A lot of people are scared to death to buy modified cars which can be justifiable. A little knowledge goes a long ways. This is one car where I'd whish it to have aftermarket heads out of the gate. I'm guessing this car is squared away since it looks to have AHP heads on it.
All C5 & 6 Z's are a blast to drive, especially modded. I have an 09 built by Lingenfelter and respect must be given when driving these awesome Vettes.
I was really hoping you bought this car Toys lol. I almost bought a C6Z in 2019 for 34k with 17k miles on it. I would have needed to take out a full loan on it at the time and and that was counter productive to our goals. Congrats to Ben and his C6Z
C6 is a much better package. Yeah, I know they are largely the same chassis but I prefer the interior and shorter design with the C6 so that’s how I personally went.
I think they are fairly close. I would say if the LS3 and the visual appeal of the C6 interior and body are your preference then the C6 for 10k more might be worth it. The C6 Z06 is a whole different beast. Make sure the head issue is resolved and it is a fantastic machine!
Great video. The c6z with full bolt ons should absolutely be in the 600 rwhp range with a decent tune. Tune might be off per your analysis. Thanks again for some great entertainment and info.

Man I fell in love with this car back in high school 2012 , the midnight club LA video game. Also the 2010 Camaro SS. That's when I realized to put video games and junk food down and get to work..
Aesthetically, yes. It has the popup headlights, the C6 has a more modern interior and updated engine lineup. Only thing I don’t like about the later gen Corvettes is the electronic door handles, very stupid design.
The C7 Z06 is more refined than the C6 Z06. And I’m sure the C8 Z06 will be more refined than the C7. The question will be, will the C9 be a combustion engine or electric.

Waste of money imo. Manual trans, cam, loud mean sound, raw. That's what I want. I don't feel manly hearing a space ship when I put my foot down. I think going electric is hilarious and it will reverse In the future.

If I could change one thing about my c5 it would be the dash, I love the c6 dash and instrument cluster. The c6 is a lovely looking car but they took away the pop up lights and to me that's the best feature on the vette.
@@Toys4Life the one huge ac vent and the oh crap handle to me is just off on the c5 dash. I know the oh crap handle is iconic for the vette but I like the c6 dash better.

Hey, I love this c6z06 setup! I heard him say that it has kooks headers and a full exhaust, but do you happen to know what exhaust it is? It has Corsa tips on it according to some other comments in here, so I'm assuming it's a Corsa full exhaust. Maybe sport? It doesn't sound like an extreme to me, but it's tough judging by video. Any info is appreciated, and nice video!
Those c6z always detonate like that. Shouldn’t be pulling timing at 17 degrees but sometimes they do. My guess is they milled the heads and put a kind of small cam with a tighter lobe separation making the dynamic compression high for pump fuel. Any build specs?
AHP package 4 heads (not sure if they were milled and if so, how much was removed). Cam 225/242.4 118 LSA. We are hoping his gas was a little stale and a fresh 93 octane fill will cure it. Appreciate your comments sir!
I did a little math, had to guess for some of it so could be off a tinny bit. But that cam with 11:1 is like 8.34:1 dynamic and 9.09:1 if the heads are milled to bump static to 12:1. That would be the limit for pump gas. Should be fine. You probably have old or cheap fuel in the car. Take a compression test and see what you have. If it’s over like 195-200 that’s going to be hard to keep from rattling the pistons

Love all generation Zs, but let's be honest, it all comes down to personal preference. If all generation Zs were the same price, everyone would be in the c8z. We try to convince ourselves that one generation is "the best" but it's a formula of price, comfort, speed, driving connection, purpose of vehicle. I chose a C7z because it is the most updated one within my price range and has a bunch of power/cost to mod is cheaper than other cars in the price range, and is a manual/t top. You can't convince someone that has a 30k budget that a 70k c7z is better than a c5z. And you can't convince someone who has a 70k budget, who can afford a c7z that a dinosaur like a c5z is better than a c7z.
I see your point and can't comment directly because I've never driven a C7Z. Then having been said, there are more than a few with the means that have upgraded to the C7Z and have found themselves coming back to the C5Z because for some it's perceived to be a much more raw sports car feel. So I think even that depends on what your preferences are. I'll report back when I have the chance to own a C7Z (:-) appreciate the comment sir!

I’ve got 345’s R888R’s on my 06 z06 with HCI 600whp and they do not hook. Need a drag radial for sure.
They don't hook on street conditions, or prep track conditions or both?

It has kooks ceramic coated headers, kooks 3" midpipe w high flow cats, borla attack muffler w C7 4.5" corsa tips
