I was a bit disappointed when the c7 came out with the square tail lights. And the new C8 is incredible and exotic looking, but it does not look like a Corvette. I've had a black 08 C6Z with the same mods as my daily driver for years, although silver C7Z wheels. I've had others before (including a quick SC C5Z which I really liked too), and still have much faster and more attention getting cars, but I think my C6Z is still one of my favorite cars I've ever owned. The C7Z never seemed to inspire me as much, too much added weight and I like the smoother lines of the C6Z better. The C8Z is the first vette that really has me wanting to upgrade, but I'm finding it hard to justify given the price delta and how much I still like my C6Z. I think doing H/C will likely keep me happy until the used C8Z market becomes rational (10 years? My favourite American muscle car
Is heads work critical on all years of the c6 z06 or chevy did fix the valve dropping issue ?
It's a hit or miss. It's a type of mod that it might as well be done just to prevent and enhance durability and performance. That's my take from these older year Z06's
@@gvaspirated im looking in finding a 06 z06 , hope i find one with this work done already , thanks bud ,sick ride !
@@gvaspiratedFailure to press all exhaust valve guides "true". Thus snapping an exhaust valve under lo rpm heavy throttle application, from what I've learned. Had OEM Lingenfelter upgraded heads replace mine. No more LS7 crate engines. Do your homework or go Fred Flintstone.
Great video, keep growing man
Appreciate it man:)
Great video and your reaction on the first pull.
It was a true shocker. Even to this day, I haven't felt something like that. Maybe the tesla, but that's another story. hahha
I have the Ron Fellows Edition and had Kooks headers and a CAI added and on the dyno it is putting 496 to the wheels
I used to live in tampa fl, And worked at 3 dealerships, 2 of them being chevy stores, back when the C6 was the current gen. I was able to drive a handful of C6 Z06 and 1 C5Z. The C6Z is a little monster. Fast. I have a C5 6spd coupe now, i have vids of it on my channel here, and I love the car. But ive been thinking about upgrading to another Vette. The C6 Z06 is on my radar. That or a C6 ZR1. Nice review man!
It was such a pleasure to finally drive one
Thanks for you comment bro!
@@gvaspirated no problem man! 👍🏻
Hopefully I get mine soon hopefully 🙏
LUCKY MAN!
I love the way the car looks and handles
I agree with you 1000%
Can't wipe that smile away...ever!!
I remember on Top Gear's track the Z06 was faster than the Ferrari F430,Zonda,Murcielago. And it was just a few milliseconds slower than the 996 GT3RS and Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale
Had a fully built one. Sold it and now can't afford another one. Hopefully one day
Needs more owner 👀
Leave it to the pros!
I can confirm the z06 is awesome 👌
I couldn't agree more man!
_Brave guy for driving this beautiful car with the traction control off. The sixth gen only got better and better into its nnce model year run._
Hi, I have to daily my Z06 now but at least seeing this made me feel somewhat happy about it lol!
The drag coefficient of these is also .283 too.
Aggressive, the C7 probably makes u pp on ur self. LOL That nice Colbalt steering wheel & interior. If it doesn’t drop a valve they’re pretty good runners.
I think I’m going to trade my 2016 auto mustang 5.0 for six speed Manual C6 corvette. This video convinced me. Any car that make someone smile like that is worth looking into
100% do it, you wont regret it!
Picked mine up and love it. Want to get a zr1 now but I think I’ll procharge it and then save and pick up a c7 zr1! Lmk what y’all think or if I should ditch the c6 z06 and get a c6 zr1
I would take the c6 ZR1 just because of the look and weight! If you could get it in Blue.... SHEEEEESH
I dont have a C6Z, but I do have a 2011 Grand Sport, and I love the car so damn much
I want to drive a grand sport! I wanna see the difference
@GV Aspirated they do have differences, but I think the Grand Sport is closer to the Z06 than it is to the base. The Grandsport, I think, is perfect for Z06 style performance, with base model style comfortability. The Manual transmission Grand Sports have a Hand Built LS3 with a dry sump system and shorter gearing. I love it. I think it's a perfect balance between the Z06 and the base.
7:18 that initial reaction was priceless hahaa
Yep I did the exact same lol
470 put found feet of torque ?! damn !
Very beautiful car . Wonderful review
Thank you so
Much for your comment! It means so much!
"470 put found feet of torque" lol all love
LMFAO NOOB ALERTTTT
😆
I love Vettes.
Same! This car changed my perspective on them
Try the C7 Z06 and let us see your face on that one! It warps Time… 😂😂😂😂 so much FUN!! We have a C6 Z06 as well…. Such awesome Machines. Try one….
Wow such a beautiful vehicle. Kept in great shape for black paint. If only I had a little extra cash and I would buy it!
Loans bro! xD but yeah man. Definitely a privilege to have driven it.
Great video
Now I want one... thanks
You and me both dude! Such an insane experience
C6z are great cars for the price !
agreed!
Unfortunately very hard to find and very expensive here in New Zealand ($60,000 and climbing).
Looks like the clutch was slipping a little bit under heavy acceleration, definitely the best bang for the buck.
I could feel it, yeah! I agree 100%
Probably traction control. My z06 did that and so does my ZR1.
He said “Poot found feet of torque” 😂😂
get this guy some milk bro smh
Obviously an automotive expert.
My fav corvette, sick
I have the 2009 version of that same car. 540 crank is probably conservative if a good tune was done after the header install.
Wish cars today weighed closer to 3000lbs instead of 4000lbs+... :(
Yeah man it seems that this car keeps getting further and further away with these dynamics (weight, motor, etc.) It's such a privilege to own one of these.
Corvette C6 The Legend never dies
That is so true man!
I know I know I live it everyday!!🤣🤣🤣
Same
Puts a smile on my face every I get in it, I love the car, I hope to get a C-8 before I die. LOL
TIME
one day i will own this car
Release those bald eagles!!!! I daily drove my c6 for over a year and it was a breeze - except for getting in and out but that is a small price to pay to feel like the king of the world everytime you drive your car. C6 Vettes are the go to do it all car. BTW if you keep your foot out of it the vettes get GREAT mileage for a big v8.
c6 Z06 best value performance sports car available
Daily drove my 2007 Z for 2 years. Multiple 400 mile trips. x2 1300 mile trips (straight through, future cannonball car?). I’d say it is the best “super car” beating daily driver car you can buy. I recorded 26mpg on one of those 1300 mile trips cruising along at 75 in 6th gear. I’ve literally taken naps in the back before 😂, what other car can you do that in. Getting heads cam, new seats, slight interior upgrades on mine rn, future plans of a supercharger. Clicking along at 108k, but still has plenty to go!
Wow! That's crazy! That's so awesome to hear. I really enjoyed driving the Z06 man.
All you need to enjoy the real beauty of that car is some twisty mountain canyon roads....with the right tires it has roller coaster grip so engaging you are addicted.....
just jim
Man, I wish I could take it out there! That would be superb!
Did you eventually buy a Z06?
very nice car I have one just like it 👍🏿
Absolutely love the c6 Z platform man. You're one lucky man!
Sounds great but it also sounds like either the clutch is slipping or the tires are seriously slipping
Probably both TBH
All this and naturally aspirated too wow
Unreal car man.... ahead of it's time! To this day still a marvelous car
