I honestly don’t have a lot of friends, but this podcast made me feel like I was at an old school sleepover and made me feel all warm inside. It was so fun listening to you ladies, I hope the whole gang is on often!!!
I loved Riyan’s (I hope I’m spelling her name right) perspective on diversity in theatre. People should be able to exist and play whatever role regardless of race or size and the whole narrative NOT entirely centered around those factors of their identity. Love it.
But...didn't they also say that fat actors should play fat characters...? That's not exactly in support of people should be able to play whatever role. Also...Glinda is described as a white woman with blue eyes in the books. You are literally changing an artists creation to fit what you want. She wasn't black and saying she should be just for the sake of diversity is just dumb and disrespect the artists original work. And if we change those roles to be more diverse, why can't we change traditionally black or brown roles to include white people so that it's diverse? If you don't want it both ways, then it's not about inclusivity. It's about pushing out one group for another.
I love how Sierra literally is like “let’s make podcasting on a yacht a business expense” and I genuinely love that for you ❤️ So happy the podcast is back and I feel like Riayn and Paloma should be regulars for sure. Great chemistry!
I constantly tell my 8 year old that being “like the other girls” is awesome. You don’t have to be “not like the other girls”. Girls are awesome, why wouldn’t u wanna be “like the other girls”. I have all girl friends, I like doing “girl stuff”. Girls are cool and just be yourself. Also instilling in her to not be a “pick me”
I mean yes but lets not forget the not like other girls was also borned out of women liking not girly things and there fore being lavel and also judge and even marginalize for it so,,,,
I’m kinda mad right now… do we have to wait a WHOLE WEEK before we get the next podcast episode??? The energy between the three of you was *chef’s kiss*
While I hear Paloma's point, white or light-skinned Latinx's tend to make up most Latinx roles. Colorism is reaaaaal. Even with Black actors, we tend to see more "euopean features" and lighter skinned Black actors. I feel like it's fine for them to go for darker skinned Latina's.
Yes, I, as a very white Mexican person, agree with you 100%. White latines are the default, and she could be cast as a white person easily but brown and black latine people are left with only those options.
im in theatre too and I GET IT im nonbinary and there are so few roles that i feel like im forced to either play super femme or a little boy, or dont get a main role because there isn’t one "for me", theatre is always preached as so inclusive but based on so many people's experiences it's not and its so messed up
As someone that was in theater professionally for a few years and left because of all of this (plus creepy directors) this is so nice! Thank you for having this conversation ❤️
Sierra-I was also told to lose or gain weight when I was about 13/14! It killed me. I lost the weight and it led to an eating disorder that I still battle 30 years later. I was also told my eyes were to big for film in college which made me change all of my dreams of moving to LA, acting in movies…I got scared when my daughter fell in love with theatre and have spent every show telling her she doesn’t have to change to be successful to try and combat the things she hears from directors still today. Thank you for talking about this!!
Honestly didn't know how much I missed these podcasts. Twilight one is going to be awesome and you guys should totally do a zodiac one. Makes me so happy.
I'm so lucky to have grown up in theatre departments that were GENUINELY inclusive. I was a part of Alice in Wonderland in sixth grade, where the role was divided among six actors so everyone could do multiple parts (I was one of the Alices, and was also in the caucus race dance and did lights and was a prop manager). Of the Alices, three were white, two were black, one was Asian, two were mid size and one was plus size. I didn't really think about it at the time, but in hindsight that was so incredible to be a part of. edit: oh I would LOVE a yachtcast Paloma!!
Man I absolutely LIVE for Riayn's energy every time she's on camera! 💕 So fun to listen in on your rants. And if I could just say one thing, I know this has never been said on camera or anything and I mean no hate by it at all, I just want to say Riayn and Paloma are like my secret OTP 😶 they are just so cute and compliment each other so well! 😍 Sorry if that's out of line in anyway 😅 love you all!
I love this trio! And I hope they’re frequent guests on future podcasts. There’s so much more to unpack here! Stagedoor experiences, analyzing the birth charts. I’d watch a whole episode of celebrity dreamcasts from you three. And I can’t wait for the twilight recap!
It's funny Sierra that you blame Jacob's werewolf side for your dislike, when in reality it's the Cullen's fault for living in Forks that caused them to turn. I love the podcast, your friends seem very nice and fun to hang out with ❤️
I’m watching and responding out loud as if y’all can actually hear me LMAO Also, it’s very cute that Sierra is a Gemini moon and Grace is a Gemini sun.
i loved this so much! this was just so fun and comforting and engaging. i could listen to the three of you chat for hours. please do more podcast episodes together! 💜
i missed hearing your thoughts and opinions sierra!! i love that you’re getting back into the podcast! this ep was so interesting and thought provoking, y’all did great job!
So happy found y’all Paloma. I’m adopted Colombian and I feel you so deeply. It’s like they don’t know latine people are humans who come in every race and cultural and racial identity is not the same and then I didn’t know.
just wanted to mention that if riayn played regina she wouldn’t HAVE to wear a blonde wig! they have many POC reginas who wear brunette wigs, like the current tour regina, nadina hassan! it’s really awesome to see! 🥰
Such a fun podcast, I loved listening to it so much on Spotify that I had to come over here so I could drop a comment! It's probably because you're all in theatre, but it everyone's voice was soooo pleasing to the ear like wow, especially Paloma's! I loved the topics and totally agree that places touting "the first black/whatever *insert character here* is kind of dumb at this point, like let word of mouth hype your show up not reminders of how dumb casting can be sometimes! So true on all of the girl talk and how we internalize what others will think. I know that in high school I wasn't too worried about boys and more so just generally believed that eventually I'd find someone, but I'd be lying if I said I was kind of worried about scaring them away because I was smart and they wouldn't feel comfortable having a girlfriend smarter then them. And now I'm in the best relationship ever and we are so similar and he always tells me how much he loves how smart I am and it makes me so sad that so many girls just internalize how they expect men to act as a way to prepare for it, sometimes taking measures to prevent the reactions and sometimes just hoping for the best and not changing. Can't wait to see these two on more shows!
You've solidified my choice in having 'breaking dawn' be my next book to read. I'll see you on the twilight pod :) thankyou for this, you're all gorgeous human beings
Fantastic podcast!!!! I love your energy and topics. You make me laugh and think about things-thanks for both! I can’t wait for the Twilight episode. I was Team Edward in my twenties, but I’m Team Jacob in my thirties. It is interesting how time and experiences change our perspectives and interests.
i will watch almost anything you put out but I am so much more interested in this type of content than your main channel content (which I tend to enjoy anyway!) great stuff!!
I've watched Zane and Heath's Unfiltered podcast for so long, that I now sing that word whenever I hear it. Sierra Unfiltered has a nice beat to it now in my head 🤣. It'd be so interesting to see those two worlds collide on each other's podcasts 🤣. I bet Disney rides and video games would be the intersection lol.
The radiant feminine energy in this podcast is so comforting. You guys are incredibly fun to listen to!
I honestly don’t have a lot of friends, but this podcast made me feel like I was at an old school sleepover and made me feel all warm inside. It was so fun listening to you ladies, I hope the whole gang is on often!!!
Omg same!
I totally relate!
Same, it made me so happy
Sames 💚
I loved Riyan’s (I hope I’m spelling her name right) perspective on diversity in theatre. People should be able to exist and play whatever role regardless of race or size and the whole narrative NOT entirely centered around those factors of their identity. Love it.
i agree completely. i feel like the attempt to be inclusive and antiracist can be racist in itself at times.
But...didn't they also say that fat actors should play fat characters...? That's not exactly in support of people should be able to play whatever role.
Also...Glinda is described as a white woman with blue eyes in the books. You are literally changing an artists creation to fit what you want. “Idk if it was a tomboy phase or just me being a bi queen”. Too relatable 😂
Yup absolutely
The return of sierra unfiltered is the glimmer of hope we all needed in 2022. I love your guys’ energy❤️
I love how Sierra literally is like “let’s make podcasting on a yacht a business expense” and I genuinely love that for you ❤️ So happy the podcast is back and I feel like Riayn and Paloma should be regulars for sure. Great chemistry!

