That Chapter has a great video on the Gainesville Ripper. That guy was a true piece of s**t. You know it's bad when the kills in Scream are actually toned down from the actual murders.
This was great. I had no idea the killer was loosely based on a real person. I just thought this was a meta horror that expanded on New Nightmare's concept of self awareness in the horror genre. But its interesting to see how this story compared to the real events.
Did research project on it near halloween last year while wearing a ghostface costume. The killings were very brutal, even surprised me with how violent the scenes of the crime were.
I grew up with the Scream movies. My sister had one of the original Ghostface costumes released after Scream 2 was released. These films also shaped my love of not just horror but all cinema. Recently I went to a convention which happened to fall on Halloween dressed up as Ghostface (25th anniversary robe); most popular cosplay I’d ever done. Stoked for the sixth film in March of 2023!
Without going into TOO much detail, the Gainesville Ripper had a habit of decapitation and posing victims. This is more in line with Michael Myers, which makes Billy’s quote “Movie don’t create psychos, movies make psychos more creative” even more frightening. It makes you wonder what media he’d watch.
A modern Classic. One of the Best Intros Ever. It was unbelievable. Killing off a Star in the opening Segment!? Great job by the young, then unknown actors. Wes Craven is a True Master.
Best decade for horror was the 80's when it got to the 90's it hit a dead end scream definitely gave it a Resurgence it being self aware the humor the performances brand knew horror villain in Ghostface just a classic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm old enough to remember the actual crimes and subsequent trial. Way back in the day when that asshole Danny Rolling was on trial, there was footage of him singing in court sounding like a fool. Folks joked he looked and acted like a Bill Murray character 😀
I was 17 the year scream came out...i was in juvenile detention its opening weekend...a guy got brought in that had just left the theater when he got arrested and brought in...about 25 of us delinquents sitting in the dark while this guy tells us the whole movie scene by scene lol we were all laughing and asking so many questions about the movie and the actors. He explained as much as he could under the circumstances...the day i went home i went and saw the movie and loved it though i knew it all the way through...
Ugh this movie taught me it’s not worth it answering strange calls it’s one thing to be killed but it’s another to have to get sassed over your horror movie knowledge before so .
Saying Scream is based on a true story is like saying, the Fast and the Furious is based on the life of Henry Ford, because they both have cars in them.
SCREAM is such an overrated movie. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good. It’s never been scary to me though. They put too much emphasis on characters being funny that they forgot to actually add suspense and scare in the movie. Overall, it’s extremely overrated
this is the movie that got me into horror when i was 13 and it just came out. to this day, a brilliant classic. scream 2 also. i just rewatched #5 last night and it’s still ok but wasn’t as much fun as the first time i saw it, while i’ve seen the original close to 60 times and it is always entertaining.
This is one of those rare movies that NEVER gets old. Absolute classic
The classic of classics. What new nightmare started. Scream perfected
Yes it did
This movie is one of my favourite horror-classics. Perfect.
still to this day the best opening to a horror movie
One of the very few flawless films in the world. Up there with Silence of the Lambs and Alien.

even more true when you look at the murder the movie inspired

It also single handedly ruined the rest of the 90s for horror
@@-redacted_by_youtube yeah horror was pretty much dead in the 90's there was nothing else to do with it all the great ideas were done In the 80's
I would say the first Scream is the Halloween of the 90's. It was that good when I saw it in theaters.
Idk why but this movie’s Northern California setting works really well for its story
You forgot Kenny the cameraman was killed too.
One of my favourites! Watch it every year :) and love it more everytime

Great video .. anything scream related makes my day
Started the most consistent Horror Movie series in history.

Scream is my all time fav horror franchise, love all 6 films so far and looking forward to the 7th😊
No matter what, Scary Movie 1 and 2 ruined horror movies for me. Everytime i watch Scream or the Exorcist, i start giggling thinking of the spoofs.
I would love if someone would talk the killer out of killing in a horror movie
what a coincidence, just finished watching part 2 again
I'm New here but I love your content ❤❤❤❤❤
Guy should've been a musician, his song slaps.
Ugh this movie taught me it’s not worth it answering strange calls it’s one thing to be killed but it’s another to have to get sassed over your horror movie knowledge before so .
Why were you showing clips of "Scary Movie", not "Scream" at the end???
To make viewers at ease, I guess
Yes, we all know who Daniel Rolling is.
best slasher imo!
This movie is a classic now. Amen.
My favorite scary movie!
So uhm there's no relationship to actual events, that's quality content here...
Wait so Drew Barrymore’s character dies in the beginning of the movie? Scheez thanks for the spoilers Joblo 😂.
Went on my first date and seen this lol damn I'm old lol
Saying Scream is based on a true story is like saying, the Fast and the Furious is based on the life of Henry Ford, because they both have cars in them.
This has practically next to nothing to do with the Gainesville ripper other than serving as inspiration.
Why is this guy always asking what happened to these movies? Lol
Where can I get those Adidas Sidney had. They are pretty lit!!
Ah, so thats why they rip on motives in the movie.
👍👍
Only 2 good horror films of 90s this and dead alive / brain dead
Oh please. Event Horizon was pretty good. Come on man!!!

The Radio Silence reboot is not as funny it's more on the horror side.
Darn it. You never said spoilers ahead. I won't watch that movie now I know what is going to happen. Thanks
the murder it inspired is more interesting
He was not sick. Rolling was just evil.
Plan on making one for Amityville Horror, Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
Scream is decent. Billy and Stu stabbing each other is the best part. 2 sucks, 3 is terrible and 4 is entertaining. Haven't watched 5 yet.
SCREAM
1 & 4 & 5
sucks
Scream 3 sucks!!
Is that you harvey
Lol this is such bait. Scream is one of the most consistent slasher franchises
No.
Fatherless behavior

5 is a pile of shit lol
@@davidporter671 no it isn't. Your opinion is trash
@@ohhKilla Are you one of those people they hire to give it good press or are you just some young kid who doesn't know what good cinema is.
