It ain't easy. I m the black sheep in my family. My mother I believe was the main reason we got Mass on a Sunday and I m 40years plusl. But we have to try + lead them in the right direction + I believe if the worst shit happens to them. They will remember The Mass + Rosary even the Angelus. That at the time of trying to learn them; they can go back to that + for those who had not yet experienced Christ; You have a bit of wriggle room. I have not had the opportunity to talk to my Son in 2years. Break ups can be tough. And this is a different time we are living in. 30 Years ago from a broken home, I said no to Christ. Don't wish for courage, pray for it! Ask God for exactly that, and pray the rosary and ask Our Blessed Mother. As someone who has lived most of his life without God and thinking I was in control, I can say there's nothing good within me that doesn't come from Him. The same goes for all of us. He will grant grace and strength to those who ask for it. Try it, and even if it doesn't happen right away, keep praying. He may answer your prayers in amazing ways you never would have thought of. I hear a message of hope, renewal in our Faith and a call to arms (the St. Michael sort). I refuse to succumb to the idea that ww3 is inevitable. We've been here before. However what we will need is strong leadership, secular and spiritual... now there's a question.
Yes one of the best sermons I've heard by an Irish priest. Usually they blather with anecdotes and cliches as they don't prepare their preaching before hand out of laziness. Yes we should follow our conscience but our conscience must be an INFORMED conscience shaped and moulded primarily by the scripture particularly the New Testament and then understood in the light of what has been faithfully authentically handed on in the doctrine of the Faith. The only argument I have is with some of his wording. The holy spirit does not form us via an inner gnosis as the "spirit speaks" to us. God speaks to us in the light of how well we know the Faith with our mind. We must enlightened our mind then this shapes our conscience. In the light of Christ's commandments, his teachings we examine our consciences, critique ourselves and the external world and times we live in. With the law of Christ we critique what we build in our relationships, locality, society and world. We are not informed or given the content of the Faith by feelings or inner messages. The content of the Faith isn't absorbed from some divine realm or via feelings.
Please Lord may i be an Apostle of Your Truth + Goodness + Please Lord; as some of us are failing Christ's very simple teachings.May we understand that it is Part of God's will to teach our Children of His Holy Ways. It's been years since I last saw Fr Pat! He was huge in the Charismatic Renewal, back in the day. The meetings have got fewer and further between, these days. He was like Fr (now Bishop) Barron, in his knowledge of philosophy, but was also well-read in psychology. On top of that, he had the mystical / Spirit-led angle that you always had from Charismatic speakers.
I wonder if this priest is still alive today. I wonder his reaction as he would look back on this sermon that he gave 14 years ago and see how correct he was.
He's very much alive.. Does a weekly healing hour (prayer) programme on radio Maria Ireland at the moment. You'll catch it on Podcast or tune in live tue evening around 7p.m. GMT (on last night) He also guides some of the 'Life In the Spirit Seminars'. I've attended recently again. So yeah, very much alive. Also has a healing ministry community called New Springtime. He used the term here I noticed...over 10 yrs before the community was set-up!
To realise this is from 2010 and that Fr Collins references an escalation of malevolent activity that took place within the previous 12 months, unprecedented with any time in his priesthood, hit hard with me. Exorcist Fr Ripperger, in one of his talks, admitted around 2016. That a demoniac told him in session that 'Things are really going to escalate in 2009'. That would give you goosebumps!
Jesus did not withdraw himself from sinners. He spoke with them, ate with them, and walked with them. How then are we to treat sinners? Would you shun them? Would you respond with mercy and encourage them to take on the yoke of Christ in so far as they are able? I know I am imprefect and working on the beattitudes. Hoping to meet with mercy and forgiveness, I extend mercy and forgiveness. Are we not judged as we judge? Things are bad and they are going to get worse is pessimism cloaked in religiosity. The 70s were a dark time, spiritually, in which Malthusian thinking and dystopianism were strong. Let us move on from that, for ours is not a land but a spiritual kingdom.
That was going so well, until 15.20 minutes in ! I could relate to the previous, especially 3.15 onwards, and the current anxieties that exist today. Boy am I feeling them 😢😢 But there ain’t gonna be any Re Evangelisation, no because that would go Against the Good Lords other words, (words that also have meaning ). “When He returns, will there be any faith on earth at all ?” That’s the complete opposite to any re birth of the church ⛪️ It’s strange tho, we were told to be aware of the coming of the Antichrist 🤔 Yet many fail to see who the Antichrist is ? (But it’s here) And worse still, Many people in the church promote it’s advancement across the Christian Western World, and now Many have to suffer the blindness of the promoters, (Who) still don’t know who the Antichrist is ?? 😢😢😢

