    #101: Sheogorath made a bet with Vermina regarding one of Vermina's folowers. for three nights, vermina sent vivid nightmares of horrific imagery to the follower, which he incorporated into his art, in an attempt to make everyone hate him. And while some found the work disturbing, many found it inspiring.
    Come Sheo's turn, he did nothing. The follower grew restless and insane as his inspiration ran dry, and he renounced his affiliation with Vermina.
    Sheogorath won a bet by doing NOTHING

      Sheogorath was considered bad alongside with the other 3 corners of the House of Troubles (Molag Bal, Mehrunes Dagon and Malacath), because they rebelled against the Tribunal. Prior to Nerevar's death and the rise of the Tribunal, the Chimer worshipped the Daedra generally with Azura, Boethiah and Mephala being in the center of focus.

      I mean, the Dummer interpretation of Boethia isn’t that bad, it’s just that you must overcome the odds. As for Sheogorath I do think he’s bad, simply because he’s so crazy and unpredictable also he’s a terrible god to build a nation off.

    CORRECTIONS/OMISSIONS:
    ________________________________________
    Fact 46 - Some would argue Lyg doesn't actually exist, and not without good reason. I personally believe it does exist, and stand by what I said, but feel free to do your own research on it!
    Fact 59 - Some believe there is a relationship between Ebonarm and the Ebony Warrior. Specifically, he may be a mortal incarnation of Ebonarm.
    Fact 79 - The Skeleton Key is also available in Oblivion.
    Fact 87 - The Myriad Realms of Revelry adapt to meet the wants and needs of visitors.

      That explains why, when Serana explains how she was turned into vampire, she said that "few survive the ordeal". Of course few will survive if Molag Bal's penis was THAT damn sharp. On top of it, that ordeal Serana refers to must be egregiously violent if it goes as described in the book about Lamae. Definitely fucked up, no pun intended.

      Well the Daedra is often fixed into the story of the games, or at the very least can be explored in the game. Where as the Daedra wasn't the specific threat of Morrowind, they still play a role in the story. Where as in Oblivion they were more of a direct threat. In Skyrim however, they are almost absent, which is depressing.

    Hey Redguard is not a spin-off game, everything that happens is canon, Cyrus himself is very well known throughout the sailors of all Tamriel and is the subject of many legends, in one of them he tricked Vivec himself!
    But aside from that great video!
    I have some extra facts:
    - The Mehrunes Razor was made by the Magna Ge in Lyg, it had (and still has!) the power to cut things, physical and metaphysical, in a similar manner as the skeleton key. Somehow the Razor ended in the hands of Dagon, he used the Razor to make himself the Daedra we know today and therefore the surname "Mehrunes" does not come from Dagon himself but from the Razor instead.
    - Mehrunes Dagon is also revered as the Prince of Hope since hope is the desire to see something happen, the desire for change.
    - The Dreugh were followers of Molag Bal, and it is believed they ruled Lyg because of his power.

    • @Kazuma11290
      @Kazuma11290 7 лет назад +3

      I like the idea but considering he can shout, he can die, he wants to go to Sovngarde, his arm is not fused to his sword, and Ebonarm was made non-canon, he's probably just another dragonborn from Hammerfell. The Greybeards do say that it's possible for multiple ones to exist at a time. So from that fact, and the fact that Dragonborn tend to kill eachother (you alone kill Miraak and Ebony Warrior), it's safe to assume that Dragonborn are not some kind of "chosen one" worthy of Akatosh's gift as we all like to think we are, but rather being Dragonborn is just an extremely rare and recessive genetic trait.

      The reason for that, imo, is the fact that the gods actually play a direct role in mortal affairs. Lore on the gods in TES is as weird and confusing as in real life, but the difference is you can actually talk to Hermaeus Mora and enter his realm, you can fight Jyggalag, etc. When you look at what has made the Elder Scrolls so interesting, it's beings like Vivec, Azura, Mehrunes Dagon, Akatosh, Sheogorath, Alduin, and Hermaeus Mora. Not so much everything else (even the Dragonborn is only possible because of Akatosh). But that's just my take on it :)

      Bethesda is good at writing interesting, mythical stories but why can't we actually PLAY those stories in Skyrim instead of reading books about it? As an addition, Bethesda lacks the ability to write interesting, charismatic characters. So much wasted potential.

    *Fact 45:* Reminds me of a heroic archer-figure of Persian Mythology, *Arash the Archer*.
    When the bloody and long-lasting war between Iran and Turan came to an end, the rulers of both countries decided to make peace and to fix the boundary between their kingdoms. The defeated Iran was ordered to shoot an arrow towards Turan. Where the arrow landed was to mark the border between the two countries. An Iranian super hero, Arash, agreed to shoot the arrow from the peak of the Damavand (Iran's highest mountain).
    The arrow flew the whole morning and fell at noon - 2250 kilometers on the bank of the Oxus River in what is now Central Asia. The river remained the boundary between Iran and Turan for centuries. When Arash let his bow go, he fell to the ground on Mount Damavand and passed away.

