appreciate the time you spent filming this. I have a 1995 LS400 with 298,000 miles. I just pulled the Denso alternator & had a electrical automotive shop rebuild it, bad contact brush & one sightly worn bearing.. Next day I reinstalled. When & if my starter goes, I will do the same thing. With your video I won't panic. Thank you. I'm not turning in the core. (no more of that) I'm simply having the original rebuilt due to "part store" quality parts.. This motor 1UZ along with the 4sp "truck" transmission is a masterpiece of engineering and FAA certified.
Everytime he says “guys”, take a shot. Anyways great video thank you so so much. Been very helpful for me replacing my starter. I’m almost done and I appreciate how thoroughly you explain the process
Preciate this man this is the last piece I need to complete this. No other video will show them taking the starter bolts out just the before and after. (1994 sc400)
Def gonna bring this to the shop :) looks like a bitch. This is almost as much work as it takes to install like a super charger. If you're in there anyway you might as well replace injectors and the intake gaskets and what not.
What happened at 15:00 ? I am stuck at that step. The fuel rail is stuck in the way. It seems like I need to remove all the fuel supply lines to break it loose.
@@aaronmobilemechanictv7841 I haven't broken anything yet, but I have tried to remove the flex line on the driver's side that supplies the rail... but the lines refuse to separate after I backed off the 14mm and 19mm flare nuts as far as they will go... I am stripping the 14mm nut when I try to loosen it further. Gasoline is getting everywhere in the process... I am stuck.... It is enough to drive a man to drink 🍻
@@tylersen3318 I will have to do this in the future on my LS400. Thanks god years and years ago in the 1990s I bought a metric snap-on flare nut wrench set. So I recommend the highest quality flare nut wrench set for this. If PRC China flare nut wrench set, don't even begin the job with that. Throw away now.
Why would you need to haha. You’re only taking off your intake manifolds and fuel rail. No coolant involved in this job. The coolant hose you might be thinking off won’t leak at that height, being one of the highest points of the car.

Funny as fuck
nice
Literally in two weeks I’m attempting this and I see I’m going to have to start early
You got it believe in yourself Safety First slow and steady wins the race

Yes you don't want to bend or break nothing

What length flex head ratchet?
Hey did you have to drain the coolant before starting this job then refill after ? Thanks !

It’s a 4.0
Yes it is
thank you, I'll likely be rewatching this video soon for my starter lol
