Some characters' properties also make it harder to deal with than others like for example a tall character is harder to jump over but a short one is easier to jump over. This is Phil's one legit complaint which is that he couldn't jump over zangief's drive impact the way zangief could jump over his while playing lily. But there's a trade off becauze zangief's drive impact is bad at hitting low profile. Other than that his complaints are bullshit and he was just using it the wrong way.
Phil complaining that Dhalsim, a zoner that excels at setups with fire balls and stretchy arms to keep people at bay has a super not meant for countering people. Almost like the point is that Dhal is not good up close unless you are already on offense. You know, an obvious weakness to the playstyle when you don't do it right.
Dhalsim has been designed that way ever since SF2 and hes been playing him like a close encounter player. Why is STILL wondering why hes getting bodied? Hes supposedly a former street fighter champion. You would think that would be some basic shit he would know.
@Marqueze Kelley the tutorial tells you how to counter them. Use your own DI, parry, throw, supers,jumping. It has 27 frames of start up. You can react to it and counter it so much. It's literally how I got to Gold so fast

He's the type to play the Ultra S tier hero that is godlike in the hands of a master, but useless if you dont know the basics of play just bwcause he likes their design better

A normal person would just quit the game for a few moments and quietly clean up the mess made by their cat. Phil, on the other hand, has to make a huge spectacle of the whole event just to make it another part of his khantent.
Drive impact isn't a bad mechanic, you have to learn to aticipate it, just like anticipating grabs and teching it. But it's a massive punish for people who just spam cause you armor right through it unless they manage to get three strikes in really quick like Chun's lightning kicks. Just proves that Phil spams, and can't anticipate things, cause it's as simple as jumping or grabbing to beat it. As for Marisa? Ya, her damage is off the charts,but she has no air defence outside of I guess using her charge punch to tank an air attack then punish when they land. But once again he's beaten by her defense stance "Scutum" if auto shoves forward for small damage if you hit her, she can also perform a low, overhead, and command grab from it too. He really REALLY needs to stop saying "I don't know what that move is"then shrug and complain and really go look these characters up, the game even has guides that show you their strengths, weaknesses and moves above the combo trials.

Dude's who spam drive impact are the best people to fight in the game. Landing a counter drive impact is like stunning your opponent. If you know a halfway decent combo that's the easiest damage in the game.

Marisa does have an uppercut special that combos into a ground pound hit which is great damage

DSP isn't good at fighting games he's good at Super Turbo, and okay at other versions of Street Fighter 2. Anything else he sucks at.
