can set up?
