I have had good experiences with FFP reels mainly the osprey CE. Love my bgmq's though. Reels are tanks Can you please do a review of the 2 new quantum reels? Apparently they got bought and are trying to reinvent their products and started with the 2 they have now.
So I had the osprey CE and loved it. Got the bahia 1k and to me it feels better. Also I personally know 2 people who were by quantum for years ( one tournament angler , one guide ) once quantum sold off the went to shit they both left quantum for Shimano I was gonna try a smoke reel but got that information and been Shimano mostly. Have the bahia 1k in the mix
@artificialslinger9730 don't get a smoke pt. I had one and it was FANTASTIC for about 4-6 months. Then the gears would grind and was never the same. Still a functioning reel and the drag is decent but went rough fast honestly. New ownership of quantum has only made the 2 reels so far. Smoke is still part of old ownership line.
Can you guys do a best big snook fishing reel? Here in broward county everyone just uses a staal but we all know there has to be a better option. Thanks.
8k Reel HG. Shimano Spheros SW>Saragosa> TwinPowerSW > StellaSW Daiwa Caldia>Certate>Saltiga I prefer Daiwa for all around fishing but if you throw artificials alot go for Shimano as it cast farther than daiwas.
If you surf fish alot and wants a cheaper VS check out the new Tsunami SaltX 2. Most prefer VS as its tried and true for its seals. Never have to worry about water intrusion and will always work even tho its a meat grinder. Make sure to save up and get the VSX tho.
@@kylefarokhnia6423 nice! You can never go wrong with any of the reels i mentioned it all preferences. Also you can service your own reels with shimanos, daiwas mag sealed roller bearing last longer but you have to send your to daiwa service center to get serviced.. I love the Saragosa and Saltiga out of all the reels i mentioned and i prefer fishing with PG as i can use them.for fast jigging offshore as well.
Hey can u make a daiwa saltiest vs daiwa saltiest back bay vs tsunami evict vs stradic. I think the shamino is the most but the other 3 I have seen go for around 160 and below when on sale thanks
Just my opinion for fishing this reels except tsunami.. StradicFM-best bang for your buck SaltistBackbay-underrated but very good internals StradicFL / Saltist-bang for ur buck Saltist MQ- too expensive for specs Tsunami Evict- chinesium internals
The Daiwa back bay has extreme frame flex. I had 2 and had daiwa exchange them out and they still flexed I personally stay away from anything tsunami. They are Walmart brand. Cheap and unreliable Stradic FL is the 2020 model Stradic FM is the 2024 model. I personally recommend the Stradic FM all day long
@@artificialslinger9730 really ? I have 2 of the back bays and love them I picked them up for 125 each in August. I’ve caught tog, fluke, and even over slot bass 40”inches+ no problems with them. I wanted to actually get more of them but Black Friday seems like everyone panicked bought and now there’s nothing online. I’ll probably have to wait a few months until places are sitting on gear they can’t sell and find a decent deal. I would get a stradic but those are around 200. I just picked up 2 tsunami rods from west marine 50 bucks each. John skinner uses them all the time and loves them so they gotta be good enough for me 🤷♂️
@@ShinkiZer0 where do you order them? And how do you get them serviced? I need 2 new spinning reels to throw on some cheaper rods I picked up but I don’t want to go pen slammer crap cheap. If I can find a bg or best bang for buck reels 80-150 bucks range
@@tailwateroutfitters yeah , but it's only for this week unfortunately . Size 3000 is 219.99 plus tax of 15.39 = 235.38 - $87 = $148.38. which a great deal. 💯 But year around Japan has them from 150 to 170. Right now they $163.34.
i get it how Shimano and Daiwa have become the premiere, bit if we can begin to support American companies that promote similar tier products, we have a formula to promote competition in ingenuity and pricing which is a win for us all.
Absolutely.. question is are the American companies up for it? They need to commit so we all can commit. There’s a reason why the world went one way or the other the past 30years, products across the board… pricing/cheap buyers aside. If an American company can built a ‘BG MQ’ level product (quality/innovation/pricing wise), I’m there. 20yrs ago, I tasted a GM/Dodge car (via a rental)… never looked that way ever again though am sure things are much better today. But damn took them 20-25yrs to catch up to an even level from a competition/quality perspective.

Still trying to get ahold of them. I fished the strive with seeyadude and was pretty impressed. Maybe I’ll just take his for a review video 😎
@tailwateroutfitters thanks man. I will be on the lookout. Heard great things about the benchmark but have yet to hold one let alone fish with it.

Tried the Osprey and it was sloppy. Just FYI. Sent it back immediately.
They definitely had their issues a few years back, but they’ve come a long way
Can we get a Vanford vs Tatula.
you talking about FFP reminded me of Dunder Mifflin

Check out Daiwa Caldia SW. Basicaly a 90%sepcs Jdm Saltist MQ but same price as BG MQ.

Any of these better than the Stradic. I’m looking for the best reel in this price range
Daiwa Caldia SW. its the Jdm version of saltist mq with 90% same specs. It goes on sale so often and can be cheaper than BG mq at times.
No , definitely go Stradic all day. Btw if you buy them directly from Japan the Stradics run $150 to $170
Still not as good a deal as our 40% back in store credit right now 🤷🏼♂️. A Stradic gets $87 back
