Coming from the PSVR, I was instantly blown away by the resolution of the home screen environment on quest2.... then 3 minutes later was trying to pinpoint the reason why I was not nearly as immersed as on my psvr... and I realized it was that annoying pressure around my eyes. I totally underestimated the effect this would have on immersion and 10 min. after that I had to take it off... I cannot freaking wait for my elite strap to get in. The discomfort from the stock strap is just screaming to my brain that I'm wearing a virtual headset that is hurting my face and eyes. and not only makes me unimmersed but makes the games unplayable for more than 45 min. The pressure feels like my eyes are straining. This headset is so uncomfortable I freaking hate it and love the headset at the same time. I'm just so grateful that its fixable!!!!

You don't need a cable, Virtual Desktop is great and Oculus are coming with their own solution in time. Aren't there also 3rd party solutions coming for mounting other straps as well? You talk about headphones as an extra cost, but most of us that actually care about audio have a great headset at the ready to use with the HMD. Won't need to buy a new one to ONLY use with oculus. Reverb doesn't come with knuckles grip either as far as I know. So why do you factor in the cost of a headset, but also forget the Quest 2 has a mobile processor and TOTAL standalone capabilities when comparing the headsets pricing? Quest 2 is about portability, accessibility and about offering a great VR experience to as many people as possible. G2 for sim-racing. Index if you have the cash to spare and want 120hz. Quest 2 and elite strap was 400 usd. Reverb G2 starts at 740 USD here. So 300 usd for a better display and audio, but also I lose the ability to play undemanding games like ping pong and beat saber in the garden while my friends are laughing their asses off by my side, waiting for their turn to play.

Me and my friend both got quest 2s for Christmas 2020, but he got the elite strap and I didn't. I still have the stock strap and thought he did as well. I was super hesitant to get one because I've seen so many break, but after playing with it at my friend's house recently, it is so much better. I might have to get one, though it's a bit expensive

My Oculus Quest rigid strap is totally broken after all my backpacking and demoying. Regardless of whether you opt for soft strap or deluxe one the fact you can now replace them out of the box is amazing.

Oculus/Facebook is charging 79.00 for a usb C cable... we all know who they are targeting with some of those prices. Give it a minute and 3p manufacturers will release a strap that is better for less.
I bought mine as soon as they were available to buy and I still haven’t gotten it. I got a message saying it’s going to be super delayed now and asking if I’d like to cancel my order.
I only play my quest for an hour at a time. It gets uncomfortable after that but even if it was comfortable I would still get off. Idk If I should do this. I’ll have to try out the standard strap for a little bit first
Mine snapped after a week of use. i was very careful with it as I had heard this happens with some sets. Very disappointed am awaiting a replacement at this time, lets see how long the second one lasts.

Setting up wireless headphones with the Oculus Quest requires enabling developer mode, sideloading apps, and using the command prompt on a PC. Even then, it doesn't work with all Bluetooth headphones
I don't think the price is expensive, they are selling the quest at a low cost, it's all about making the profit from accessories rather then the device, I like this model as the people with more cash to burn are subsiding the less hardcore and cash strapped users This same concept is happening in free to play games like fortnite, I don't play it anymore but I did for a good 2 years and spent like £10 on skins
Front heavy issue is easily solved with a 200 gram 10k mAh power bank strapped at the back of the stock strap. Something that is more difficult to do with this or other elite straps and you will need to do it if you are a hardcore VR enthusiast who plays VR for long periods of time. Even if you manage to fit it, it will make the headset super heavy again this time at the back. You can get the one with the built in powerbank but that has like 1-2 hours extra battery inside and costs as much as 3 power banks, so yea...Unless the stock one is giving you discomfort just get a 30buck powerbank and some velcro (or a battery strap like Kiwi for 10 bucks) and rock and roll for 6-8 hours.
I heard the Oculus quest 2 is not worth it. Because Facebook ruined it. That if your Facebook account violates anything they don't approve of. Your headset will be locked out. And you will lose your games. So it ends up being A Vr headset paper weight on your desk. And if your a younger kids with a Facebook account. You won't be able to play all the games. You shld use a parent account. Thats rediculous isn't it! So in opinion the older headset and Oculus RS is a much better item to have. I have had no issues with mine. 🙂. There ya go everyone.
My elite strap cracked when I tightened it, only a few weeks after purchase. One turn of the disc and it cracked on the side. Really flimsy plastic, if i dropped it or was heavy handed I could accept it breaking, it's simply a bad design and made with flimsy materials. Shocking price for a piece of moulded plastic.

What about having long hair? My hair reaches my lower neck down but I usually just low tie it with the original strap but this looks like it takes a lot is space on the back of head.
The cloth strap does get dirty rather quickly. I believe a black cloth strap should be sold as well, for those that can tolerate it and dirt wouldn't show up on it. But even when just watching movies, you have to keep adjusting the headset with the cloth strap. Still, I believe having a black cloth strap for an alternative would be a great choice.

What I'll do is I'll wait for a 3rd party cheaper or better strap + wait for what Logitech will drop with Oculus, they said they will be working with them to make a VR audio solution and I'm sure it'll be great so waiting is worth it!
BranzeeGaming I’m just planning on using the VR power battery pack with the original strap. It will still act as a counterweight and should take a LOT of discomfort out the soft strap. If you go to reality rebuff’s website you can see what it looks like with the soft strap.

The original strap has always fit just fine for me. I am just disappointed that I mostly use the device just for watching RUclips, media, with light gaming, and it has completely come apart(the adjustable plastic, and adhesive on top band). For $300, I expected a carrying case at least with this device.

All they had to do was add a freaking cushion that rests against the nose. That is the ONLY thing letting it slide down my face.
