Facts
I like your ears
Vince easily carries conversations in a honest and impactful manner. he understands a lil of everything which makes anything he speaks on highly anticipated. shout out to him for both of those albums.
Pharrell's "In My Mind" DEFINITELY deserves more appreciation
Such an incredible record...
The king of bridges
The “Remix” with The Yessirs is a gem. 🙌🏽
ou
@DEV ZEPPLIN thank you bc I was about to say the same thing; the ?uestlove/James Poser/Adam Blackstone touch was craaazy
I have so much appreciation for Pharrell’s patience with FamLay 🤣
Vince & Pharrell are both such interesting individuals, both have had a huge influence on the culture and always have a unique perspective on life. Can’t wait to work with them one day 🫰🏾
Vince staples has the gift of being an amazing listener. He's the type of guest to push the ball forward by just asking questions!!! It's a gift to be able to tell stories, that actually turns the conversation into a conversation. "Great Interview"
INSAAAAAAANNE GRADING!! 🔥🔥🔥
BEAUTIFUL INTERVIEW. ALWAYS APPRECIATE HEARING VINCE SPEAK
🏆🥇
Listening to Vince’s evolutionary learning curve via his albums in real time is special. It’s also a testament to his talent. What he did with what he had was always so much more than he shoulda had in him.
This interview was some amazing brain food, you can tell they all genuinelly wanted to talk and converse, even with Fam Lay the engagement was pure just by the emotional feedback lol this was gold. Social media most times try to get us to think the same but thats the thing were not designed to. Plus in a world where everybody thinks the same the world collectively will be very dull. Hence why a world ran by robots will never work
This podcast is a hidden gem 💎 and I’m grateful to find it
the grading on this looks insane
dude. like, why?
Loved this convo so much and just how natural and genuine it felt! Also the color grading in this video is so nice to look at visually 🔥
We appreciate the ❤❤❤
Thanks for having my bud Vince on here!
🙏
I needed to hear about Pharrell s take on "ascension" at this very exact moment in my life.
When Vince called his mom & she was like “mayyyneee” 😂😂
Vince and Pharrell combo is awesome
Vince is a gem protect them at al costs
I love Vince's mindset because that's exactly how I am now. I'm just living...I'm not trying to conceptualize anything...only when it's put into action at the moment that it is.
@Pason Jayne What?! Lol. You seem jealous! 😂😂😂🤣🤣😭😭😭
I love these open conversation format videos. I never knew I needed Vince x Pharrell x Fam-Lay having a conversation like this but my life is better for it. I love that it's people who don't speak to the media often coming together to have a very REAL conversation. So much transparency and authenticity. This is definitely one of those videos I'm gonna come back to often. I really love when Vince gets to sit down in settings like these vs the more structured radio etc appearances. Reminds me of his conversation with Hasan Minhaj for GQ.
starting off talking about when sparks fly is how i know this will be a great interview
What Vince said at 45:23 was so spot on! There is no more interaction with the common man.
This interview was beyond dope. And LMAO @ the dude with locs saying casually saying a robot can be throwing your grandma out the window 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 wth
lmaooo every example he gave was too much
+1 on when Scott said he still listens to When Sparks Fly at least 5 times a week..
Same. On repeat until further notice 🔁
fam lay is me in every group project
One of the realest out there
I recognized the In My Mind comment from Pharrell instantly. If you were listening to his In My Mind mixtape leading up to the album at that time, you know how much of a disappointment the actual album was, and how much it impacted him. That switch between that Pharrell (and his ego), and this Pharrell. Like two totally opposite people.
I think it was a huge moment of growth that really separated him from everyone else.
Facts that mixtape gangsta grills was dope. I did like in my mind though..some really good records on their
@@MrCreditMoneyBudget True. I ended up liking it more over time.
such a dope convo!! loved this
Thanks for watching!
This convo applies to all art creation - enjoyed it
I never really liked Vince Staples or thought highly of him in any regard but after deciding to just sit and watch/listen to this discussion with him, I now have a new outlook and respect for this guy.
Wait wait wait … he said “in my mind” was failure? Naaaaaa . That’s a effin classic!
the failures are usually the things that stick out and separate themselves and inspire others to do so. i.e Tyler The Creator.
Im re-watching this in 2024... 58:07. BIg Salutes on this side of the internet lol
"Its that question again." 😂😂😂
Gold gold gold
I just love hearing him TALK! 😊
I’m just hype to see Vince in a Mets hat
I need friends like Pharrell who can have conversation like this I think it’s because people my age are moving to fast

These interviews are alwaes great.
🙏✨
Bro tell me how I JUST heard the news about Takeoff passing, then I click back on this interview and the first thing I hear is Vince talking about dice games and how it’s “too much risk, too little reward”. Fuuuuuuuuck! 💔
Rumour has it that one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.
Real convo rte here !
Let's go 😤
Black man said "I ain't gambling! ...wish the rest of us could overstand that . Someone else presets the game and we fall into it thinking we will "win".
At first this was boring but I caught the chill vibe and got used to the mellow tone

Watching this made me wonder what JME would be like on this podcast
11storages??? ...for stuff ( that's how much and how many people love this brothers work )...love the message in this .good one for a country about to go through withdrawal economically also about understanding that we are not our things .very wise coming from what many consider as thought leaders for a generation ...it's not really stating the obvious or full on issues it's trying to inspire ..interesting .
9:07 IT'S WHO WE ARE AS A BLACK RACE WE BUILD/CREATE WUTEVA THAT MAYBE AN THE PEOPLE COME TO MARVEL AT US AND OUR NEW CREATION, BUILD IT UP FOR THE PEOPLE TO MARVEL AT THE PEOPLE WILL COME JUST LIKE THE PYRAMIDS 👁️👁️ BLINK BLINK

I love Vince but I think this interview is the first time I see him being defensive & a little combative because of the way he heard the questions instead of listening to how they were asked. The good energy started to die because he kept trying to say how "everyone does this, everyone does that" or repeating why his songs "are verse hook no bridge cause nobody helped me" when nobody was even saying anything about them "not being good enough".
I hope he learns how to get over fighting off *that* "exec" in his head or defending himself and can open up and talk about his art more like "I wrote it this way" or "I fcked with the beat because". It's unfortunate cause P was even gassing the one bar in his track and he turned it into "nobody appreciates Earl" when earlier he said it shouldn't matter because the influence is more meaningful than the noise.
Just be okay with what it is and appreciate yourself as well for what you've done and when people connect to things you've said. I love Vince, thought this would be the best interview for him to just relax and speak more openly but he was quite defensive (and no defensive doesn't have to be loud or negative, it can just be closed off).
You really have no idea what you're talking about.
🖖🏾❤
did tyler edit this
The internet is Babel
That’s what I’m saying- Famlay
They finally remembered their youtube password 😩