This could be said at multiple times in the Church's history. It does not explain anything going on and does nothing but give "stay true to Jesus" as the solution. The Church has split in two. Don't deny that. Both sides believe they are "staying true to Jesus". One side is Evangelical Protestant fundamentalist in its attitudes, one has fidelity to the Pope.
It's not strange at all. We're all body of Christ and it's the Holy spirit who speaks to us all and abides us in love. The Sheep hear the voice of God.
Jesus warned us about these days. When Jesus came as the lamb sacrifice for the sins of the world then he fulfilled over 365 prophecies. But there are more than 2500 of Jesus returning to the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem Jesus prophesied that the Jews would be back in the Holy Land and Jerusalem would again be under Jewish rule. Luke 21:24 Jesus prophesied that no flesh would survive if Jesus didn’t return Mark 13:20 . Jesus is not coming back as a baby in the manger but as King of Kings and Lord of Lords Revelation 19:16 . Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be forgiven and saved for eternal life with Jesus forevermore
At 3:05 you cut to a newspaper article that reads “Gay Sex claims engulf Irelands oldest priest training college” and it’s done in reference to the church going through uncertain times with anxiety levels rising because shifts in tradition etc. But this article is focusing on just gay sex… what about priests who are having heterosexual sex? It’s like the worst is gay sex but there’s no headlines about the multitude of priest who have broken marriages up and remain priests without a social stigmatism but God forbid gay sex. Priest have also abused children but gay sex is the bad one. What exactly are we condemning here? The pope has said priests can offer a blessing on gay couples and this has caused a shift in the Catholic Church and its clergy where some feel it’s not right to give a blessing on ppl? What does that say about your practice in your religion though? About your faith in Gods love and mercy. Blessings are to be handed out only to certain ppl? Did Jesus not go against Temple instruction and help the lepers?

What a wonderfully sobering message of hope. Yes be cautious, yes 'be calm but vigilant' but great hope. Ours is the victory, won in Jesus' name.

Yes one of the best sermons I've heard by an Irish priest. Usually they blather with anecdotes and cliches as they don't prepare their preaching before hand out of laziness. Yes we should follow our conscience but our conscience must be an INFORMED conscience shaped and moulded primarily by the scripture particularly the New Testament and then understood in the light of what has been faithfully authentically handed on in the doctrine of the Faith. The only argument I have is with some of his wording. The holy spirit does not form us via an inner gnosis as the "spirit speaks" to us. God speaks to us in the light of how well we know the Faith with our mind. We must enlightened our mind then this shapes our conscience. In the light of Christ's commandments, his teachings we examine our consciences, critique ourselves and the external world and times we live in. With the law of Christ we critique what we build in our relationships, locality, society and world. We are not informed or given the content of the Faith by feelings or inner messages. The content of the Faith isn't absorbed from some divine realm or via feelings.
Please Lord may i be an Apostle of Your Truth + Goodness + Please Lord; as some of us are failing Christ's very simple teachings.May we understand that it is Part of God's will to teach our Children of His Holy Ways. He was huge in the Charismatic Renewal, back in the day. The meetings have got fewer and further between, these days.
He was like Fr (now Bishop) Barron, in his knowledge of philosophy, but was also well-read in psychology. On top of that, he had the mystical / Spirit-led angle that you always had from Charismatic speakers.

Jesus did not withdraw himself from sinners. He spoke with them, ate with them, and walked with them. How then are we to treat sinners? Would you shun them? Would you respond with mercy and encourage them to take on the yoke of Christ in so far as they are able? I know I am imprefect and working on the beattitudes. Hoping to meet with mercy and forgiveness, I extend mercy and forgiveness. Are we not judged as we judge?
Things are bad and they are going to get worse is pessimism cloaked in religiosity. The 70s were a dark time, spiritually, in which Malthusian thinking and dystopianism were strong. Let us move on from that, for ours is not a land but a spiritual kingdom.

This could be said at multiple times in the Church's history. It does not explain anything going on and does nothing but give "stay true to Jesus" as the solution. The Church has split in two. At 3:05 you cut to a newspaper article that reads “Gay Sex claims engulf Irelands oldest priest training college” and it’s done in reference to the church going through uncertain times with anxiety levels rising because shifts in tradition etc.
But this article is focusing on just gay sex… what about priests who are having heterosexual sex? It’s like the worst is gay sex but there’s no headlines about the multitude of priest who have broken marriages up and remain priests without a social stigmatism but God forbid gay sex.