    Lorkhan wouldn't be a daedric prince whose plane is Tamriel, he would be a daedric prince whose plane is Mundus/Nirn.
    And he wouldn't be a daedric prince whose plane is Mundus, because he isn't a daedric prince either. It is theorized that Lorkhan is actually the birthed soul of Sithis, who is in turn the soul of Padomay.
    Essentially my point is that Mundus isn't a realm of oblivion, neither is it a realm of aetherius, it is instead exactly what it was stated to be in the lore, a third option for those spirits who were unsatisfied with the dichotomy of oblivion and aetherius.

    We know the stories of the creation of the ES universe. Magnus Desingned Mundus, and is probably the most knowlegable Aedra. As far as I know, the details of Lorkans betrayel have never been specified. His trick couldn't have been in the design, Since Magnus would certainley be very protective of his work. I suggest that there was a sufficent energy source to make a mundus, albeit shallow. I'll explain that now. I think that Mundus was made for entertainment, and Lorkan wasn't satisfied with it. Imagine if none of the characters in Star Wars had emotion. I think that's close to what he saw. He thought of a way to give it the spark it needed. An event was set up, a celebration. While the Aedra were off guard, he activated someething that drained their power, and ran to Mundus. When he got there, he threw it into the sky and broke it. With some design of his own, Lorkan fixed the shards in a way that they gave off energy, but couldnt be harvested. The Aedra had lost much power, but not so much that they couldn't fight. they joined forces to defeat Lorkan, and split his own power. They'd lost too much power to kill him, and couldn't diffuse his strength properly. Now I'm going to go on a brief tangent. To me, Sheogorath has always stood out among the daedra. maybe it's just me, but he seems really out of place. Yes, there is the story about how Jyggalag was extrodinarilly smart and logical, but isn't Hermaeus Mora the most intelligent Daedra? At least, they could surley compete. Would Jyggalag really be such a large cause of concern to the Daedric Pinces? So much that they would all need to join forces just to seal him, ineffectivley at that? If Jyggalag ever completed the Greymarch, which he's certainly come close to doing, wouldn't that be a total disaster for them? What if the Geymarch is what Lorkan felt, looking at the original Mundus? What if the Greymarch was the process of rebirth, and if completed, the land would be vibrant again? What if, Jyggalag is Jyggalag because he hasn't fully absorbed Sheogorath? What if, the reason the Daedra felt so threatened by him, is because he stole their power? And Sheogorath's city's, Mania and Dementia, could they be his satisfaction of success, and his fear of the other daedra coming to finish him?

    About the Sheogorath we see in Skyrim actually being the protagonist from Oblivion, that is not confirmed. If you've read the Haskill interview he implies that the CoC became sort of a Haskill 2.0.
    "I am a Vestige, all that remains of a mortal from your world who 'mantled' Sheogorath during an event in a previous time."
    What most likely happened was that when the Greymarch was over Jyggalag turned back into Sheogorath and reclaimed his throne.

      Adam Thompson The confusing parts are mostly courtesy of Michael 'The true mad god' Kirkbride who created the Sermons of Vivec, the commentaries, Tower lore and a lot of fascinating out of game lore (which, btw, Tower lore was also before ESO). If you are in for really confusing ES lore, Google "CODA Elder scrolls".

    I don't believe that Peryite's Pits are full of lava. I think that was just Bethesda cutting corners as they did the same with Boethiah's Realm by making them both look like Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands.

      Stephen Maloney I read on the wiki that in oblivion, the pits were defined by three large spikes in the deadlands, so was the wiki wrong about something? I really want to know

    • @APalebloodSky
      @APalebloodSky 7 лет назад +1

      TestRun
      Every single Daedric Prince has their own Realm and the Realm reflects their psyche. Sheogorath's is split into two to resemble his split personality, whilst Mehrunes Dagon's is the archetypal vision of Hell with pure destruction and lava seas, Hermaeus Mora's Realm is a neverending library of forbidden knowledge, Sanguine's is thousands of tiny realms, each with a different vice as its sphere.
      Peryite is the Daedric Prince of natural order and disease, or natural order through disease as a way of maintaining balance. His Realm is inaccessible to Mortals and the little information that is known about it is due to accounts of Daedra who have visited his Realm.

    • @APalebloodSky
      @APalebloodSky 7 лет назад +1

      TestRun
      Peryite's Realm would likely reflect his sphere of influence. It would be structured, but also disease-ridden and very hostile to outsiders.
      Boethiah also transported the player character in Oblivion to their Realm and it looked just like Mehrunes Dagon's Deadlands. The thing is, however, Boethiah's Realm has been described before as one full of traps, mountains, mazes, and twisted towers.
      It is more likely that Boethiah's and Peryite's Realms are not like the Deadlands. I can understand why Bethesda didn't put the effort in as making new assets from scratch for two quests may have been seen as unimportant, so they used Mehrunes Dagon's Realm.

    He was wrong, the plains of oblivion are not infinitely big and are determined in size by the daedric prince that rules them, the bigger they are the harder they are to sustain. An example of this is in the book "The infernal city" in which clavicas vile has some of his power stolen and so is forced to shrink his realm in order to maintain it

    I think it would be pretty cool to have a quest in a future Elder Scrolls game where you do the bidding of a random daedric prince for a reward or for some other consequential reason, Sheogrorath, a prince well know for trickery could be in disguise as this particular daedra as a means to get his way or some other agenda.