I felt this in my soul 💜💜💜💜👑
I love this so much! I hope to do the same with Grace 💕💕
I mean yes but lets not forget the not like other girls was also borned out of women liking not girly things and there fore being lavel and also judge and even marginalize for it so,,,,
Paloma’s voice is so calming. Like I want her to narrate my life.
Sierra unfiltered confirm back is the best thing to happen to the world of podcasts 😍 I missed it so much 😩
The three of you together have the best dynamic! Yes to more episodes with Riayn and Paloma!
Ok but I wouldn't be mad about these 3 being the new official cast of Sierra Unfiltered
I’m kinda mad right now… do we have to wait a WHOLE WEEK before we get the next podcast episode??? The energy between the three of you was *chef’s kiss*
We need merch that says “I am a try hard” 16:25 😂 YES! Love that you guys are talking about this.
I literally guessed Sierras whole chart, she is the embodiment of all her signs. I love her so much!

Sierra is soooo Capricorn rising! So productive and hardworking
im in theatre too and I GET IT

Paloma has such a beautiful voice, I want her to voice my thoughts in my brain please
“So you can do that but you can’t pronounce Aquarius” omg
As someone that was in theater professionally for a few years and left because of all of this (plus creepy directors) this is so nice! Thank you for having this conversation ❤️

edit: oh I would LOVE a yachtcast Paloma!!
I loved every bit of this! Honestly, if this became it's own spin-off podcast (The Try Hard Podcast??) I would totally watch/listen too!
I’m so freaking excited for the Twilight podcast!!
Yaaas me too
Man I absolutely LIVE for Riayn's energy every time she's on camera! 💕 So fun to listen in on your rants.

I love the podcast, your friends seem very nice and fun to hang out with ❤️
This is probably the best thing for me 2022 rn please keep doing more pods 🥰
This was the best pod cast I’ve ever been able to watch in my life!!
I’m watching and responding out loud as if y’all can actually hear me LMAO
Also, it’s very cute that Sierra is a Gemini moon and Grace is a Gemini sun.
I started writing a comment about how I loved the initial theatre conversation, but the whole podcast is SO GOOD!
The only complaint I have is the fact that I went to Riayns RUclips and she doesn’t post often! Her main character persona has me NEEEEEDING more.
A podcast has never made me want a female friend group with similar interests more 🥺 I love this!
I've missed the pod so much! I love you 3 together. And I lived for the Legally Blonde references!
love the dynamic between u 3!!!!
i loved this so much! this was just so fun and comforting and engaging. i could listen to the three of you chat for hours. please do more podcast episodes together! 💜

It’s clear you have great on camera energy with these two. No hate to Steve, but please keep these women!

I've watched Zane and Heath's Unfiltered podcast for so long, that I now sing that word whenever I hear it. Sierra Unfiltered has a nice beat to it now in my head 🤣.
