    😃 Nice one Jiggsy. Stick with the lightburn software, it is great and does exactly what you want and does it really well. I'm loving my DIY KIT so far and it seems as good as my Sculpfun S9 so far. Thanks for the video 😁👍

      Yeah definitely enjoying the machine and what it can do. Am playing around with Lightburn and then also my graphic design software to create some designs... though I need a lot more time for all the ideas I have 🤣
      Hoping to feature some of the ideas in another video soon.

    AlgoLaser seems to be a good brand
    I can afford a 5w laser but I would love to know of the 22w ones are better?
    Have you been able to cut anything with 5w? Or does this one work better w wood or metal?

    • @JiggsysShed
      @JiggsysShed  3 месяца назад +1

      So far I have been impressed with the capability of the unit given its price range. I have managed to cut 3mm ply with the 5w, but I would definitely recommend going stronger if you want to do cutting with less passes or to cut thicker wood. I do have a video out where I showed 2mm ply being cut.
      The benefit of the DIY kit is that it is upgradeable if you were to start at the 5w as you would just need to upgrade the module. A friend has the 10w unit and it definitely performs better with cutting.
      I have not yet tried it on metal, but I think you can inly engrave metal with the 5w.

      Amazing! I do not aim to cut anything thicker than 3mm but I would definitely love to give the 5w a try at first… well, that is also due to budget constraints since I dint have a project for cutting or engraving yet. But thank you for the quick response, it gave me some room to think and wait for a project before getting a unit. Maybe Ill go straight with a 10w . Love the video

      Thank you for watching and glad you liked the video.
      When I was given this laser I didn't have a choice as only the 5W was available then, my preference would be a 10W, because it will allow for less passes when cutting. However, I am happy with what can be done with the 5W.
      I would recommend considering getting an enclosure for it as that does limit me using it currently, though I will be creating a dedicated space in the workshop for it.
