- Let's talk about UVC lights that are used to kill bacteria and inactivate viruses.
Unfortunately there’s a lot of FAKE and substandard products being sold!
There are literally thousands of people buying “UVC wands” that are actually just colored LEDs or UVA LEDs, meaning it's not really sanitizing anything.
There are also people buying genuine UVC wands, which include low-pressure mercury lamps. The problem is, they all look the same, but the amount of UVC they generate varies hugely.
For example, I compared a wand from UV Care which generated 1950 μW/cm² at 2 inches

Sunlight usually degrades many plastics and rubber. Do UVC harm those as well?
Extended uvc exposure can affect, discolor or potentially degrade some materials.
Thanks for the information, it's useful to scan money too, and it's fun because you can see the UV sensitive patterns while doing that 😁😁
And I think my wand it's real UVC, because I scanned my money through a glass and it's not reflecting those UV marks.

For your foot fungus I suggest dipping your foot into listerine for about 5 mins.
How to replace the bulb on UVC disinfection desk lamp by philips please :P (I don't want it to be a disposable item.) It seems you can just push up the bulb. However, the speaker/touch plate seems to be in the way.

The test kit for uvc is hard to find here in the Philippines
You can get UVC test cards for 50-100 Pesos on Lazada or Shopee. They don't give you an exact reading but they tell you whether UVC is present or not.
