At first I thought this guy was a tool, watching the back end sink into the sand. Then I realized he knew what he was doing! Nice demonstration, that truck rocks in the sand.
Thanx. It's a 6" procomp with 36x13.5-17 super swamper iroks. I had to grind off a little off the metal on the inner fender and trimmed the front valance to make them fit. Was pretty easy.
The fx4 is pretty much the same except it comes with some skid plates and the trim is a little different. Other than that they are the same as a regular 4x4
I get about 13-14 mpg. Usually, around 13. I don't daily drive it anymore since my new job requires me to drive 600 miles per week. I have the stock 3.73 gears and my around town mileage would probably go up a bit if i put some 4.56's. My mileage was around 15-16 when i had 35's.
my mudgrapplers also work great in the sand, we always dig our trucks down like that at the beach out by the water. pop is 4 and pull right out. what kind of exhaust are u running, it sounds good.
No. Well, if things get to much worse with the economy, maybe J/C. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time. I've put a lot into it. Just curious, what kind of price were you thinking of? It's a 2005 fx4, leather, and 42,000 mi.
@supersnot4 it makes some difference. Now obviously I like chevy's, but having a locker in the back makes all the difference in the world. I have an 01 dodge ram prerunner and its 2wd. I can take that anywhere in the dunes with bfg project tires. It's the indian not the arrow. Now I'm not saying that a bmw will do better depending on the driver, but sand is something that you have to learn to drive in. The truck doesn't know how to do that for you.
@supersnot4 ya. thats the point I try to get across to people. Most people don't realize the factors that make a truck drive well offroad. I know so many people that lift a truck and can't figure out why I can drive circles around them with a 2wd.

It sounds b-e-a-u-tiful!
Gorgeous truck.
I dont like Fords, but that black on black is sick as hell! Nice Work!!

Thanks man. Your truck looks nice as well.

@Sotexy2 yep, with 87 octane as well. I take it easy, not to heavy on the throttle. It's a truck and it's not going to be fast.
thanx. Just flowmasters, and i have them cut off right after the muffler.
This is why 4wd is essental
i love my f150's for mudding jumping dunes or just as a work truck

procomp stage 2 with coilovers. i believe i paid 2300 or so. But, that was 3 yrs ago. They are cheaper now.
hey what lift do you have on that and what size tires... thats a sick truck
I've got one, but it doesn't look that impressive pulling out sand. It only takes a little tug to get people out.
badass triton
What size lift is that bro? And size tires? Nice truck!
i think the fx4 always has a tow package too.
sick looking truck....
what year????
nice truck
Yes. I could have set it to 8" to fit the iroks, but i chose to trim the fenders instead. I didn't want my cv angles to be messed up.
You said you had the 6" procomp on your truck, is that lift adjustable? So can it be set between 6" and 8"?
@largemouthbassrigs 36x13.5-17. 36.6 to be exact

@Redshad08 haha iroks are iroks.... only change in size...
@cade038 6" procomp with coilovers. I took the grinder to the inner fender to get rid of some minor rubbing.
lol nice, wish you woulda got the pulls on tape too!
iroks are the ish in AK.
Can't someone tell me what lift is that or Level kit what size tires ???
@mtb416 Thanks!
nice tires
@bigmiah5050 y did you switch from the iroks ???
how high is that lift? 6" ?
@supersnot4 lol ok sorry about that. Most people don't understand that the driver has a lot to do with how well your truck does offroad.
how to drive on the beach with a two-wheel drive vehicle
what size iroks u got?
That's a 6 inch lift on 35s
size tires?
dont forget limited slip
@Sotexy2 that's a bit hard to believe ))
And the rusting starts in 3.2.1...
lol easyer to load bikes like that !! makes the truck lower
