The darkest secret of smash youtube is that high gsp doesn’t mean anything
It means you win a lot...
but it doesn't describe how...
I was trash, had low GSP. Played more, got better, got higher GSP. Seems like its working the way its supposed to. I ignore all the fake semi pros who act like being good online doesnt translate into being good offline. In my experience people who dont put in online time get slaughtered. Unless your offline group plays all the time, they just arent getting enough games in.
@@shihoblade Facts. Sparg0 was and is a beast online and people underestimated him for that because "Online is cOmPlEtElY dIfFeReEnT!" As if Sparg0 was playing a totally different game. As soon as he got offline, he was considered to be the 2nd best player in the world.
@@shihoblade you absolutely can get better using online, I for one got a lot better by playing vs my local competitive scene in battle arenas, but elite smash doesn’t give nearly the same quality of matches; there’s no way to limit who you get queued up with, most of the time the added input delay is atrocious and encourages playstyles and habit that will get you hard punished when that input delay is removed (i.e. playing in-person/in a better connection).
@@tup4236 Again I think thats only an issue at the HIGHEST level of play. If you arent a pro and arent spending most of your time playing against pros then the difference hardly shows. Every Smash player on youtube talks like they are only one step removed from Cosmos and are about to challenge G4 Leo.

This was not the 1st time someone sent a match where they lost. I think it happened thrice now.
am i the only one who fluctuates wildly in elite smash...? my PT is like 10.6m. but if i lose 3-4 in a row (common occurrence) i drop out. then have to get a win to get back in.. then can will a few in a row to get back up to 10.6
What i found funny was i posted my clip in the server and it was deleted the next day. Kinda confused me why that happened

are people putting in their highest GSP with their best character and then showing a different replay? or are they putting in their current GSP and showing an old replay from when they were lower?
I guessed none of those people were in elite smash mainly due to their opponents being a little rough around the edges... and I know the game doesn't give you a low GSP opponent if you're in Elite Smash.
admittedly, some of these characters were higher tier, or unpredictable so I guess it could make sense.
